  • Third Rate Gamer: At the end of his review of the Little Nemo: The Dream Master video game, he quips about the final boss Nightmare King, asks if he's a member of KISS while showing a picture of Gene Simmons in his Demon makeup onscreen and says, "Well, gol-ly!" much like the Irate Gamer (as he was a parody of the character).
  • The Irritated Gamer: Another send-up of The Irate Gamer has him complaining about losing a turn while playing Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout and crying out, "Well, GoOoOoOoOoOo-lly!" in an exaggerated tone for no reason.

    • In "Bart the Lover", Ned is trying to find out where his son Rod learned some swear words and spies on him while he watches an episode of Gomer Pyle.
Ned: Is this all he watches?
Maude: Well, he used to watch Davey and Goliath, but he thought the idea of a talking dog was blasphemous.
    • A flashback from "Brother, Can You Spare Two Dimes?" has Homer watching a news report about the fall of the Berlin Wall, only to get bored and switch over to Gomer Pyle.
    • In "Bart Gets an Elephant", Homer reads from an old TV Guide and reminisces as he reads the program description, "Gomer upsets Sergeant Carter".
    • In "Mad About the Toy", Grampa, after being asked if he's gay, claims to be "as straight as Gomer Pyle" (unaware that Jim Nabors was gay himself).
