Jeramie: Dethnaarok commences his plan to destroy Tikyu.
Devouring Shugod Souls, he grows gigantic, sinking into the planet's core.
Is there no way to stop him...?
And then, we have the man who one could reasonably claim is the cause of all this.
The man who rues over all... born only to be bested by Fate...
The king of the in-between, between a rock and a hard place.

With Dethnaarok's plan in motion, the kings have to create a deity even stronger than Extreme King Ohger. To do this, they must combine King Caucasus Kabuto with the other Shugods. However, all 20 Shugods must have pilots for this work.

Can the team find 14 others willing to help save the world?

Tropes

  • An Aesop:
    • Focus too much on the chance for failure, and you'll only sabotage your own success.
    • Kindness is great, but it doesn't solve everything.
    • Nobody is too small to make a difference.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: The episode starts with the mild-mannered Gerojim seemingly pulling a Face–Heel Turn, attacking Jeramie and outright brutalizing the man's entire philosophy in a few sentences. Eventually, he gives up the ghost and reveals he was merely testing Jeramie's resolve to fight.
  • Big Ball of Violence: The citizens of N'Kosopa get into one trying to get their hands on Yanma's OhgerCalibur, as they all volunteer to accompany him on his mission.
  • Big Damn Heroes: All of the major allies end up joining the fray as support pilots of God King-Ohger against Dethnarok.
  • Call-Back:
    • During Jeramie's pessimistic recap, he uses "rues over all" again.
    • Kogane and Boone are still playing the "tyrant king" game. She still doesn't have the evil laugh down.
  • The Chooser of the One: Premise of the episode. The monarchs need twenty pilots for God King-Ohger. The rulers spend the episode enlisting their friends and allies to assist them in the upcoming battle.
  • Cliffhanger: While Dethnaarok is brought down with the use of God King-Ohger, this only reverts him back to a human-sized form and the episode ends with the battle yet to be finished.
  • Gentle Touch vs. Firm Hand: During their fight, Gerojim tells Jeramie that while kindness and idealism are wonderful things, they don't solve every problem and Jeramie must be willing to get his hands dirty in order to shoulder the lives of others.
  • Heroic BSoD:
    • Jeramie’s feelings about what happened last episode leaks into his recap, to the point he can’t end it with his usual catchphrase. Gerojim snaps him out of it.
    • Gira spends the time he's supposed to be seeking out pilots for God King-Ohger hoarding his blade in his throne room, unwilling to conscript anyone into the fight. Douga confronts him and convinces him to put more at-stake.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: Shiokara begins bawling at the realization that Yanma has finally asked him to fight by his side.
  • Irony: King-Ohger ZERO was an attempt by Racules to make his own Guardian Spirit in defiance of the legends that shunned him, when in reality it protected nobody and reflected his isolating villainous nature; unable to stand up to the legend it imitated. God King-Ohger meanwhile is an example of the monarchs using the legends of old to make something new in order to safeguard the planet, fueled by the unity of all the kingdoms and the aides that keep them propped. It manages to take down Dethnarok effortlessly.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: Invoked. The rulers form God King-Ohger by combining Extreme King-Ohger with the newly-activated Caucasus Kabuto and the auxiliary Shugods; adding their servants to the line-up to handle the strain.
  • No-Harm Requirement: Gira has the other monarchs swear they won't attempt to sacrifice anyone to extract Dethnaarok from Tikyu's core.
  • Once More, with Clarity: A flashback to the previous episode shows that Gira's OhgerCalibur glowed when Boone held it, implying that Gira knew who one of the pilots was going to be all along.
  • Plot Parallel: Jeramie starts the episode in a mental funk due to his inability to convince his relative Dethnaarok to stand down; fearing he's doomed the planet. Gerojim, in a rare show of motivation, stages a fake Face–Heel Turn to spur Jeramie back to fighting shape and convince him to end the conflict. Later on, Gira's in a similar funk due to being put in a position where he has to send those he knows on a potential suicide mission. Douga has to man-handle Gira and wrest his OhgerCalibur from him in order to properly confront his lord and motivate him.
  • Secret Test of Character: Gerojim pretends to pull a Face–Heel Turn in order to test Jeramie's resolve despite what happened last episode.
  • Take a Third Option: Rather than become the king of a united Tikyū or the "In-Between" of human and Bugnaarok, Jeramie resolves to instead defeat Dethnaarok to directly become the new king of the Bognaarok and establish the underground tribe as an official nation, thereby allying with the other kings in order to still bring about a unified Tikyū as he had wanted.
  • Unwanted Assistance: Deconstructed. While the other rulers are seeking out pilots for God King-Ohger, Gira's hoarding his sword in his throne room and won't let anyone touch it; unwilling to get anyone hurt in the upcoming mission. Douga has to outright force it out of his hand, discovering that he was one of the chosen. Gira protests but Douga is insistent; re-affirming that having something to protect (in this case his family) allows people to defy logic and achieve the impossible. This finally snaps Gira out of his funk and convinces him to approach Kogane and Boone.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Jeramie's usually perceptive of others, but being in such a mental funk lets Gerojim pull quite the fast one on him. Thankfully, the Bognaarok was trying to help Jeramie rather than hurt him.

Jeramie: And so, Tikyu was saved. Now, the time has come... to bring the 2,000-year feud to an end, once and for all.
