The Nazis also came up with a modernist variant called Tannenberg, which they stopped using at the same time because someone came up with the idea that the whole Fraktur font family was introduced by Jewish printers and letterers (that's Nazi Germany for you).

I think Germania One might have been what i was thinking. Or something like that. Is that style also somehow connected to the nazis?

Talk to them at school or another place, I suppose? I'm not sure what you're asking - does one of them have, say, a particular difficulty with starting conversations for whatever reason?
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrAlso, what's the context for these characters meeting? Where do they meet? What do they know of each other prior to this meeting? Are they sort of being forced together, such as being in the same classroom, sports team, church group, whatever? Are they in adjacent friend groups sitting together at lunch or something, or at a party? Is their meeting unstructured, like they just happen to encounter each other at the skate park or basketball courts or comic store or something and wind up striking up a conversation? A conversation starter could be something as little as "Did you know what the teacher was talking about", or "I can't wait to play the new video game tonight", or "Cool kickflip".
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."I had this old story idea about a guy who somehow gets sent into an extradimensional(?) city solely populated by similiarly displaced alternate versions of himself, who are forming/have formed into groups and factions and the majority of whom are bad, dubious, or ambiguous (while the protagonist is a Nice Guy). He teams up with two alternates, and they quickly get into shit with the others while trying to figure things out.
Should the WIP title be Alterity or Alternity?

~ * Bleh * ~ (Looking for a russian-speaker to consult about names and words for a thing)"Alterity" sounds like a portmanteau of "alternate reality", while "Alternity" sounds more like "alternate" and "eternity" to me. Just from what you've said in that comment about your story, the first title might be the more apt one, but I always say that titles are never set in stone until the story is written and done, because you never know where else it may take you as you write.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."
I did say WIP title.
~ * Bleh * ~ (Looking for a russian-speaker to consult about names and words for a thing)So, right now this is just a scene idea I'm considering and it won't happen for a while, but how plausible is it for a character stuck in a time loop to commit murder to see if it'd stick? Basically in my story I'm planning for a "Groundhog Day" Loop but with consequences, with things becoming more and more chaotic after each loop. The character in question would be the only one with full memory of every loop, and this, among other things, would make him become somewhat desperate and erratic in his attempts to understand what's happening.
The scene I have in mind is that he breaks down and stabs his friend as a test, to see if anything could stop the loop. But does that seem like a decision someone would make, even if they're undergoing Sanity Slippage? If so, do you think there's a point at which it would make sense (say, after a certain number of loops), or would the emphasis have to be more on his deteriorating mental stability and the rising tension between him and everyone else in the house (where the loop is occurring)?
I do intend for the murder (and the immediate consequences of said murder) to not be permanent, it'd feel like a bad nightmare and bad stomach pain to the person who got stabbed and obviously the protagonist would remember doing this and would probably just feel even worse as a result. IDK if that changes anything, but yeah.
I'm just curious to know your thoughts ^^
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHmmm... I could see it working, albeit likely with great psychological resistance hampering the act.
For one thing, desperation can sometimes push people to do increasingly dire things, to increasingly go beyond their norms.
And for another, the presence of the time-loop might lead to the idea that, well, maybe it won't work and the victim will be perfectly okay after the reset...

"Fear is a tyrant and a despot, more terrible than the rack, more potent than the snake." —Edgar WallaceCross-posting from the Toonami Thread.
It's a fun story idea I've been playing around with. In their chapter in my sixth short story, as part of the fun atmosphere of their romantic night out, King Zasedis and Queen Sastiana are going to see a Marvel movie.
Yes, you read that right. It’ll be 146 years since Iron Man first hit theaters and the Marvel Cinematic Universe will still be going strong.
My question about it is what are some famous Marvel Comics storylines that the MCU writers haven't used yet? I'm admittedly leaning towards a movie version of the Phoenix Saga, but I'm open to suggestions. :)
Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)Talk to them at school or another place, I suppose? I'm not sure what you're asking - does one of them have, say, a particular difficulty with starting conversations for whatever reason?
Well, I do have the difficulty that as an autistic youth I barely interacted with children. And still don't. So I have no idea how such an interaction would work.
Anyhow, it's a casual encounter just out of school and they have never met before.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman@ Ars: Yeah, part of the idea here is that he'd do it because he believes it'll reset and wants to know what the limit is. I'd probably need to put him under some severe distress though for it to make sense with his character since he's not normally an aggressive or violent person.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo, this meeting has to take place in a fully neutral space where they would have no reason to speak to the other or think they have anything in common.
What if one of them's carrying something, like a folder full of school papers or a box of stuff, and spills it, and the other boy helps them gather their stuff? The other boy makes some sort of innocuous comment- "yuck, algebra," or something. There's your conversation.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Would a monster that looks like a wolf but has a number of long prehensile tails that can act like Combat Tentacles in battle an actual creature that has been made and trademarked? I know that it resembles a certain Japanese mythological entity that has been used before, but I wasn't exactly trying to reference that.
For what it's worth, this thing only lasts for a few minutes in story before it is defeated; it's the first of many things the Big Bad throws at the heroes to protect himself.

"Fear is a tyrant and a despot, more terrible than the rack, more potent than the snake." —Edgar WallaceI sure hope not; that's pretty much the description of my world's barghests, except they're an intelligent race and they use their tails for dexterous tasks.
With that said, I Googled, and nothing really came up.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."Considering how many "definitely not a beholder" things exist, I think it's in principle fine as long as you don't use a trademarked name.
Alright. I've an idea for an ending, but I'm having trouble getting into it.
It involves a boy with a very specific flavor of Reality Warping. Whenever her or someone close to him plays a game, an analogous scenario in reality is forced to adhere to the result of the game (for example, if he is playing a Call of Duty ersatz or a War Strategy game, a battle in a war occurring at the same time would be dictated by his actions in the game). At this point he is unaware of this ability, but another character is.
He recently got suspended from an MMO due to his playstyle being the kind of Dumb Muscle that goes in guns blazing without any regard for strategy and ensure his team's loss (the currently untitled MMO is a weird sort that incorporates PVP into raiding, something that I'm certain can only be done as a fictional game, I know). The team was aside from Martin part of a high profile guild that prides itself on its successes and had accused Martin for griefing. Leading Martin to seek revenge on the guild once his supension is lifted.
I had decided on the endgame (of the story) being a raid against a Lich. At the same time I had also decided to add an a Gang war subplot to showcase Martin's divine power. The first question is how do I contrive a scenario where the gang war matches the circumstances of a encounter where two raiding parties are fighting both a raid boss and each other?
@WarJay:
That does make sense. On the... plus?... side, a time-loop seems like it could indeed make for quite a bit of distress. ^^;
@MorningStar:
I'm curious, if I may: why do you think that this could only be done in a fictional game?
It seems to me that competitive raids might make for exciting MMO gameplay—will the other team get there first? Will they cut us off to prevent our taking the win? Maybe leave someone behind to harry us and thus slow us down? Should we go after them? And so on.
Well, it seems to me that you have two opposing groups seeking to defeat a single powerful foe that's in a faction aligned against both of them.
Since the two "raiding parties" are gangs, that suggests that they might be going after either another gang, or law enforcement. The latter feels to me like the better fit, as law enforcement will tend to be aligned against gangsterism in general, much as an enemy NPC faction might be aligned against all player factions in general.
So, perhaps the "liche" is a powerful figure in law enforcement—a police commissioner, or a higher-up in the FBI (or analogous figure if using non-American law-enforcement). Their minions might be cops/FBI agents—the "FBI in black" look might work for black-clad Death Knights or the like, perhaps.
The plot, then, might be that this law-enforcement figure is poised to bring down both gangs, and both gangs thus aim to kill them before this can happen. However, the gangs also antagonistic and untrusting towards one another, and seek not only to work alone, but to make the kill themselves and thus claim the boost in reputation that comes with it.

My Games & WritingDoes anybody know what car this◊ is? I found it by googling "black gold car", and it was a Pinterest result without a name in the title.
Also, does it look good?

~ * Bleh * ~ (Looking for a russian-speaker to consult about names and words for a thing)It seems to be a Lamborghini Huracan, after much digging. The designs on it seem to be made by one "xixdesign" who have customised other cars, too.
As for if it looks good, it seems to be halfway between tasteful and gaudy, imo.
TRS Wick CleaningWhy have words like "unironically" become popular in the past 1-2 years?
I find it disturbing and it always feels like people are using it as a crutch, or a filler word. I want people to realize how dumb it sounds. Do you ever say "I like Ariana Grande unironically" in casual conversation.
What happened to just saying something "sincerely" or "honestly," or just saying "I like Ariana Grande." Why is "unironically" needed in online discussion? Its used so frequently it almost seems necessary for most people.
If anything it takes anyone over 30 a minute to ask why you are using "unironically" in a sentence because few if anyone prior to 2015 ever used that word.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
It's supposed to be for a Transformers fan character. I need a car that looks cool/intimidating and works in black and gold, made in or before 2010 for him, but i have trouble finding cars that give me the right impression and look good.
