Trivia / The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder

Go To

  • Acting for Two: In the episode, 'Da Wish App', Laura Bell Bundy played Rachel Raskin, and her mother, Granny Razz.
  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting:
    • In the Latin American Spanish dub, and unlike with the original series, when the dub was made in the U.S. in Miami, Florida, this one was done with voice actors from not only Miami, but also from Mexico, Chile, and Peru.
    • The French dub is done between France and Belgium, but none of the Belgian voice actors from the first four seasons reprised their roles.
  • Dawson Casting: Timmy Turner now looks “hot” but also slightly older than an 18-year-old (his actor is 10 years older). This was likely done to make him seem like an actual adult rather than a boy in his late teens.
    • Vicky is another example. If she was 16 when Timmy was 10, she must be 24 now. Mary Kate Wiles is 35, however.
  • He Also Did: Christopher J. Nowak serves as the series showrunner. He's responsible for another Nickelodeon Kid Com Sequel Series with Danger Force.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: In late January 2023, the series was removed from Paramount+ and Nickelodeon's official website without any word of the announcement. Nick posted one episode onto YouTube, but the only ways to truly see the others now are through illegal downloads or television recordings.
  • Meaningful Release Date: The series aired one day after the original show's 21st anniversary (03-30-2001).
  • Off-the-Shelf FX: The kaiju suit used in the episode "Codzillard" is an Amazon-sold Rubies II Godzilla suit. Albeit it isn't inflated, likely done to make it less recognizable.
  • The Original Darrin: In the German dub, Hannes Maurer reprises his role as Timmy Turner, after having been replaced by Christian Zeiger in season 10.
  • The Other Darrin: In the Italian dub, Cosmo and Wanda are voiced by Emiliano Reggente and Anna Laviola, replacing Luigi Ferraro and Francesca Guadagno from the original show. The two voice actors also took the roles for a redub of the first four seasons of the original series done for Paramount+, because Nelvana holds the rights to the original dub of those episodes.
    • In the French dub, Lucile Boulanger does not reprise her role as Timmy in the animated intro, as she retired from voice acting in 2017. She was replaced by Alexis Tomassian, who also voices the character in live-action.
  • Out of Order: Despite premiering on a streaming service (which in most cases has every episode of the presently released season available at once rather than periodically releasing each episode individually), the episode where Viv goes to school for the first time is placed in the middle of the series after she's already been shown at school multiple times. Said episode also introduces Cassidy and Vicky, who have had two focus episodes by that point.
    • Nickelodeon later aired the episodes in the order they were produced on their channel.
  • Quietly Cancelled: The show was removed from both Paramount+ and Nickelodeon's website on January 2023 without warning and was not renewed for a second season.
  • Role Reprise:
    • Daran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee reprise their roles as Cosmo, Jorgen von Strangle, and Wanda, respectively from the original show.
    • Notably, Carlos Alazraqui reprises his role as Mr. Crocker from the series, both in live-action and animated forms.
    • The Latin American Spanish dub brought back the entire cast; moreover, Jorgen von Strangle's first voice actor, Manolo Coego, reprises this role after having been replaced in the fifth season of the original series.
    • In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, only Guilherme Briggs reprises his role as Cosmo.
  • Screwed by the Network: As mentioned above, the series was abruptly removed from Nickelodeon’s website and Paramount+ in January 2023.
  • Short-Runners: Unceremoniously dumped after only 13 episodes.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The episode, "The Most Popular Person", was originally going to be called, "The Throne."
    • Roy's last name was originally going to be Ragland, instead of Raskin. The same goes for his mother, Rachel.
