Following on with the previous episode, Ben fights Ultimate Kevin for the last time while Gwen is still working to cure Kevin with the help of Cooper and Darkstar.Tropes in this episode
- Back from the Dead: The Andromeda aliens are brought back to life after the powers absorbed by Kevin gets brought back.
- Betrayal Insurance: Correctly predicting that Darkstar would try to steal the power for himself after it's drained out of Kevin, Ben secretly instructs Cooper to create a failsafe in the machine so that all the stolen power will return to where it belongs.
- Bookends: Aggregor gained his mutation at Los Soledad. Kevin loses his at the same base.
- Call-Back: Darkstar gives the team an idea on how to get rid of Ultimate Kevin's mutation - through the Dominus Librium.
- Calling the Old Man Out: Kevin attempts this on Harvey, but it ends up inverted, with old man calling him out.Kevin: You tried to take my real dad’s place, you convinced my Ma to throw me out on the streets when I was 11 years old…
Harvey: We didn't kick you out, Kevin! You demolished our house.Kevin: Whatever! If Ma ever loved Dad, then she wouldn’t have remarried.
Harvey: You watch your mouth. Your mother loved your late father more than me and you more than either of us. […] I’d never let her see you this way. She was proud of what you were becoming, I won’t let you break her heart again. - Calling Your Attacks: Ben calls out the attack that ultimately defeats Kevin.Ben: Sonic...DOOOOOOOM!
- Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Darkstar, who helps the team get rid of Kevin's powers, immediately takes them for himself, betraying them. However, since he had pretty much betrayed the team every other time, the team established a failsafe in order to take said power away from him. He gets beaten rather quickly.
- Cool Old Guy: Max continues to prove himself one when he goes after Ultimate Kevin. Sure, he doesn't succeed, but he did put a decent fight.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: Kevin takes one look at Cooper's new look and assumes that he’s trying to make time with Gwen.
- Crazy-Prepared: After cloning himself as Echo Echo to fight Kevin, Ben has one of the copies hide in the trunk of his car so that he'll still survive even if Kevin were to destroy the other clones.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: After many hardships, fall outs and failures in the previous episodes, the team finally achieves their undisputed victory with reverting Kevin's mutation as well as bringing the Andromeda Five back to life.
- Foreshadowing: Just after Ben saves Cooper from Kevin, he whispers something into the former's ear as Cooper nods his head in agreement. It turns out that Ben knew that Darkstar would try to steal all the power for himself after they drained it out of Kevin, so he instructed Cooper to create a failsafe that would ensure that all of the stolen power will return to where it rightfully belongs.
- Hidden Depths: After Ultimate Kevin vents to Ben about how he gets a bum deal, being turned into a monster while Ben becomes world famous. Ben responds by saying that he doesn't really like being famous and would prefer to be anonymous again.
- I Lied: Ben initially promised to go about with Gwen's plan. He doesn't.Ben: I'm sorry about that. But I can't let you hurt anyone else.
Gwen: Ben, you promised we'd try it my way first.
Ben: Yeah...I lied. - It's All My Fault: Ben considers the circumstances that led to Ultimate Kevin be his fault, which is the reason why he's taking it so personally.
- Laser-Guided Karma: After helping turn themselves back to normal in "Trade-Off", Darkstar punches Kevin in the face and gives him a black eye out of spite. After taking all the power Ultimate Kevin had through the Dominus Librium, a newly-cured Kevin returns the favor here.
- Out-Gambitted: Darkstar only agrees to help Gwen use what remains of the Dominus Librium to drain the power out of the Kevin just so he can steal it for himself. Unfortunately for him, Ben already predicted that he would do this and secretly instructed Cooper to prepare a failsafe that will ensure that all of the stolen power returns to where it belongs.
- Riddle for the Ages: It's not explained why Julie's bonded with Ship after the day is saved.
- Shirtless Scene: Both Kevin and Darkstar (In his handsome form, thankfully) get one at the end of the episode.
- Timeshifted Actor: The adult Cooper is now voiced by Chris Pratt instead of Corey Padnos.
- Took a Level in Badass: Downplayed. Cooper was already badass with his Technopath powers, but he was quite short and plumb. Since Alien Force, however, he's gotten much taller and buff. It even takes a second for Ben to recognize him!
- Wicked Stepfather: Ultimate Kevin perceives his step-father as this, as in his eyes he tried to replace his real father and made his mother kick him out. This is subverted, however. His step-father really tried to be good, and in reality it was Kevin who ran away and destroyed their house.
- You Are Not My Father: After Kevin yells this at his stepfather Harvey, the latter responds by saying that he’s been married to Kevin’s mother for more than three quarters of Kevin’s life and he tried to be a Parental Substitute.
