Fanfic Ideas You're Sure Only You Think Are Good

Ya know its always sad to find decent fics that later get deleted, the author being insecure about "statistics" and taking that as qualifier for whether fic is good or author having deleted their account later on while fic is up.

Fanfic ideas that only I think are good ? Dang ! Where do I start ? I'm pretty sure at least half of my ideas work that way. But, to make it simpler, here's the ones I expect to see out there in the foreseeable future:

-Onoe Serika (Chaos;Child) x Romeo (God Eater);

-Sora (Kingdom Hearts) is the son of two Gods who used to be Mahou Shoujo but became concepts;

-"Kakegurui" characters take mentor roles of many of our heroes (Naruto, Sora, Tanjiro, Nezuko, the Holy Quintet, etc.);

-A "Noddy" crossover with "Little Nightmares", "God Eater", "Chaos;Child", "Pathologic", "Shadow of Destiny", "Perfect Blue" and "Bernard's Watch";

-The Queen from "Jewel Pets Twinkle" was actually a disguised Incubator and the Jewelpets were empty drones in an experiment to create a less radical energy collecting system, with the bunny being the only one who genuinely developed a human connection in both "Twinkle" and the original show's timeline (I don't think the other characters have bright destinies awaiting them).

And this is it... the foreseeable portion of the list.

The Quintessential Quintuplets Fight Dracula.

Animal Farm x Death Note. Takes place after the ending of Animal Farm (because the animals can no longer tell the difference between the pigs and the humans) and would have Ryuk visit Napoleon who somehow obtained the Death Note.

Another is A Series of Unfortunate Events x Neon Genesis Evangelion. The Baudelaire somehow wind up at NERV, assume that Count Olaf is after them yet again. Olaf does join NERV but soon realizes that he's way in over his head when he has to go up against Gendo Ikari and SEELE's competing machinations.

Cute little fluff fic where the protagonist cat from Little Kitty Big City somehow meets up with the protagonist cat from Not Only Nine and they are cute kitties together. Possibly also meeting the cat from Stray while they're there. kity kity kity

this kind of idea is probably more suited for fanart than fanfic but i can't draw and i can write so

Kisuke Urahara and Ichigo Kurosaki go to Las Vegas and get really fucked up on drugs when they're supposed to be investigating unusual hollow activities around the Mint 400 race.

I met my girlfriend two semesters ago, and to commemorate her, I'm writing a part-AU, part Perspective Flip fanfic of Paper Mario 64 with my persona Cast as the star.

Instead of just Peach, Bowser decides to all capture my gf's persona Princess Edith to throw both their kingdoms into conflict with each other and start WW3, from the remains of which he'll build a new world order with him on top. Kammy has also brainwashed everyone into forgetting who Mario is and thinking that only the kingdoms are to blame for each other's loss. But Cast's love made him immune.

All of a sudden, Cast has to be the hero. Accompanied by Bolt, a British snark with lightning powers, they reawaken and seek the help of the souls of seven ancient mages, who ask that they revive them by recovering their Artifacts scattered across the island of Printilia so they can combine their elemental powers to build a structure that can take the heroes to Bowser's Castle. However, Kammy Koopa was prepared and hired the Time-Doers, the Seven Deadly Sins incarnate, to each guard an Artifact as well as screw with seven of Printilia's eight cantons to provoke the war.

It’s actually not an idea, because I’m already writing it. I don’t think it’ll attract many people mainly because it’s OC-Centric. Many of me and my friends OCs are appearing here, as well as official characters who are not at all related to Nintendo. I can think of other reasons. The plot is a melting pot of tropes I’ve seen in other media. Printilia is basically an Island of Puns related to different uses of paper. I’m in the process of reworking everything I have so far (From the intro to the Chapter 2-3 intermission) so I can better characterize... well, the characters. I’ve never gotten this far into something creative, but I really don't want to stop prematurely. It may not be ready for its own TV Tropes page, but eventually it will be. I predict by Chapter 5.

Another RWBY Rewrite fic where the Beacon Academy has a literal 100+ original characters added to fill the student body to a "realistic" size and have plenty of cannon fodder. These are all Expies of other manga/anime/game characters, like Erza Scarlet and Edward Elric.

uh I mean my own Marvel fanfic(s) prolly falls under this, so, here goes nothin'.

It's a connected 'verse of fics set in Earth-513(that number isn't taken yet- if it's taken I guess I'll change it) and it combines elements of 616, the MCU, the other two Spider-Man film trilogies, the Venom movies, the Ultimate Universe, Into the Spider-Verse, a number of the cartoons- Spectacular Spider-Man, Marvel Adventures, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Disney XD Marvel cartoons(and I mean both Spider-Man ones for that matter), Marvel Rising, etc. and a number of the various games, most prominently Spider-Man(2018) and its sequels. It also draws inspiration from certain DC properties, namely certain runs of Doom Patrol and the Teen Titans and Young Justice cartoons. Oh, and the Umbrella Academy. And the Renegades books. Also, it brings back(and reimagines) a lot of elements/plots/characters from certain 2000s comics that were, from what I could gather, controversial to say the least.

So yeah, there's a LOT goin' on here and it's kind of a mish-mash of characterizations and elements and whatnot, and the characterization of a number of characters arguably draws more from a lot of the more kid-friendly adaptations since those are the ones I grew up with and got attached to. Not to mention there's some characters who've basically been overwritten with the personality of a different character. Oh, and there's also a number of characters whose appearances are in things I haven't even read yet, and I'm going entirely off of the wiki + a tvtropes page if they even have one + the three guidebooks I memorized when I was 8, and I may rework them after I finally read their source. Oh, also, it's set in, well, around 2007, because that's...a thing with me.

Basically, if you couldn't tell, it's pure self indulgence. And I think that, even without delving deeper into what exactly I've done, this premise alone should be quite...repellent to many.

As for what exactly Marvel 513 entails, oh boy I could talk about it for hours but here's some changes I think people will be turned off by:

-I am attempting to rework the New New Warriors. Yes, THOSE guys. The resulting characters are essentially OCs, but it's kind of hard to salvage what little was there to start with.

-I brought back ALL the spider people. Yes, even Ezekiel. And Madame Web. And Mattie. And Charlotte. And Steel Spider. And Ben and Kaine. And obviously Julia, Jessica, Cindy, and Anya are here. Miles and Gwen are here, too. Not dimension-hoppers, though. I'll get to them in a sec. I tried to give them all something unique, at least.

-Spider-Gwen's a clone, made by the Jackal to kill Spider-Man once and for all, intending to exploit Peter's main emotional weakspot. She has some of Peter's powers thanks to having a bit of his DNA. She's honestly the most angsty character here.

-Cindy is kind of an antagonist. Not evil, just a bit...odd. She deliberately was bitten by a genetically modified spider, and is basically a crazy cat lady but instead of cats she owns dog-sized spiders that she can talk to because I wanted one spider-person to actually have the ability to control/communicate with spiders. She works with Dr. Connors.

-The Spider Society basically compiles everyone from the more magical side of the Spider stories(totem stuff), so Madam Web, Julia, Charlotte, Mattie, Ezekiel, Miss Arrow, and Anya. Ero/Miss Arrow is the deity the cult revolves around. Weird magic spider cult, enough said. Humorously, I kind of predicted some elements of the Madam Web movie with this?????

-oh yeah Mattie- or rather, Matt- is a man because there's a lot of spider ladies and I wanted a more equal gender balance.

- Tony Stark is written like my least favorite portrayals of Batman. Y'know, the "surveillance state" "contingency plans" control freak kind of Batman. Why?? Because I thought it'd be interesting.

I just came up with this one this morning: A Steven Universe x Star Wars crossover. I figured it makes sense since White Diamond and Darth Sidious fufill similar roles as do Luke Skywalker and Steven Universe. Interesting enough, Pink Diamond becoming Rose Quartz seems like the reverse of Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader and furthermore, both Luke and Steven are connected to Darth Vader and Pink Diamond via familial ties.

OK, I would read that.

A Parody of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (and yeah, I'm fully aware that it started out as a parody already) using Female Kunoichi across various Anime, Manga and Video Games. I'm even keeping the colour theme.

So far, I have Kasumi for Blue, Natsu for Red, and Hinata for Purple.

Just missing Orange, but I don't know anyone who fits that colour.

Obviously, it's a loose Parody, since both Natsu and Kasumi use Swords (and Kasumi's actual default colour might be White).

How about Nami? According to Oda her signature colour is orange, and she does dress as kunoichi during Wano.

Nami would work if:

1) She was still 18, since I'm trying to stick to teenagers (though Hinata is pushing as she's an Adult by the time of Boruto, but I'm specifically using her Naruto incarnation (more specifically, from The Last).

and 2) She's not a Kunoichi by trade, and while she's got her Climatact and weather prediction abilities, she's not a front line fighter.

That being said, whenever I come up with ideas like this, I almost always have to compromise a little, so I guess I could stretch things a little.

You know about Y/N? That was a stupid question; it's 2023 (almost 2024). Who hasn't heard of Y/N by now?!

Anyway, what if there was just a seemingly normal Y/N story... until the focus turns from the reader to the narrator? The idea came to me a few months ago when I requested a fanfic idea offsite, and it came out pretty good. Now I'm wondering how that sort of thing would go about if it lasted longer than a chapter.

Multifandom Takeshi's castle villain special

A Kill la Kill/Cruelty Squad crossover, specifically about how Life Fibers can be merged with the type of bio-engineering shown in CS or something

The Mr. Nanny: a crossover between the popular 90s sitcom and the decidedly less popular 90s movie that oddly also featured Madeline Zima as one of the kids.

A Star Vs. the Forces of Evil/Undertale/My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic crossover fic. I think it would be really interesting to see. The war that took place in Undertale can easily be squeezed into the lore of Star Vs. and the cast of Fi M can help the Monster and Mewman races achieve peace for all. Just please don't make sans the main character on the Undertale side of the cast.

ultimate milk crossover: Samus Goes To The Fridge To Get A Glass Of Milk [1]/Get A Glass Of Milk Because You Have To [2]/Cookie Clicker/Kittens Game/Minecraft/The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask crossover fic. also crosses over with other works that prominently feature milk that i'm not immediately thinking of. everyone obsesses over milk for a while

call it idk "Everyone Has To Get Milk" or something

A Despicable Me - Spy X Family crossover.

Gru and his family (and the few Minions loyal to him) prevent Dru to steal something very important in Ostania, but for that Gru need to infiltrate the girls into the Eden Academy to learn more about the next target of Dru: Donovan Desmond.

In the school Agnes enrolls the same group as Donovan, while noticing two very weird students, one that she recognizes as one of the Minions that went away with Dru, the other one is a weird girl called Anya Forger that seems to have a crush with Donovan, without knowing she is a telepath and is looking to be closer to Donovan.

Anya feels sympathy for the unicorn obsessed girl and his pet (she still has the goat) and soon she and Becky befriends her and meet her older sisters, learning that, as Anya, she and her sisters are adopted.

She decides to pull together her family and Gru´s without knowing that her "dad", Loid Forger, has learned of the presence of a supervillain trying to destroy world peace and Loid confuses Gru with Dru, but he tries to learn more of him without blowing his cover... Hilarity Ensues.

A Gravity Falls comedy/crack divergence fic about the Monsters of the Week gathering together, hanging out, bickering, and getting in to dumb shenanigans with each other and the canon main characters. Like, after their defeats most of them end up undergoing a Heel–Face Turn and either take jobs at the Mystery Shack or, if that's not feasable even with character tweaking (eg Blendin already having a job), at least keep in contact and form Odd Friendships with the Pines and the others. Long story short the anomalies befriend each other and the humans and get in to sitcom situations. And as the encounters go on this snowballs until the Mystery Shack's staff ends up looking like something out of The Amazing World of Gumball.

I love the main characters of the series but I'd also like to see some of the one-off monsters get some attention, I can barely find any fanworks about most of them and from skimming the couple that feature them seem to just be remakes of their original episodes. I know a lot of them don't have too much canon character beyond "Dangerous and has a gimmick/theme" but there's still room for some fun dynamics, and a lot of them are really neat and original character concepts. There's some potential for scenarios like the Lumberjack Ghost reacting to the Duskertons, or .GIFfany and Darlene's different-yet-both-bad approaches to "dating" people.

I'd write something like this myself but I'm already working through a lot of projects (some fanworks, some original web stories) as-is. Plus this would take a lot of effort to make it even half-decent.
