After the death of her father, Bonnie Ann is selected as the new captain of the Penzance. However, she is not welcomed into full fellowship by the other captains the alliance of space pirates, and two of the captains conspire to destroy her ship- Captain Marquis, who has a vendetta against her ship, and Captain Blood, who is interested in Bonnie Ann but doesn't stand a chance of getting together with her while she's the captain of her own ship.
Outnumbered, Bonnie Ann is unable to fend off the attack, but she and her crew are rescued by a forth pirate captain Silver. However, Silver's ship is unable to support the now doubled crew size without getting more supplies fast, while Silver's old crew fears a coup from the Bonnie Ann's crew, and Marquis is still out there wanting revenge.

This Comic Provides Examples Of:
- Abduction Is Love: The planet Osabine practices bride abduction. Silver arranges for an Osabine wedding with Bonnie Ann, so that they can land on the planet and restock without arousing suspicion.
- Action Girl: Bonnie Ann, and presumably any other female pirate.
- Babies Ever After: Bonnie Ann is pregnant in the epilogue, which makes wanting to thank Blood awkward.
- Call-Back: Bonnie Ann throws a knife at Blood's gun in the first chapter after Blood rejects her as a captain. Blood complains that she could've sliced his fingers off. When Blood gets upset at her for interrupting his duel with Silver using the same trick, she asks if he's upset because she cut his fingers.
- Combat Medic: Silver is his ship's doctor, in addition to being the captain and a good fighter.
- Distress Call: Bonnie Ann and Silver use a fake one to lure out a military ship for them to capture when they decide to get another ship.
- Duel to the Death: Blood challenges Silver to one.
- Easy Logistics: Averted. The reason Silver needs to get onto Osabine is because they can't support two ships worth of crew, and even after getting supplies the ship still has issues with it's CO2 scrubbers not working fast enough.

- Genius Bruiser: Blood is an intimidating, tattooed pirate who rips apart the furniture when he's frustrated, but he's also an engineer. He can give very technical descriptions of how to rip apart the furniture, and figure out how to destroy a ship without harming its crew.
- Good Cop/Bad Cop: Bonnie Ann tells Silver to be the good pirate in a round of Good Pirate/Bad Pirate to make the crew of the ship they're stealing more willing to surrender.
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Silver agrees to Blood's duel because he thinks Bonnie Ann will be happier with himself out of the picture. Blood decides against killing Silver once he realizes that Bonnie Ann wants to be with Silver.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Silver has the longest hair of anyone in the comic.
- Love Triangle: Blood and Silver are both interested in Bonnie Ann, who hasn't given much thought to the subject of romance.
- Property of Love: Osabine marriages surrender most of the husbands rights to the wives, a fact which Silver is fine with.

- Tele-Frag: Dropping out of Deep Space into a lower level can cause tele-frag. At one point, Blood's ship drops into a missile barrage causing a live warhead to be stuck in one of the walls.
- Waking Up Elsewhere: Bonnie Ann wakes up on a different ship after the attack on her ship. She's denied information on where she is, but she's able to figure it out by looking at the floor plans of her ship.
- Walking Shirtless Scene: Blood only ever wears an open vest.
- What Does She See in Him?: The people of Osabine have no idea why Silver wants to marry a girl as violent and aggressive as Bonnie Ann, which arouses their suspicions enough to do a background check on her.
