  • Naive Angels mode. Aka some of the most hilarious 'attempts' at censorship you’ll ever see in a Platinum game. Highlights being the presented heart in the Deadly Sin ritual replaced with a tomato and Rodin’s cigar replaced with a donut which he still lights. Not to mention how inconsistent it is: Yes, Bayonetta no longer strips naked when summoning her demons and her Demon Masquerade forms are more covered up, but everyone still swears like pirates and Queen Butterfly still wears little more than bra and panties.
  • Bayonetta once again forcing Enzo on a seemingly meaningless shopping trip, with him bemoaning she now made the opening baseball game ticket he worked so hard to get no better than toilet paper. He then rips it in half by accident.
    • While driving Bayonetta around town, he's listening in on the game he's missing out on from the radio, and is not happy with how it's going.
Enzo: Lowsy bums! [flicks radio off] Everybody's gettin' screwed today.
  • Rodin apparently working at a pizza truck with penguin mascots and taking his orders very seriously.
  • Viola falling out of the sky and onto Enzo. But being too tired, she passes out on top of him. Enzo's not too angry about this since his face was smooshed into Viola's chest.
    • When he doesn't notice the large wave coming in, he tries to tells what he thinks are on-lookers that this isn't what it looks like.
  • As some Homunculi jump onto the tables on opposite sides of Bayonetta, Bayonetta pulls out the tablecloth beneath them. She lets out an amused "Ooh" when she realizes she didn't pull out any of the dishes or cutlery.
    • Immediately after this another Homunculus lands on the table and destroys it, prompting Bayonetta to give it a dirty look for ruining her neat trick.
  • Cheshire’s first appearance in the game: After Rodin’s debriefing about the multiverses and Viola’s explanation about the threat, Rodin then asks if Viola’s going to introduce Cheshire, who’s casually sitting beside the bar. We’re then treated to demonic music as Cheshire is introduced (complete with showing his page in the Book of Infernal Demons), making him seem like a threat. The music then abruptly stops as he takes a puff of his pipe and then takes a more showy turn as he summons his Penny-farthing bicycle (complete with a spotlight shining on him while he makes an sound sounding like 'Ta-dah!') and starts riding it. What really sells it is Viola’s reaction.
Viola: Huh? Oh, damn it, Cheshire! (starts chasing after him) You know you’re not supposed to pop out like that!
    • What makes it funnier is that Cheshire can be seen wandering around the bar before Rodin brings him to Viola’s attention, likely making the player think "Uh...is anyone else seeing this?"
  • As Viola is going off on explaining Singularity, Bayonetta sticks a lollipop into the girl's mouth to shut her up momentarily, thinking she might have led Singularity right to them.
  • Bayonetta's reasoning to helping out Viola? It seems better than being stuck playing solitaire in a "literal man cave".
  • How do Bayonetta and Viola reach Thule? Riding on Cheshire while he rides his penny-farthing bicycle (which can conveniently fly). All the way from New York to Japan to the southern Indian Ocean not too far from Madagascar.
  • Barely avoiding incoming Homunculi attacks, Bayonetta manages to land gracefully while Cheshire and Viola fall to the ground on their faces (with Cheshire at least catching Viola in his paw). Bayonetta just sighs as if to say "See what I have to put up with?"
  • Easy to miss due to the sheer chaos of the action, but during the early Shibuya segment where Bayonetta chases Iridescent while riding Gomorrah, when they go through a water canal, Gomorrah is wearing motorboats as though they were skiing shoes.
  • Early in the game Bayonetta summons Madama Butterfly against a Pannus only to find her attacks only cause it to split apart leading to an annoyed and disappointed reaction from her. Much later in the game Bayonetta summons her against the Pannus' enhanced variant Duplicatus. This time Madama is prepared and expertly takes the tricky Homunculus down. What follows is a genuinely warm exchange of smirks between her and Bayonetta, like two friends sharing a secret joke.
  • In Tokyo, Bayonetta meets a spider-demon - Phantasmaraneae - who remarks he thought he sensed decent prey but only found an ugly witch.
Bayonetta: (hitting his head with the back of her hand) With all those eyes, I thought you'd be more perceptive.
    • When Bayonetta knocks on the spider-demon's head it makes a very hollow noise.
  • Luka reenacts the first time he was introduced, but this time trying to charm Bayonetta. Then as more Homunculi swarm them, he suggests she gets rid of them while he runs off. Bayonetta sighs at Luka for not explaining why he is in this other world.
  • During her first fight with Strider, Bayonetta is completely unfazed by his appearance, even though she can tell he's not angel, demon, or entirely human, and just states she'll be taming the beast. Moreover, she seems to genuinely enjoy fighting someone "with no strings attached," and thus treats the whole thing as even more of an erotic thrill than usual. She even pouts when he runs away. This becomes all the funnier in hindsight after its revealed that it was Luka she was fighting and doing all those dominatrix things to the whole time.
    • At the climax of the fight, Strider and Bayonetta's fight crashes into an office, where a monitor with a smiling emoticon is thrown at Bayonetta. She kicks it aside, causing the monitor to flicker and change to an upset face instead.
    • Even funnier after Origins reveals that Cereza has dealt with faeries before. Being able to fight a giant faerie wolf on her own power must be SO cathartic after the Puzzle Game struggles she went through in Avalon.
  • The Dead End Express. Imagine Cavelier R but with one major difference. Instead of a demonic motorcycle that splits apart into buzz-saw tipped clubs, it’s one of those kiddie rides found at the mall with buzz-saws.
    • The Demon Masquerade is even better. Bayo fuses with Wartrain Gouon. Her upper body is sticking out of a mini locomotive and it looks like she becomes the smokestack.
    • Its Masquerade Rage starts off awesome with Bayonetta, in Masquerade form, using portal magic as she blitzes around the area running over all enemies in range. The finishing move however, has Bayonetta derail and crash before she quickly composes herself as if nothing happened. And this clumsy finish can still do damage!
  • Upon reuniting with Viola, after seeing her in a at first impressive display of fighting skills, Bayonetta gets to see a rather unflattering moment as a bell falls on the girl, trapping her in darkness and causing her to start muttering in panic about the walls closing in. When Bayonetta tries to question this we get a Suspiciously Specific Denial from Viola.
Viola: Hey, don't get it twisted okay! I'm definitely not horribly claustrophobic at all, got it?
  • After the boss fight with the Cumulonimbus, Viola tries to get Bayonetta to high-five her. Bayonetta reluctantly lets her by lazily holding her hand high enough, which Viola eagerly accepts.
    • Shortly after that, on one of Bayonetta's comments, Viola tries to brag that she could have easily squashed a 'bug' like the Homunculus they just fought by herself. Midway through, however, Bayonetta starts shooting at her, with Viola managing to clumsily dodge the bullets. While it's immediately shown she was shooting at three Homunculi trying to sneak up on Viola, it can also be seen as Bayonetta not-so-subtly telling Viola to shut up.
  • Viola as she escapes an area doesn't notice her butt is on fire until she takes a moment to catch her breath. When she notices this, she panics and starts cartoonishly running towards the nearest body of water to put it out.
    • Even better? You get to control her while she runs. The cherry on top? If you avoid hitting any obstacles, you get an achievement for putting out the fire without hitting anything!
  • As Viola is pursuing Luka, he gets his head stuck in a cauldron and is sent rolling on a pile of cannonballs, knocking over the alternate China equivalent of Enzo. All he does is express annoyance at being knocked over rather than concern for Luka falling off the side of the wall.
    • The next time Viola encounters Luka, she sees him smacking face first into a pillar and fall towards the lava below. The funniest part is that Viola only expresses mild concern at this because she clearly knows that Luka will come out of this okay.
  • Queen Butterfly is summoned to fight the Homunculi boss of the alternate China level, and is so large she can breach the clouds while on her side. How does she fight? By blowing bubbles and chilling like she's in a bath.
  • As they defeat the boss from the alternate China universe who is a nod towards Sun Wu Kong, the climax cutscene for him is hilarious. Just like the Monkey King of myth, he's locked in by a golden headband, thrown into some nearby mountains (five peaks, in fact), and then crushed beneath said mountains.
  • When Bayonetta starts sinking into the sand, she looks around quizzically before seemingly giving up with a pose that just says, "Fine, this might as well happen".
  • Baal accepts a temporary contract with Bayonetta, and is so pleased she offers to sing her new mistress a song. Just as the frog demon stands up and prepares to serenade Bayonetta, the witch curtly cuts her off. Even funnier, Baal freezes on the spot as if contemplating what to do after Bayonetta shuts her up like that.
Bayonetta: Save the auditions for later.
  • As she dodges an attack from Murus, Bayonetta gets some jiggle physics.
  • After Baal devours the boss for the stage, Bayonetta jokes she'll have a hard time after such a large lunch. Baal starts fading away with Bayonetta quickly interjecting that she was just joking.
  • Jeanne's stealth mission sections. To avoid getting noticed by the Homunculi, she has some very interesting hiding choices:
    • She can mimic the pose of a poster she stands in front of, which the Homunculi don't seem to notice as they walk by.
    • To regain some health, Jeanne can take a shower, which is exclusive to the first two stealth missions. However, a passing Homunculi can take notice and try to take a peek. Jeanne quickly drags them inside the shower and takes care of them.
      Jeanne: I've killed for less.
    • Jeanne can also regain some health by going to the bathroom, which is also exclusive to the first two stealth missions and requires toilet paper.
      Jeanne: Ahh, Back to business.
      • Here's the best part...We actually hear birds tweeting instead of the typical bathroom sounds when Jeanne uses the restroom, which is an audible pun about answering the call to mother nature AKA satisfying the bodily urge to either urinate or defecate. You even get a bonus called "Nature's Call".
    • And the cherry on top of the hilarity sundae - if she finds a teacup, stealth goes out the window. Jeanne changes out of her Pretty in Mink and throws on the classical Umbran hair weave... plus the mask of her "Cutie J" persona, which she dons with the Badass Creed formerly exclusive to the outfit's description in previous games. It basically acts like a Super Star and lets her ignore laser barriers, kill Homunculi by touching them, and otherwise just rampage through the facility.
Jeanne: Those distant, hear the sound... Those close by, see the spectacle... Evildoers, fear final justice, because the Platinum Knight has arrived to defend the weak and innocent! CUTIE J IS HERE!
  • Upon defeating the boss of Side Chapter 3, it falls into the lava and gives the thumbs up.
  • In the alternate reality of France, Bayonetta finds out to her dismay that Enzo apparently works for the police. She remarks that she finds him more annoying on the opposing side.
  • During the battle with the possessed Phantom Thief Rosa, she summons an Infernal Demon all her own. Which is... the Umbran Clock Tower. Yep, the same building that appears broken in both the other games now appears intact as a demon from Inferno. It's such an odd choice that the music completely stops as the camera just stares at it for a moment, as if the game is saying "Er, yeah, your eyes don't deceive you".
  • The Homunculi possessing the French military start a flash mob dance in what seems to be a nod to "Thriller" during the Paris section. Given that Singularity directly controls all Homunculi and he doesn't gain anything from it either, this implies he ordered them to be possessed and dance purely to take the piss out of Bayonetta.
  • In a mixture of awesome and hilarious, Phantom Thief Bayonetta suddenly starts a dance off between her and Prime Bayo. Prime Bayo is more than happy to take on the challenge.
  • During the finale boss battle of the alternate France, Baal Zabul fights by singing a concert to explode the parasite Homunculi that approach. During the second phase, a portal to Inferno opens under her so demon arms holding glowsticks can emerge and wave to the concert.
    • Right before she starts singing, she even clears her throat ("Ahem"), showing that, like Queen Butterfly before her, she's definitely having a good time.
    • Midway through her performance, her fans show up from Inferno waving glowsticks. It's as adorable as it is hilarious and unexpected.
  • With the trio together again thanks to Lukaon, Bayonetta and Luka begin rather obviously flirting. Viola simply looks away, clearly a bit uncomfortable as many teenagers are when seeing their parents act like that.
  • Luka swings in and attempts to kick the combined form of Singularity... and of course fails miserably when Singularity teleports out of the way, instead splatting onto the nearby wall. Bayo's so shocked all she can do is hold her pose with her gun out. Luka then tries to recover some dignity as he poses on his side and holds his hand out for his hat. It starts falling too far away, causing him to scramble and dive before it hits the ground.
  • Seeing he has gained control of the Strider transformation, Bayonetta remarks teasingly that she might prefer this look for Luka even compared to his normal body. Luka jokes back that this form is just the natural evolution of his roguish good looks.
  • At the end of the game, even with the confidence boost, Viola still gets smacked in the face by her father's scarf and misses catching Cheshire's blade form, knocking down tables and crates of wine. Rodin just tells her he's putting that on her tab.
