A 1980 German children's fantasy series about a little witch (the titular namesake) who plays a lot of practical jokes and goes on adventures with her friends. It is a popular series in Germany and was created by Elfie Donnelly as an audio drama series. There are cartoons (including a sequel series), movies, books, magazines, and a lot of merchandise, as well. The older tapes are popular with collectors.

Blocksberg, Bibi's surname, is an alternate name of the Brocken mountain in the Harz region of Germany. The Brocken mountain has traditionally been linked with witchcraft.

Magic tends to play a vital part in the series even though it often is a cause of trouble. As a consequence, Bibi's mother, also a witch, has to fix things. Bibi and most of the other characters live in Neustadt, a fictional city. Its mayor is a main antagonist of the series. He is characterised as incompetent, arrogant and lazy. There is an ongoing conflict with Bibi who tends to look after the interests of the townspeople.
