"I think I need to remind you what the relationship between predator and prey is like! In a nutshell: I attack, you die."
The Ant God shortly before commencing an attack on a vixen that it's been trying to eat for eleven years, "For tuna the can tolls" roleplay of White Dark Life

"What is this dinosaur's deal with these guys? It's not like there isn't bigger game to chase. Hell, the fucking T. rex probably would have fed her for a month. So why does she keep going after them? Maybe to dinosaurs all people look like running middle fingers. Hey, it makes about as much sense as any other reason."
The Nostalgia Critic, on the Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park III

"Oh, come on! What's wrong with this monster? Some of those people look delicious!"

"It's no mystery anymore. The shark is deliberately stalking the Brody family, and is literally seeking revenge for its exploding death by Chief Brody in the original Jaws. I know it's probably supposed to be from the same shark family, but I like to think it's the same shark that somehow resurrected itself. I mean, the shark here actually follows Brody's widow from Massachusetts to the Bahamas, and it roars. If you can accept all that, you can accept anything."

"As a rule, whales are not very hard to get away from if you are good at dodging—if you've only got a quick swerve. But this one that came after Clippa and myself was a very mean whale. Every time he lost us under a stone or something he'd come back and hunt and hunt till he routed us out into the open again. I never saw such a nasty, persevering brute."
The Silver Fidgit, The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle

"It liked my arm so much, Smee, that it has followed me ever since, from sea to sea and from land to land, licking its lips for the rest of me."
Captain Hook lamenting about the crocodile's persistence, Peter Pan

Bazelgeuse then spends its every waking moment searching for its next meal, and searching for people's days to ruin. The hate inside of him means that once he has found a target, he will pursue it relentlessly throughout the New World, stopping for nothing and no one until the very spirit and then body (in quick succession) of his intended is destroyed. It is a gruesome sight to see someone chased down like so, but that is nature, and nature is CRUE-[gets crushed by a Bazelgeuse]

Huge predators need a large amount of energy, so choosing between attacking a slow-moving but large and injured herbivore or the comparatively small and less nutrious protagonist, the apex predator will obviously drop everything it's doing, and chase down our interstellar explorers instead! It will likely hunt our main characters for a good portion of the plot, expending far more energy than it would gain from eating a human. It will not give up the hunt even if our explorers manage to injure it and drive it away temporarily. Never should an apex predator know when to cut its losses for easier prey. Just treat them like a videogame monster! [+2000 XP]

You see, humans are what we call "persistence hunters." Which means we kill by running down our prey until they beg us for death. [...] Imagine for a moment you're this big fucking turkey and it's almost time for Thanksgiving. After a long and arduous battle, you run away as far as you can. But, every time you turn around, he's still there. And even worse, IT'S WEARING YOUR SKIN.

"If you leave the house of madness...I will hunt you down...Catch you...And bring you back to insanity..."
Remor to Fran, Fran Bow

"You still don't get it, do you!? He'll find her! THAT'S WHAT HE DOES! THAT'S ALL HE DOES!"
Kyle Reese, The Terminator

i think we can all agree: this fish is an asshole, a normal fish would have swam away a long time ago, this fish has a vendetta, he is absolutely out of pocket
