Main Characters
Vivian Turner
Vivian "Viv" Turner
Played by: Audrey Grace Marshall
Viv is usually the most level-headed person in the room, which makes her a Fish out of Water in the colorful chaos of Dimmsdale. While she is forced to adjust to a new normal in such a loud and proud place, she’s also adjusting to an unpredictable new family, including her stepbrother, Roy. Their growing sibling bond makes her feel like this place might not be so bad.
- Informed Attribute: It is stated that Viv is miserable, but there are no signs of it other than the fact she and Ty moved to Dimmsdale and the latter getting remarried.
- Only Sane Woman: She is often weirded out by all the chaos that goes on in Dimmsdale.
- Savvy Guy, Energetic Girl: Inverted with Her and Roy.
Roy Raskin
Roy Irene Raskin
Played by: Tyler Wladis
Roy is an eternal optimist with the best intentions. Outwardly, he tends to seem like the quintessential jock: confident, handsome, and insanely good at sports. He’s even got his portable fan section: “ROY’S BOYS,” who chant his name on the daily whenever Roy’s just being Roy. Quite simply, Roy rules. He’s thrilled when Viv moves to town, and he’s determined to show her that Dimmsdale is an awesome place to live.- Abandoned Catchphrase: In the first episode alone, Roy says "Let's Go!" multiple times, only to never say it again afterwards.
- Alliterative Name: Roy Raskin, if we don't count his middle name, Irene.
- Catchphrase: "Oh yeah..."
- Keet: He is often very Hyper.
- Lovable Jock: He is the star basketball player on his team. Plus, he's great at sports.
Ty Turner
Tyler "Ty" Turner
Played by: Ryan-James Hatanaka
This handsome dad can be overly confident and somewhat oblivious but he means well. An expert ballroom dancer, Ty lives to dance and fits perfectly in Dimmsdale. He and Vivian uprooted their lives to move there, but he can’t wait to get the ballroom dance studio going with his high school sweetheart, Rachel, and their newly merged family.- Alliterative Name: Ty Turner
- Good Parents: With Viv, his daughter.
- High-School Sweethearts: With Rachel, whom he remarried.
Rachel Raskin
Rachel Raskin
Played by: Laura Bell Bundy
Rachel is Roy’s beautiful, confident, loud mom. She was recently reunited with Ty, her high school sweetheart, and is happy to welcome both Ty and Viv into the family. Rachel dances through life without a care in the world - no, seriously, she and Ty are opening a ballroom dance studio!- Alliterative Name: Rachel Raskin
- Good Parents: To her son, Roy.
- Good Stepmother: To Viv.
- Wacky Parent, Serious Child: The Wacky Parent to Viv's Serious Child. With Roy though, that's different.
Zina Zacarias
Zina Zacarias
Played by: Imogen Cohen
Zina is Roy’s #1 fan. Though she confidently marches to the beat of her drum, she can be a little forgetful at times. For instance, whenever Roy is around, Zina can go a little gaga and turn oblivious to everything else. When Viv moves to town, Zina is genuinely excited to make a new friend…and it’s a solid bonus that that friend happens to be Roy’s new sister.- Alliterative Name: Zina Zacarias
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: In 'The Forbidden Phrase', it is shown that Zina is a terrible singer.
- Stalker with a Crush: She likes to be around Roy. A lot.
