It's Halloween again and time for the usual party at the park house. This year Benson reveals he rented some entertainment for the guests, a Wishing Machine named Racki that'll show the user whatever they would wish for. Benson, Pops, Fives and Rigby all give it a try to see how their wishes would turn out.

  • Mr. Boss Man: Benson wishes on a way to motivate Mordecai and Rigby, so he's shown that's he's able to do so with the help of a puppet he buy off TV. It works...until the puppet comes to life.
  • WerePops: Pop wishes to see what it would be like to travel. So he's shown that he's part of a jury for a case involving a werewolf where he inadvertently is turned into one and mistaken for the criminal.
  • Going Up: Hi-Five Ghost misses his girlfriend, Celia, and wishes he could visit her. So he's shown visiting her apartment with a rather creepy elevator operator.
  • Chocolatude: Finally, Rigby wishes he could be more popular. So he's shown Mordecai and him out trick or treating and being dared to take some candy from a creepy witch.

Tropes:

  • 555: The number to order the titular Mr. Bossman begins with these three numbers.
  • Acting Out a Daydream: While Rigby’s enjoying being popular at the beginning of his wish, it cuts back to reality where the rest of the group watches as he waves and talks to people that aren’t there.
  • All Just a Dream: The whole episode is revealed to be Benson trying out the machine at a Halloween store in preparation for the party. Dissatisfied with what he sees, he refuses to rent Racki.
  • Bathroom Break-Out: Wolfhard breaks out of the courthouse bathroom window and escapes after turning Pops into a werewolf.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: The theme of this year's special. All the tales are wishes the four experience and it being twisted in some way.
    • Benson's wish does technically come true but he's horrified when he actually congratulates Mordecai and Rigby for helping him stop the doll since it's something he would never say to them.
    • Pops' wish does technically happen since he winds up fleeing on an airplane, thus allowing him to travel as wished. Unlike the others, he's actually happy with the result even though he winds up turning into a werewolf.
    • Fives' wish does allow him to visit Celia...only to be grabbed by the zombie operator shortly after meeting her and the elevator falling and exploding (even though he's a ghost, so...).
    • Rigby's wish to be popular results in him and Mordecai being turned into chocolate and then eaten by the trick-or-treaters.
  • Big "NO!":
    • Fives when his flowers for Celia are destroyed in the elevator ride.
    • Benson when Racki tells him he won't get his security deposit back after he's been destroyed.
  • Brick Joke: At the start of the party before Benson unveils Racki, Mordecai mentions that he usually just gets streamers. At the end, when it's revealed it's another wish vision, Benson mentions he's just going to buy streamers.
  • Chekhov's Gun: At the beginning of Benson’s story, Mordecai and Rigby are watching a commercial for a lettuce guillotine and talking about how cool it is. Later in the story, it’s shown that they’ve actually bought one and it’s what they use to defeat Mr. Boss Man.
  • Dead All Along: After Fives gets off the elevator and tells Celia what happened, she tells him that the elevator repairman died several years ago.
  • Demonic Dummy: The titular “Mr. Boss Man” in Benson’s wish.
  • Dramatic Thunder: Thunder crashes and lightning strikes when some bullies dare Rigby to get a piece of candy from a creepy-looking house.
  • Evil Elevator: Fives' story involves getting trapped in one. The buttons even light up to look like a skull.
  • Faux Horrific: The thing that terrifies Benson the most about his vision of a demonic puppet coming to life and trying to kill him, is the end when he tells Mordecai and Rigby that they’re smart.
Benson: I’d never say something like that!
  • Halloween Episode: The plot of this episode is kicked off by Benson buying a Racki machine as entertainment for the group’s Halloween party.
  • Mistaken for Own Murderer: After Pops is turned into a werewolf by Wolfhard, the judge believes that Pops is Wolfhard and that he ate Pops.
  • Ominous Pipe Organ: While the repairman is working on the elevator Five is stuck in, he asks if he’d like to listen to some music and plays a very creepy organ tune.
Hi-Five: Do you have anything a little less ominous?
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: Wolfhard bites Pops who immediately turns into a werewolf when the full moon shines on him. He grows fangs, claws, and fur covering his entire body; even his clothes become furry.
  • Pungeon Master: The witch in “Chocolatude.”
Witch: Oh sugar, I nougat something like this might happen!
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Racki has red eyes and whoever he’s giving a vision to also gets them.
  • Rhymes on a Dime: Racki does this, but he struggles with finding a word that rhymes with “lady” for Five’s wish and also rhymes “popular” with “popular” for Rigby’s. His constant rhyming is lampshaded by Rigby after Benson makes a one-liner at the end of the episode.
Benson: Looks like someone’s wishes for riches has hit a few hitches.
Rigby: Dude! That sounds just like something Racki would say!
  • The Secret of Long Pork Pies: Mordecai and Rigby mention that the witch's home-made chocolate tastes delicious, even though the pieces look like human body-parts. It's not long before they get thrown into her machine and turned into candy themselves.
  • Shout-Out:
    • A lot of the costumes at the party. Rigby is dressed as M.Bison, Mordecai is Bruce Lee in his outfit from Game of Death, Muscle Man is Snake Plissken, Fives is Willow , Benson is Sherlock Holmes, Skips is Rambo, Pops is the 4th Doctor Who, Eileen is Kiki and Thomas is dressed as Sub-Zero.
    • Racki itself is similar to the wishing machine from the movie Big.
    • A man dressed as Raoul Duke can be seen in the background in one scene.
    • Mr. Bossman seems to be based on the character Slappy the Dummy from the Goosebumps novels.
    • When the werewolf says he's going to London, it's a reference to the John Landis film An American Werewolf in London.
    • "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon plays at the end of "Werepops."
    • Two of the girls eating the chocolate Rigby are dressed up as Ariel from The Little Mermaid and the famous Mexican self-portrait artist Frida Kahlo, respectively.
  • So Long, Suckers!: Racki says this word for word when he attempts to use the catapult to escape the Park Crew after robbing them.
  • Torches and Pitchforks: When Werepops tries to escape imprisonment, everyone in the courthouse pulls out torches and pitchforks. Muscle Man pulls out a rocket launcher.
  • Vignette Episode: This is the first Halloween episode not told in the Three Shorts format, featuring stories from four characters instead.
  • Werewolves Are Dogs: The courthouse security guard is able to control Pops in “Werepops” by blowing a dog whistle. He also hangs his head out of the top of the convertible he is escaping in with his mouth open like a dog.
  • Wicked Witch: One of these turns Mordecai and Rigby into chocolate in “Chocolatude.”
