    The 2020 Ladder Match
The entire 2020 Money in the Bank ladder match, which took place with both men's and women's briefcases hanging above the roof of Titan Towers, and six men and six women starting from the ground floor, was predictably full of chaos, bizarre moments, and Mythology Gags.

  • Despite her usual Cloudcuckoolander antics, Asuka ends up being the only sensible one of the bunch, starting from sneak attacking the rest of the women from above so she could take the elevator unopposed, and avoiding the mass confrontations that ensued between the others, so she could get to the roof first. Turned into an Awesome Moment when she actually won using these tactics, rather against the grain of WWE's usual booking.
  • When all the men begin at the gym room:
    • Otis putting his "Steaks and Weights" training to good use, temporarily trapping AJ Styles under a heavily weighted bar.
    • AJ begs Rey Mysterio to to help him out of this predicament; Rey gives the natural dismissive reaction of a Face when a Heel asks to help him.
    • King Corbin breaks the giant mirror in the gym... and looks at it in horror, appearing to be fearful of the seven years of bad luck usually associated with that. (Almost as if he read that one Reddit post about the seven-year burial of Kane after he did that in 2003...)
  • Several wrestlers run past the bathrooms. The last one to reach them, Rey Mysterio, is distracted by the flush, and out comes Brother Love! He does his "I LOOOOOOVE YOU!" routine to a bewildered Rey... before doing his flies up.
  • Most of the women have made it to the upper limit of the elevators, and are waiting outside one door expecting to see Asuka... but they pick the wrong door and meet with some of the men who are brawling.
    • And then when Asuka's elevator does open, she sees the brawling outside, ducks back into the elevator, then pulls a Screw This, I'm Outta Here and sneaks away.
  • When several wrestlers are laid out, Doink the Clown (or rather an intern in Doink the Clown makeup) appears from behind a chair and is never mentioned again.
  • Dana Brooke finds her way into a conference room, and spots an ornamental Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above the table. She takes it and celebrates like she's won the whole thing, even though it looks different from the real thing.note  Cue Stephanie McMahon to remind her that the briefcase is on the roof.
    • Apparently, that room is specifically the "Money in the Bank Conference Room". There's humour to be derived from assuming that, for some reason, all other WWE Gimmick Matches have their own conference rooms. Imagine what the Hell in a Cell conference room would be like...
    • This whole this can be even more hilarious if interpreted like this: Stephanie wasn't even really there and Dana is either delusional or seeing some sort of ghost or hologram. The close up when showing Stephanie helps add to this interpretation.
    • And then Dana Brooke gets a painting smashed over her head. And she's still wearing it in a later scene.
  • Paul Heyman is about to enjoy a buffet table by himself, when most of the wrestlers involved descend on the room. After a long Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering? phase, Otis declares a Food Fight! Buffet is tossed left and right, with the match briefly forgotten as the food fight turns into a men versus women affair, while Paul Heyman is desperately trying to shield himself with a buffet tray.
    • Just the fact that Paul Heyman is about to enjoy a buffet table by himself.
    • During the food fight, Rey Mysterio finds himself in a Kirifuda Clutch from Shayna Baszler. As soon as he is let go, he is caught in the middle of a full-body clash between Nia Jax and Otis. Shayna throws her hands up as if to say "Nothing to do with me...".
  • Otis pays a visit to the kitchen, encounters John Laurinaitis, Johnny Ace tells him "People Power!" and Otis gives him a Pie in the Face.
  • AJ finds a poster of The Undertaker's entrance at WrestleMania. He goes through a Flashback to the "Boneyard Match" they had previously just from the poster. Then he sees a dimly lit room set up with a coffin. Then Aleister Black traps him in it. It would be Nightmare Fuel if it weren't so much fun.
  • Asuka is desperately asking a janitor for directions to the roof. The problem is, she's asking in Japanese, so the bewildered janitor has no idea what she's saying.
  • Dana slips on a wet floor. That is all.
  • AJ and Bryan brawl their way into Vince's office, and are met with a stern talking-to from the man himself. They put the chairs back and leave quietly. AJ tells Bryan that they both looked like idiots in there, and they share a moment of camaraderie before continuing the brawl as if nothing happened.
  • Baron Corbin throwing Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black off the rooftop. The reactions of the fans were that Corbin just committed murder.
  • Baron Corbin and Asuka get into a fight at the top of the ladder, despite the fact that they were both targeting separate briefcases and thus had no reason to interfere with one another.
  • How the Men's Money in the Bank match ends. AJ Styles has unhooked the briefcase, but both he and Corbin are holding it, so a winner hasn't been decided yet. Suddenly, Elias appears out of nowhere and hits Corbin with a guitar. Corbin falls, which would make AJ Styles the winner... except he ends up fumbling the briefcase and it drops into Otis's hands. It takes Otis a moment to realize that the win just dropped into his arms.

    Others
  • In the 2012 Money in the Bank match, it comes down to John Cena and Big Show. Cena's plan was to repeatedly hit Big Show with the hanging briefcase to make him fall, however, Cena pulled the briefcase too hard and the handle snapped, officially winning the match for Cena. Cena played it off by celebrating and repeatedly hitting Big Show with his newly won Money in the Bank.
    • There's no doubt Cena was the original winner, but the fact that his win was still an unplanned victory in a sense is still funny.
  • The ending of the 2021 women's match was pretty funny. You have the classic 3 ladders set up with 2 people on each ladder. Then from out of fucking nowhere Nikki ASH climbs on the back of one of the other competitors and snatches the briefcase from under everyone. Almost a Super Hero indeed.
  • The 2023 women's match has ring announcer Samantha Irvin mistakenly announcing Bayley as a member of The Judgment Day rather than as a member of her own stable, Damage CTRL.
