Noob: I am such a bad Spy! I need to find a new job.
Master: You know, tears won't save you.
Noob: Who are you?
Master: Follow me. I'll show you. Trust me...

Spy's Creed is a 2013 Team Fortress 2 Machinima created by Mr.o_O using Garry's Mod.

After a botched attempt at infiltrating BLU base, a Noob RED Spy is taken in by a Master Spy under his wing so he can be trained into becoming a more competent Spy.

Beware of spoilers below:

Includes examples of:

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Master's training was all actually nonsense to trick Noob into thinking he improved and could stand a second chance at BLU team. Somehow, all the insincere lessons turned Noob into an utter badass Spy.
  • Affectionate Parody: Of Assassin's Creed by way of Team Fortress 2's humor and lore.
  • All There in the Manual: The video failed to make a major plot point clear, resulting in Mr.o_O explaining in the video's description: There are actually two factions within BLU team, "Good BLU" and "Bad BLU." While "Good BLU" is your typical Team Fortress 2 gaggle of mercs that loyally gather intel for Blutarch Mann, "Bad BLU" are more cutthroat and desire to profit more than their counterparts. Master, who is the true mastermind behind "Bad BLU" intended to use Noob to distract and possibly eliminate "Good BLU" while he stole intel from RED.
  • Ambiguous Situation: BLU Scout is sent out to assist BLU Spy, but whether he's aware of the "Good/Bad" BLU schism or was yet another Unwitting Pawn in BLU Spy's plans is unclear.
  • Bait-and-Switch: After ridding of the BLU Spies, Noob is shocked to see Master tied up, suggesting that the head BLU Spy had taken his place at some point to trick Noob. However, it's shortly revealed that this was a last-ditch attempt to escape with the RED intelligence, but Noob is quickly able to see through the lies and shoots "Master" on the spot.
  • Big Bad Friend: Master turns out to be the head BLU Spy all along, and had manipulated Noob into helping him betray BLU team and steal intel.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Noob has vastly improved into becoming a badass Spy and avenged RED team, but his Master turned out to be a Manipulative Bastard who used him to steal RED team's intelligence and killed his teammates.
  • Cerebus Syndrome: A rather goofy, quirky action comedy in the first half, only to become more deadly serious throughout the second once the twist occurs.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The malfunction in the Hidden Blade that causes it to launch out, which Noob uses to kill BLU Spy.
  • Driven to Suicide: Once the jig is up when Noob survives infiltrating BLU base, Heavy Weapons Guy shoots himself dead, revealing himself to be a BLU Spy.
  • Epic Fail: Noob's first attempt to sneak into BLU base, which got all of BLU team chasing after him and kicking the shit out of him.
  • Eye Scream: BLU Spy is killed by getting a Hidden Blade launched into his eye.
  • Flashback-Montage Realization: After Heavy Weapons Guy kills himself, Noob thinks back on things Heavy and Master had previously said, realizing that they now take on more sinister meanings with what he knows now.
    Master: Trust me...
Master: It seems I am not the only Spy...
Heavy Weapons Guy: And this, is your new weapon...
  • Foreshadowing: A rather shocking amount.
    • When BLU Spy first appears he cheekily tells Noob that it'll be the last time he sees him. In what is also probably an animation error, BLU Spy is wearing a red tie during that scene that accidentally hints at future events.
    • Master chuckles to Heavy Weapons Guy that he's not the only Spy.
    • When Master trains Noob in figuring out who is a Spy in disguise, those who are actually Spies are wearing Obviously Evil Slasher Smiles. Throughout training, Master flashes some sinister grins. In particular his congratulations to Noob while disguised as a Medic has him evilly chuckling to himself.
    • During Noob's training, he stays in a pose without struggle or movement, and Master can be seen staring in shock at his improvement. As it turns out, all the "lessons" Master had been teaching Noob had been bullshit, meaning he was genuinely surprised at Noob's progress here, which is confirmed through his notes seen later.
    • When Master sees off Noob for his second attempt at infiltrating BLU base, he acts disinterested and flashes a suspicious grin at the camera when Noob heads off.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Heavy Weapons Guy gives Noob his Hidden Blades, and it's implied he's basically the one who's providing him with his tools.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Noob challenges BLU Spy to "settle this like gentlemen", leading to a brutal fistfight between the two.
  • Groin Attack: Noob sends a kick into BLU Soldier's crotch.
    BLU Soldier: My cupcakes!
  • In the Hood: Master wears the Dashin' Hashshashin, which was a promotional item tying into Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
  • Ironic Echo: When Noob shot BLU Heavy's hat off his head, Heavy angrily tells Noob to run. Later, Noob re-encounters BLU Heavy and repeats his threatening command to run back at him.
  • Mood Whiplash: After comedically scaring and killing BLU Heavy, Noob is suddenly alerted by the announcer that RED team's intelligence had been stolen, beginning the video's Cerebus Syndrome.
  • Mythology Gag: Noob at one point is watching "Meet The Spy" during his training.
  • One Dialogue, Two Conversations: Noob's reminiscence of meeting Heavy Weapons Guy heavily implies that when he presented him with Hidden Blades and said "and this is your new weapon", he was actually asking Master if Noob was his newest scheme.
  • Operation: [Blank]: Master's plan is revealed to be codenamed "Operation: Spy's Creed".
  • Production Throwback: In the opening scene, the RED Heavy begs Noob to trade weapons, to which Noob gives him a Blunt "No" and books it. He's probably remembering what happened the last time Heavy attempted a trade in a Mr.o_O video.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Upon discovering the truth behind "Operation: Spy's Creed", Noob kills his way through various BLU mercs to find Master.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Owing its intent to parody Assassin's Creed, the opening titles sequences has "Ezio's Family" playing over it and has Noob climbing RED base's tower to presumably do a Leap of Faith.
    • "Johnny B. Goode" is used as the music for Noob's Training Montage, and at one point Noob picks up a guitar and recreates Marty McFly's guitar-playing from Back to the Future.
  • This Cannot Be!: Heavy Weapons Guy's reaction to seeing Noob alive and well after his mission to BLU base, accidentally revealing that he was never meant to survive and come back.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Noob went from ineffectually trying to sneak into BLU base and getting his ass kicked for good measure to becoming a One-Man Army that takes on all of BLU team by himself. He later even manages to make quick work of a group of what should be more experienced Spies than him.
  • Wham Line: Noob had just successfully infiltrated BLU base and single-handedly dispatched BLU team. As he celebrates, he hears:
Announcer: ALERT. THE ENEMY HAS TAKEN OUR INTELLIGENCE.
