The Hunters Guild

    Velou

Velou

Aspiring Hunter
A young boy living in a village that is threatened by werewolves. He desires to grow stronger so he can defend his fellow villagers.
  • Kid Hero: We don't know Velou's actual age, but the people of the hamlet call him a kid and he never denies that being the case. Nonetheless, he is persistent in wanting to protect the hamlet from werewolves. After the hamlet is razed, he extends that to a desire to hunt werewolves to protect others from such a misfortune.
  • I Owe You My Life: Velou's desire to protect the hamlet stems from him being grateful for being raised by the mayor and the rest of the hamlet after his parents were killed by a werewolf.
  • Parental Abandonment: Velou's true parents were eaten by a werewolf that the mayor found and killed in turn.

    Grimm

Grimm of the Hundred Cannons

Veteran Hunter

A veteran hunter hired by Velou's village to deal with their werewolf problem.
  • Bag of Holding: Grimm's valise is capable of holding multiple rifles, at minimum.
  • The Mentor: While Velou wants to hunt werewolves, he doesn't actually know how to, so Grimm's knowledge and tools gets shown to him as needed.
  • Lack of Empathy: Described as such by Velou. She's a cold, calculating hunter of monsters who only seems to care about fulfilling the terms of her contract and never claims to be a hero.
  • Ms. Fanservice: As is made obvious by the second page of the entire manga, Grimm's adult form is a long-haired buxom and leggy one, with rather form-fitting pants and a shirt which still emphasizes her bust while not being form-fitting due to it being tight over her midriff. Chapter 4 sees her portrayed as a Hot Teacher for the segment where she explains wolfonium to Dodou.
  • Curse: A witch cursed her to usually have the form of a little girl. While actually on a hunt, she can use a magic watch to transform into an adult, but only for three hours at a time every day.
  • Leg Focus: A lot of focus from the camera is aimed at her legs.
  • Red Baron: Grimm of the Hundred Cannons.

    Debonair Diamond

"Hot-Blooded" Debonair Diamond, Conductor/Instructor of the Ironworks

Hot-Blooded Conductor/Instructor
A member of the Hunters Guild in charge of training (and thinning the ranks of) aspiring Hunters on board her vessel, the Ironworks.
  • Amazonian Beauty: She is incredibly muscular, but still buxom and curvy. Her face is also easy on the eyes, if not downright beautiful.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: While testing the Hunter candidates, she's overjoyed to find that they've devised a strategy that turns the hunters into the hunted, and happily faces the challenges that this brings her.
  • Commissar Cap: Sports one that has a shield-like emblem on it while working. It goes quite well with her Badass Longcoat.
  • Curse: Much like Grimm, she also was cursed by a witch, but in her case it's one that gives her abnormal body heat.
  • Eye Patch Of Power: She has an eye-patch with the same emblem as her hat on it.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: She has several large scars around her body, presumably from her Hunter work. They are most prominent on her arms.
  • Hot-Blooded: Described as such in her introduction, and it shows with how enthusiastic she is about her work. Also, according to Velou who notes how unusually hot her hands are, she may literally be hot-blooded. Chapter 8 reveals this to actually be part of her curse.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's tall, muscular, has a huge rack, and wears pants so tight you can see her muscles through them.
  • Statuesque Stunner: While it's hard to gauge her actual height based off the interaction, her knee is level with Velou's waist, and with that massive size also comes a pretty face.
  • Training from Hell: What she inflicts on her trainees as their instructor. Roughly 200 people apply for every exam, and usually only three manage to pass.

Monsters

    Lycaon
An older, powerful werewolf, father of the werewolves tormenting the Velou's hamlet.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: He's mentioned as being Cinderella's partner; Cinderella herself is a small young woman, and Lycaon is several times her size.
  • Large and in Charge: He towers over every other character in the series so far, looking at least 5 stories tall at full height. Just his head is roughly the size of two average cars in length.
  • Noble Demon: Unlike the other werewolves seen so far who rather take a lot of joy in how they torment and eat humans, Lycaon has some strange sense of honor, stating his respect for Velou's bravery in brandishing a rake at him and for killing his werewolf sons despite being very young. He then asks Cinderella to burn down Velou's hamlet as "a signal pyre for my sons on their journey to Valhalla...", which may have very well been a legitimate ritual in his eyes rather than plain revenge.

    Cinderella

Cinderella, The Ashen Witch

Witch of the Red List
A witch allied with Lycaon and a group known as "The Red List."
  • Cute Witch: She's young and attractive.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: She's in it for the chaos but doesn't want the world destroyed since that'll rob her of her fun. Thus is in disagreement with the mayor's plans when she finds out he wants to wipe out the world completely. So much so she's willing to team with the hunters in a ceasefire to stop his plans.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: She's Lycaon's partner and he absolutely dwarfs her several times over.
  • Mysterious Past: Who is she and where did she come from. No clue, the series was canceled before her story could be explored.
  • Playing with Fire: "Upside-Down Chrysantemus" is a spell she uses to set fire on Valou's hamlet.
  • Robe and Wizard Hat: Her witch hat outstrips many other Witch Classic's hat by having a brim so wide that it's about triple her width between her shoulders.
  • Witch Classic: She waves a wand, rides on a broom, dresses in black, and wears a large hat (with a brim that's three-times her width). She absolutely looks like one of these.
