So. Personal opinions on the main wiki aren't allowed, be they gushing or bashing. Now, bashing gets tolerated even less than gushing, and that makes sense; it leads to more flamewars.
But that doesn't mean we have to live with all the gushing either. This thread can serve as a center for keeping it in check. One function might be to alert people to pages that are really heavy in gushing, to the point that it's not just a quick fix and will need some assistance.
I'm still wondering about my Spider-verse post.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!Ah yes, Chief's death. I agree something about the show died with it.
Optimism is a duty.I saw people gush about South Park still being the show for satire until 2016, and even recently critics of the show get harassed from all sides (especially if they believe something is offensive in a way that just isn't funny or poignant), so I was assuming it was still a Sacred Cow in certain circles. It's true the reputation has died down recently, but that's mostly a shift in societal values, I think.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is very gushy in parts as it frames everything about the show, even the more problematic elements, as deconstruction or 'that's the point' kinda thing plus referring to the cast/director as a Dream Team. The YMMV page does too, turning an essay on how Billy/Dr. Horrible was not nice into a Misaimed Fandom thing.
EDIT: " The Law of Conservation of Detail: Does it ever. The series is about the length of a standard hour-long TV show, and in that time it manages to fit in every bit of character development, deconstruction of various tropes, Foreshadowing, stealth humour and all the other minute details which are mentioned on this page. As of October 2016, there are 307 tropes on this page for 42 minutes of musical (and more on the subpages). Every last second counts."

The Protomen enhanced my life.I know it is not gushing per se, but I wonder if we should be cleaning up Fanfic Fuel examples on YMMV pages as well. They often seem like little more than a collection for vaguely interesting plot ideas. On top of that, every work leaves gaps open, and I'm not sure exhaustively listing them all is particularly productive.
Optimism is a duty.I love when people use lots of tropes being listed to prove that a work is good, even though not only is that not necessarily true, those tropes were probably shoehorned in by, if not the same troper, other people desperate to make the work look good.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Probably the latter, since this is a Joss Whedon product and the site was very fond of him in the early days.
Probably cause it started as a Buffy site. The Dr. Horrible stuff kinda looks like early gushing that was just never properly cleaned up.

The Protomen enhanced my life. And sometimes, Fan Myopia even gets in the way of admin fiat.
Rock'n'roll never dies!I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at there; are you saying the IP thread was wrong or that Admin Fiat is good or...what? There were Fan Myopia images in the thread but they weren't the ones chosen.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessJust joking. The previous image was tagged under admin fiat despite being JAFAAC from Fast Eddie's fandom.
Rock'n'roll never dies!This is on Scooby-Doo:
- Here's one mixed in with Fridge Brilliance: If you ever feel like the villains are lame for being "just" guys with a mask and not real monsters, consider that villains like Ghostface, Leatherface and pretty much every one of the murderers from The Purge are ALSO guys with a mask. Many of the criminals they've fought over their careers have attacked or harmed the gang and tried to kill them in various ways, not to mention many were criminal masterminds or (implied) murderers...[[Badass Normal and the gang put an end to all of their plans]]''. The Scooby Gang has put so many criminals behind bars during their shows, they may be able to put pretty much every detective in fiction, and even some superheroes, to shame!

That can be cut for being a general example on a moments page when moments are, you know, moments.
There may be some problems with the description for Kaeloo, a highly-wicked work.
The show began as a 3-minute short film in 2007, which caught the attention of producer Cube Creative, resulting in an entire season being broadcasted on Canal+ in 2010, followed by a second season in 2012, a third season in 2017, and a fourth season in 2020. The show's official English dub was aired briefly in Australia in 2012 on ABC but was then cancelled; it continued airing on NITV in April 2018. It has been met with praise from both audiences and critics, and received several awards and nominations. It was notably complimented on its ability to entertain both children and adults.
Was looking at Lily Orchard and it has a lot of issues with YMMV as well as gushy comments about a real life person, one who is incredibly controversial in some circles with a reputation as a Jerkass no less.
Or a Jerkass Façade, at least. She has a rather blunt, direct style that some people find very confrontational, but apparently she is a lot nicer in real life.

Optimism is a duty.We can't make claims about what someone's like in real life.
That's the impression people have from her livestreams, where she is not in character.
Optimism is a duty.Trim the South Park gushing. I think we can go into the related to help clean it up. It extends much farther than I realized (to the point I had to rewrite the Dueling Works example for being blatantly such).
I can't deal with these forums; they anger up the blood too much. That still doesn't work because Jerkass Façade is about the character having a hidden side, not the character being different from the person portraying them.
If anything, the excessive gushing does prove that its status as a Sacred Cow isn't inaccurate. I replaced the entry with the one I wrote a page back, which better explains the fandom reception rather than trying to justify it with a wall of gush.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Oh, I didn't mean to trope her, I just wanted to clarify the situation.
Optimism is a duty.Well, of the character is a Jerkass (and the actor isn't), then we can list that as a trope, if we accept that she is playing a character.
Some of the entries on Elijah Wood about his eyes seem a bit gushy, even if they have quotes to go off of. That said him having prominent eyes is a notable trait of his among the public, even those who don't gush about him.
Here's an interesting rant from a former fan (it's from 2011):

The same can be said for other Long-Runners like Simpsons and Family Guy.

Kirby is awesome.
