"'Scuse your fucking mouth!
A stand-up comedian who has appeared on 7 Days and competed in the 2021 series of Celebrity Treasure Island 2021.
  • Achievements in Ignorance: He's the only one of the panel who completed a secret task set for everyone because he was the only one who happened to peek beneath the rubber duck covering it.
  • Animal Motifs: Geese out of all things. In one task he becomes a superhero called '"The Goose" and in another, he mimics some nearby geese to become one with nature.
  • Camp Gay: He creates a VT where he becomes the first gay man on the Moon and makes the trip in a sparkly spaceship.
  • Epic Fail: He comes up with an elaborate method of memorising pi which surprisingly works as he successfully remembered 21 out of 22 digits. Unfortunately, he forgot that it starts with "three point" and was thus disqualified.
  • The Ace: Downplayed, but he wins a whopping five episodes over the course of the series, three of which are consecutive. This ties him with Richard Herring for both the most episodes won and the longest streak of wins (shared with Kiell Smith-Bynoe) in the entire Taskmaster franchise. Although Josh ultimately wins the series, Chris is only four points behind.
  • The Gadfly: When tasked with hiding his homemade companion away from Paul (Williams, not Ego), he does it successfully and proceeds to mock Paul up until the studio recordings.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: He wears the funny outfit of the season, dressing as a park ranger with very short shorts.

Josh Thomson

"Well alright!"
An actor and comedian of Tongan heritage. He is best known for his work as a comedian on 7 Days, Have You Been Paying Attention, Patriot Brains, and as a host on The Project.
  • Competition Freak: While not as intense as some other examples throughout the franchise, it's made clear that Josh really wants the trophy. Justine mentions in the finale that she and Kura were having fun during team tasks while Josh was intent on finding the best solution.
  • Fan Disservice: When tasked with creating an original superhero, he dresses up in a skintight yellow jumpsuit similar to the infamous one worn by Phil Wang in Series 7 of the UK original. As with Phil's suit, Josh's outfit leaves little to the imagination.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Throughout the show, Josh is able to demonstrate his talent for building incredible makeshift contraptions in a variety of tasks, such as repurposing an automatic tie rack to build a "sushi train" which is used by his children, rigging the barn door to set off an airhorn when unwitting folk open it, or setting up a shovel to whack a ramekin of crème brûlée.
  • Idiot Ball: While everyone in the cast agrees he's the smartest among them, he absolutely blows the task to prove he's the smartest.
  • Straw Misogynist: He abuses the same female mannequin with the orange wig in multiple tasks, including kicking it in half in the intro's opener, leading Jeremy and the rest of the cast to jokingly label him as such.

Justine Smith

"I'll Andy Murray you in a moment."
An actor and comedian. She is best known for appearing on 7 Days and Funny Girls.
  • Achievements in Ignorance:
    • For the Scare The Taskmaster" task, Justine scares Paul instead of Jeremy due to mistaking The Taskmaster with The Taskmaster's Assistant. However, this was not all for naught as Jeremy was scared in a different sense, given the show's marketing department spent tens of thousands of dollars advertising him as the Taskmaster but the fact that one of the contestants currently competing couldn't tell was concerning. In the end, her misguided attempt received four points as a result.
    • When tasked with finding the correct task among dozens of identical task envelopes, she completes the task (Saying "Thank you" to Paul) completely by accident.
  • Author Appeal: She loves Disney and this is reflected in more than one prize task submission.
  • Brain Bleach: She brings in a custom-made ventriloquist puppet of herself for a prize task. It's revealed to be an inhumanly pink monstrosity with a gaping mouth and large bust that has the panel cringing and leaning back from their seats.
Jeremy: Hold on...that is a puppet of you?
    Justine: Yup!
    Jeremy: Jesus Christ...
  • Copiously Credited Creator: invoked In her pastiche of Shortland Street, she's credited with every job needed on set.
  • Epic Fail: Seemingly misreads the task to memorise as recite pi and used to time allotted to her reading off the sheet of digits provided to her. Once she realises her mistake, she panics and only gets to the first decimal before time runs out. (Still, she comes fourth.)
  • Failed a Spot Check: After giving up finding the proper golf hole in "F**k Golf", she heads back to the dressing room attached to the study and fails to notice the enormous green placed atop the desk.

Kura Forrester

"Shall I argue that?... Nah."
An actor and writer. In 2019, she won the Billy T Award for best emerging comedian, for her show Kura Woulda Shoulda. She currently appears as core cast member Desdemona Schmidt on prime-time soap opera Shortland Street.
  • Actor Allusion: Courtesy of Justine's dramatic exit task attempt, there is a brief discussion of Shortland Street and her own role on that show.
  • Biting-the-Hand Humor: While presenting her performing arts degree for a prize task, she offers her part on Shortland Street for whoever wins the episode, calling the job a "piece of piss".
  • Boring, but Practical: Her pre-recorded task outfit is the simplest amongst the panel as she opted for a roomy t-shirt and shorts that allow for comfort and mobility.
  • History with Celebrity: For one prize task, she offers to take the winner to the Pizza Hut where she had sex with Sonny Bill Williams.
  • The Pollyanna: Kura is always incredibly positive and rarely gets irritated or angry, even when she receives low scores.

Paul Ego

"FUCK GOLF!"
A Billy T Award winning New Zealand comedian. He is best known both for his current role as leader of Team One on the New Zealand comedy current affairs panel show 7 Days, and as the voice artist of the Stickman in television advertisements for PAK'n'SAVE supermarket.
  • Actor Allusion: There are repeated mentions and allusions of the voice work he does for PAK'nSAVE supermarkets.
  • Consistent Clothing Style: He wears shirts with bold (bordering on tacky) patterns for his pre-recorded tasks and during studio tapings.
  • Failed a Spot Check: After giving up finding the proper golf hole in "F**k Golf", he heads back to the dressing room attached to the study and fails to notice the enormous green placed atop the desk.
  • The Nicknamer: He dubs Paul Williams "P-Willy" so as not to have their shared name mentioned too often during taped tasks.
