“Dearest Mamo-chan, summer vacation is finally here! And we're all going camping at the lake! But they say this place is haunted. What if our vacation turns into a 'scare'-cation?! It's like Friday the 13th: Pretty Young Girls in Danger! I hate horror movies...”
Usagi Tsukino

Rei and her friends head into the mountainside to visit her older cousin unaware that he was recently attacked for his Star Seed. While looking for him and enjoying the wonders of camping, they also run into the Three Lights who are in the middle of movie production and want to try their hand at pranking the girls.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Accidental Pervert: Seiya ends the episode by landing on top of Usagi after being knocked down by Chibi Chibi. Usagi then launches him away.
  • Actually a Good Idea: Taiki agrees with Seiya of taking a dip in the lake while waiting for the next scene
  • Bad "Bad Acting": Taiki and Yaten do a really bad job of acting scared when "Seiya" shows up.
  • Bait-and-Switch: After a friendly postman warns the Inner girls about something terrorizing the campers, it cuts to some hormonally stressed out children being attacked by an undead hooligan with a chainsaw. It's all revealed to be the filming for a new movie featuring the Three Lights as sentai heroes.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Siren's episode debut portrayed her as an air-headed sweetie who needed to be pushed into doing her job. This episode starts with her getting straight to work without hesitation or pleasantries. Crow wasn't kidding when she deemed Siren as her precious rival.
  • Blob Monster: Sailor Artist's body design is based on pottery mud though he has a fairly solid body. He can also conjure muddy clay pots to attack the Sailor Guardians.
  • Camping Episode: The girls head to the mountains for a pleasant camping trip. It also delves on the horror side with a supposed lake monster.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Rei explains to her friends how she rescued a phoenix charm from her older cousin. She remembers it again when her cousin, who became a Phage, almost destroys it for being a failure.
  • Disappointed in You: Usagi chews out Seiya for "fainting" when the monster was attacking, a contrast to his supposed hero self from the movie. She even laments that his fans would be disappointed to see what a huge chicken their idol turned out to be.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: While he and his friends discuss about a supposed monster haunting the campgrounds, Seiya comes up with the idea of a monster themed prank.
  • Failed a Spot Check: The Two Lights don't realize Sailor Artist wasn't Seiya until after the real Seiya shows up. They only briefly thought it was odd their supposed friend was using a hammer instead of a chainsaw.
  • Flashback: Rei tells her friends on how she saved a beautiful phoenix charm from being destroyed by her cousin Kengo.
  • Gut Feeling: Rei thinks to herself that she has a bad feeling after seeing her cousin's cabin torn apart.
  • It Runs in the Family: Just like his cousin Rei, Kengo Ibuki has a nasty temper which he lets out by destroying his ceramic works.
  • Lack of Empathy: Taiki and Yaten clearly don't give a shit about how Rei might interpret their prank after she mentions the possibility that her missing cousin was attacked by whoever's been ransacking campsites (with none of them realizing her cousin is the one attacking campsites).
  • Mistaken for an Imposter: . After "warning" the girls about a monster attacking the camp, the chorus of scream and terror can be heard in the background. The Two Lights assume that Seiya is scaring other campers to really sell his prank. They even mistake Sailor Artist for him when he destroys the Inners' camp.
  • Not So Above It All: Taiki eagerly joins in Seiya's prank along with Yaten, despite having previously been shown to be the "serious" member of the trio.
  • Oh, Crap!: Ami is shocked to see something in the water that's headed for her unsuspecting friend Usagi.
  • Practical Joke: Seiya comes up with the idea of scaring Usagi's girlfriends by using the monster costume from their movie. Taiki and Yaten play along by pretending to be frightened by it.
  • The Promise: Kengo promises to let Rei keep the phoenix charm on the condition that she hold onto it until he makes a better one.
  • Ransacked Room: Rei walks into her cousin's cabin to see the place completely trashed and messy.
  • Running Gag: Usagi having to chase after Chibi Chibi before she does something dangerous.
  • Sentai: The local teen idols star in a new movie where they play sentai heroes.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Something Only They Would Say: Sailor Mars realizes that the Phage is actually her cousin based on him screaming "failure" mixed with his reaction to her charm.
  • Talking the Monster to Death: Before being chased by the Phage, Usagi takes a moment to yell at him for destroying their camp.
  • Villain Opening Scene: The tale of horror begins with Aluminum Siren interrupting Kengo's hissy fit by exposing his Star Seed.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: The Three Lights appear shirtless after taking a quick swim at the lake.
