Jeramie: In order to prevent Dethnaarok from destroying Tikyu, 20 warriors are gathered, allowing God King-Ohger to descend.
With their combined power, the plan is foiled, and the Ohsama Sentai heads towards its final battle.

After thwarting Dethnaarok's plan to destroy the planet, Jeramie challenges the Abyss King to one final duel to decide who will be ruler of the Bognaarok Empire.

At long last, the 2,000 year old feud is about to conclude...

Tropes

  • An Aesop: The Cycle of Revenge can only be broken when one side is willing to do so.
  • Broken Aesop: Downplayed. The show goes to great lengths to make clear that neither Humans nor Bognaarok are blameless for the wars that have defined relations between the two species. While technically true, two things undermine the message:
    • The lack of foreshadowing for Dethnaarok's kinder side prior to now doesn't help Jeramie's notion that he "isn't all bad," as the implication of other less-hostile remnants of the Empire is yet to be explored and Dethnaarok's penultimate scene outright demonstrates Klingon Promotion - It's hard to take Dethnaarok coming around at face-value when everything leading up to Gira's Kirk Summation has him acknowledging (and not caring) that he's perpetuating the issue.
    • Kamejim outing himself as the mastermind of the events of 2,000 years ago introduces a clear villain into an instance that's supposed to be an example of Grey-and-Gray Morality. While it doesn't make the war less tragic (or either side justified), it overshadows both factions needing to own up to mistakes.
  • Cycle of Revenge: Reconstructed. Dethnaarok's goal of murdering everybody is a warped attempt to put this cycle to an end with death as the equalizer. At first, it seems as though Jeramie will be forced to put him down despite his attempts to talk things out; contributing to the fighting. Gira stops him and comments on the retaliatory nature of the whole war: The Bognaarok will never stop fighting and should they win, humanity will simply re-surface and retaliate. He's the one that finally breaks the cycle by apologizing for humanity's part in all the fighting, which (after some grumbling) actually moves Dethnaarok into a Heel Realization. Kamejim then arrives and outs himself as the one that set the Cycle up in the first place.
Gira: He who strikes first is evil? The winner being just? None of that makes sense! What's really important...is who can apologize first.
  • Diabolus ex Machina: Just as Dethnaarok has come around to breaking the Cycle of Revenge, a beam of light comes in out of nowhere to vaporize him just after Kamejim reveals his true colors.
  • Disk-One Final Boss: Dethnaarok. The next episode is set two years later and will have completely new villains.
  • Due to the Dead: Tarantula Abyss leaves behind some flowers on the shadow that serves as Dethnaarok's remains.
  • Easily Forgiven: Downplayed. While Gira says that the Bognaarok's attacks on humanity are unforgivable, he does understand where they are coming from and sincerely apologizes for not seeing things from their perspective.
  • Finish Him!: Dethnaarok tells Jeramie that he'll only keep killing if he's let go. Jeramie acknowledges this and prepares to finish Dethnaarok off. Gira stops him, recognizing that this very Cycle of Revenge is why the factions can't agree on anything.
  • Gentle Touch vs. Firm Hand: Favoring Gentle Touch. Following up on Gerojim's declaration from the previous episode: Dethnaarok makes clear he'll keep fighting unless he's put down, forcing Jeramie to follow Gerojim's advice and stain his hands to shoulder the burden of the Bognaarok by cutting him down...only for Gira to stop him and tries to break the Cycle of Revenge himself by issuing an apology to Dethnaarok for humanity's part in the war(s). This works and warms the heart of the Abyss King. Then Kamejim arrives and fatally wounds him...
  • Hand Wave: When Hymeno asks Gerojim how is he still alive despite having consumed Shugod Souls (which would have killed him), Gerojim simply states that his Master of Illusion powers keeps his actual status ambiguous and therefore he is essentially both alive and dead, before fading away.
  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: Dethnaarok finally manages to see the error of his mindless hatred and comes around to the idea of co-existence. He's promptly impaled by Kamejim's staff, then nuked from orbit by an outside force; mocked by the Treacherous Advisor for abandoning his hatred.
  • Idiot Ball: Gira is the only monarch that attempts to help Jeramie free Dethnaarok when Kamejim impales him. Yanma actually pulls him back when the outside force is summoned and the others proceed to mindlessly stand there while Kamejim monologues and Jeramie struggles, giving the outside force's nuke more than enough time to reach landfall and destroy the redeemed Dethnaarok.
  • Klingon Promotion: A platoon of Sanagim ambush a weakened Dethnaarok after his battle with the heroes at the start of the episode, attempting to invoke this. He quickly shows them why he's the Abyss King.
  • Pet the Dog: Dethnaarok's been petting one for the past two millennia: a miniature God Tarantula dubbed Tarantula Abyss, which he's been protecting from his subjects. When the mini-Shugod offers to be eaten, Dethnaarok chases it off.
  • The Reveal:
    • The first two resulting from Jeramie getting the Ohsama Sentai to recognize Bognaarok as a sixth kingdom upon becoming king.
      • The first that Hymeno's examination of Gerojim reveals that Bognaarok DNA is very similar to human DNA, with the two races having diverged due to the former's use of Shugod Souls to empower them at the cost of their life force and gaining an insectoid appearance. This forces the Shugods to ally with the first kings out of survival.
      • We find out where the Bognaarok acquired the Shugod souls they've used to grow: from the Semishugods that caused the Fury of the Gods incident. Those souls absorb the eater's life-force in exchange for the power they give.
    • Dethnaarok has been protecting Tarantula Abyss all this time.
    • Kamejim was the "third party" Jeramie posited as the one that manipulated Humans and the Bognaarok into fighting 2,000 years ago.
  • Rule of Symbolism: After Dethnaarok gets vaporized, he leaves behind a shadow, evoking the imagery of a nuclear strike victim leaving behind their shadow.
  • Same Plot Sequel: Subverted. Much like the last two times a king was deposed, Jeramie proposes a duel between him and Dethnaarok. Unlike the other duels however, the "evil" side does not betray the heroes' trust and actually ends up coming around...as far as it gets them, at least.
  • Solar-Powered Magnifying Glass: Dethnaarok being obliterated by a beam of light from the sky above.
  • Take Up My Sword: In an odd anti-villain to hero version. In his last few moments, Dethnaarok passes on the Bognaarok's throne to Jeramie, entrusting that their people will thrive in his hands.
  • Wham Episode: Befitting the conclusion of the first arc, there are plenty of big reveals.
    • The Bognaarok got their Shugod Souls from the Semishugods, the same one used in the Fury of the Gods. While they are capable of turning them giant, it has the massive downside of possibly killing them at a moment's notice, exacerbated by taking multiple all at once.
    • Kamejim was the one who manipulated the Bognaarok and humanity into fighting 2,000 years ago, with his apparent Last Words being that he is an observer
  • Wham Line: Two from Kamejim, the first where he admits to cause the human/Bognaarok conflict and the last admitting that he is an observer.
  • Wham Shot:
    • Jeramie shows Gira and Rita a Shugod mass grave, explaining just how the Bognaarok gained their powers through their harvested Shugod Souls.
    • The preview for this episode has Gira hold something that looks like a small God Tarantula, as evident by the Extreme King-Ohger crown on its abdomen.
    • Gira apologizes to Dethnaarok for humanity's actions against the Bognaarok, dogeza style.
    • Kamejim's staff soaring through the air and impaling Dethnaarok.
    • Dethnaarok vaporized by a giant beam of light that has seemingly came from an outside force.

Jeramie: And so, the war between mankind and Bognaarok came to an end.
However, from far beyond Tikyu, this world ruled by six kings...
...a great peril draws near.
