Fridge Brilliance

  • All the members of BroZone having different lives really reflect the ways celebrities end up after being on top.
    • John Dory is more the nostalgic one who wants to reignite his past (even if he is the one who broke them up). This is like how celebrities go back to the past roles thinking they are still good but knowing that time is not helping them.
    • Spruce settled down and uses his celebrity history to promote his resort. This is just like how celebrities end up in all kinds of ads and small roles for there family. Also being on an island full of puppets is a cleaver reference to celebrities getting "Sesame Street" Cred and how he dose this more for his family.
    • Clay being the more paranoid one like Branch was is just like how some celebrities (like Randy Quaid) who live in fear and consumed in conspiracies theories about the world and drags others in there delusions whether real or not.
    • Floyd is the star that still has it (and is the least that changed out of them all) but has to work with some starry eyed youths who take advantage of him. This is like how celebrities that are still big find the ever changing world toss them around to change there work or take advantage of there talents.
    • Branch is the Former Child Star who lived most of his life as a big star and once he grow up has no understanding of what life is like outside his fame making him more ostracized by the ones around him.
  • The opening flashback where BroZone split up clearly takes place before the Pop Trolls were first captured by the Bergens, long before the events of the first film. With Branch mentioning that none of his brothers ever visited or contacted him in the decades since then, it makes perfect sense that John Dory would go to Bergen Town - which is built around the original troll tree - when looking for Branch. He likely doesn't know where the current Pop Village is, or that it even exists, and he simply started his search at the place where he last saw his youngest brother. Branch just happened to be at that very place for Bridget and Gristle's wedding the day John Dory came looking for him.
  • Branch being part of a boy band explains why he was so natural in perfectly mimicking the dance moves of the K-Pop Gang and the Reggaeton Trolls back in Trolls World Tour. Their all up beat dance bands that remind him of his past and how he used to dance like them.
    • Another element of Fridge Brilliance related to the Reggaeton Gang is when Viva recognises Poppy as her sister and she calls her "hermana". Why doesn't Poppy ask what "hermana" means since she would be the type to ask about an unfamiliar word that is part of another language? It's because that in the month between Trolls World Tour and Trolls Band Together, she has probably interacted with the Reggaeton Gang enough that she picked up some of their language.
  • Possibly intentional but Floyd's hair color is pink/magenta, a color that can be described as a red that is also the color of The Heart. In addition, to that an eagle-eyed viewer will notice that he is the shortest of his five brothers, with shortness being usually associated with the most sensitive and smallest of a group.
    • There's also the 'Pink Floyd' pun.
  • The events of World Tour indirectly played a significant role in this film. Namely, John Dory only finding out Branch was alive after hearing he helped stop Barb's "Rock Apocalypse", which set the rest of the film in motion. So if it wasn't for Barb, Brozone wouldn't have reunited, Floyd wouldn't have be saved and Poppy never would've found Viva.
  • It may seem strange that Spruce was able to have children with his wife being a different looking species but if you look closely you can see that they have some Troll traits. Like being smaller than the others and having troll ears as opposed to not having ears like their mother and their hair is standing up similar to a Trolls.
  • Throughout the previous films and specials, Branch has often been the Only Sane Man who tries to keep Poppy in order, and he frequently objects whenever she becomes dead set on her goal and abandons all reason in pursuit of it. Along with the already established trauma of his grandmother's death, this film also reveals that Branch's brother John Dory was a controlling perfectionist whose obsession with hitting the "Perfect Family Harmony" ended in disaster and the brothers parting ways for twenty years. Branch knows all too well what too much ambition can do to a troll.
    • And like many stories of ambition taking over, they probably started BroZone to have fun, but started losing sight of it as they got more popular, especially when you can imply that they started the band before Branch was born.
  • The Bros not knowing how or when Grandma Rosiepuff died would explain why they were so okay with splitting up after Floyd's rescue—if they thought Branch had had a normal upbringing, they would be less keen on letting him be alone again.
  • As the youngest of the BroZone siblings, Branch takes after all of his brothers in different ways.
    • John Dory has a poor grasp on appropriate social behaviour, as shown when he barges in on Gristle and Bridget's wedding with no regard for their special event, and he also seems to be a Gadgeteer Genius judging by all the devices and gizmos he uses.
    • Spruce is considered the heartthrob of the group, but he's the only one of the older brothers who eventually settled down and started a family. Some trolls throughout the franchise - such as Barb in the second film - have occasionally commented on Branch's good looks, implying that he's considered handsome by troll standards, and by this film's events, he and Poppy have become an Official Couple.
    • Despite being the "Fun One" of the group, Clay is actually The Cynic, he likes to read sad books, and is paranoid enough to put countless safety measures all around his and Viva's carnival hideout. Branch has often been shown throughout the series to be Crazy-Prepared for any potential problem, and even after overcoming his trauma-induced depression, he still has trouble expressing joy, enjoys sad music - as shown when he visited the Country Trolls in the second film - and is usually the least enthusiastic when Poppy puts one of her plans into action.
    • Floyd is the "Sensitive One" of the group and clearly the sibling Branch was closest to, he tries his best to calm down the brothers before the show starts in the prologue, then reassures a younger Branch that the resulting falling out wasn't his fault. Branch often serves as a similar voice of reason to Poppy when her ambitions get too out of hand, and tends to have a better grasp in places where she's Innocently Insensitive, but he's also always the first to support her when she's at her lowest point.
  • When writing the fake letter to trick BroZone into coming, Velvet signs it as "Floyd, The Sensitive One", as if to imply that Floyd's own name wouldn't be enough to clarify which member of the band - and by extension, the family - he was. Even before splitting up, backstage the BroZone siblings only ever referred to each other by their real names rather than their stage nicknames, because - as actual brothers - they all loved and valued each other as individuals. It's a clear sign of Velvet's loveless, callous personality that she would assume the brothers only recognised and valued each other for their roles in the band, because she herself only values her own sibling that way.
  • The movie at the beginning teased the concept of Poppy and Branch getting married to one another much to their embarrassment. During the climax, Poppy and Viva were able to add onto BroZone's Perfect Family Harmony, emphasis on Family. A married couple unifies the couple as a family in themselves, and through that union integrates their respective families together. It seems Poppy and Branch have more than thought about marriage.
  • With what this movie reveals about Branch's backstory, his dislike of music and singing in the first film makes a lot more sense. He was initially part of a band with his brothers, only for that to fall apart after their disastrous concert, leading to them not speaking to each other for twenty years. And then shortly thereafter, his grandma got eaten when he accidentally lured Chef to their house by singing. With all those painful memories associated with music, would you be able to bring yourself to sing again?

Fridge Horror

  • John Dory mentions that on the night of their failed concert, it was supposed to be part of a tour across a trail which reveals that there were other Pop Troll-occupied villages besides the main one. This leads into the horrific realisation that the other Pop Villages' entire populations were taken and eaten with the main village only surviving because they were running out of trolls. Imagine the hell that John Dory went through when one of the villages he was performing at was attacked by the Bergens.
  • When they reunite, John Dory explains that he found out Branch was alive after learning about how he and Poppy stopped Queen Barb's "Rock Apocalypse". While he implies he merely heard it through word of mouth, John Dory - along with the rest of the BroZone siblings - was likely affected when Poppy destroyed the Music Strings and (temporarily) all the world's music with it.
  • Tiny Diamond mentions that he's only a month old, confirming the same amount of time has passed since the events of World Tour. It's later specified that Velvet and Veneer have been holding Floyd captive for two months, and he's only just started fading away during the events of this film. While this was seemingly the inevitable outcome of them draining his talent, the Strings being destroyed in World Tour may have weakened Floyd further and sped up the process, possibly implying that Poppy's actions in the previous film inadvertently cost him valuable time.
  • More Fridge Sadness, but Floyd told Branch to wear his vest whenever Heartwarming in Hindsight missed his brothers. Across three movies, we never see Branch without the vest. It could also Fridge Brilliance /Heartwarming in Hindsight since it means that even though everything that happened Branch never forgets them.
  • Floyd is the only one of his brothers who has not learned about Grandma Rosiepuff's death. If Branch already felt great guilt for the grandmother's death, imagine the guilt that Floyd carried due he was the last of the brothers to leave and asked Branch to take care of her, as we know what also resulted in Branch losing his colors.
  • It wasn't long after Brozone broke up that Branch went to live with Grandma Rosiepuff, and we already know what happened to her. It's no wonder Branch grew up so cynical, he lost his brothers, witnessed the horrors of Trollstice, then lost his grandma to said horrors, and even when he held out for a small amount of hope he would see them again, that hope would sink lower and lower to the point where he only really acknowledges Floyd as his brother.
    • There's also the fact that it's implied that Clay was in the Troll Tree before the Great Escape which means he didn't bother to check on Branch for all those years.
    • Do any of the bros blame themselves for leaving Grandma Rosiepuff alone with Branch? A baby troll is no defense against a Bergen—how gutted would they feel if they found out Rosiepuff got eaten trying to save Branch, and none of them were there to help?
  • If Velvet and Veneer had captured Bro Zone, they all would have faded away eventually, like Floyd was doing throughout the movie. Which means they would have begun searching for even more trolls to steal talent from, and probably would have become a threat on the same level as the Bergens in the first movie.
  • Velvet and Veneer's special shoulder pads only allow for four trolls at a time, despite Bro-Zone being a five piece and the twins wanting all of them to show up. Either they were planning on keeping one seperate from his brothers at all times...or else they were planning ahead for when Floyd would no longer be needed.
  • What led to the Bergen golf course being abandoned? It wasn't the Putt-Putt Trolls as Clay mentions that it was abandoned when they got there so what led to it being abandoned?
    • The Bergens tended to be a pretty depressed bunch, especially with the loss of the Trolls and Trollstice, before Poppy and Branch's intervention. Maybe it was in operation before the Trolls' great escape and then when the Bergens thought that no Trolls means no happiness they abandoned places of leisure like the Putt Putt course because they assumed it wouldn't do anything to bring them joy.
  • It was lucky that Viva managed to stop the clown mouth from killing Gristle and Bridget because if she didn't, then the Bergens would no doubt decide to declare war on the Pop Trolls for killing their king and queen. Imagine the guilt Viva would have because of this.
  • Given that Crimp mentions that Velvet and Veneer committed Trollnapping and Troll torture, it's implied that some Mount Rageons have been guilty of such crimes. How many Trolls have died in Mount Rageous enough to be considered an actual offence?
    • In addition, it could mean that Mount Rageous could be facing trouble from the Troll Kingdoms in the future since kidnapping Trolls would be seen as an act of aggression and violates Trolls right, landing the city in hot water with the Troll Kingdoms and their allies.
    • Given DJ Suki's recent absences...what if she got kidnapped like Floyd did but wasn't rescued?
  • Promotional materials for the third film introduce an official world map depicting the various locations of the franchise. It places Bergen Town far outside the united Troll Kingdom, with the Pop Trolls having to pass between the Funk and Rock territories when travelling to it. While they're all on good terms now after the second film's events, the Pop Trolls could have easily lost their way and wandered into these other territories during their journeys to and from Bergen Town in the first film. Since the Pop Trolls were also the ones who caused the various tribes to fall out all those centuries ago, the Rock Trolls in particular likely wouldn't have taken kindly to their presence.
