Goggles
Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu
The mascot of the manga, despite not being the leader of Team Blue. He is a Idiot Hero in the sense that he may not be the brightest squid in the shed, but he makes up for it in heart. His main weapon in the Splatershot in the Splatoon 2 arc and the Tentatek Splattershot in the Splatoon 1 arc.- Confusion Fu: It's hard to read what he'll do, especially with his shenanigans.
- Idiot Hero: Not the smartest Inkling around.
- Invincible Incompetent: Despite being forgetful, immature and a complete idiot, Goggle and his team win nearly all of their matches against the more skilled teams, including the Big Four of the S+ Rankers (aka the S4). In fact, the one time they did lose was an off-screen match and that pisses off Rider because it meant he really did lose to a team mostly composed of C Rank Inklings.
- Naked People Are Funny: He often loses his clothes, whether by forgetting to put them on before going into squid form or though Clothing Damage.
- Supreme Chef: He makes a food called "Pants-Down Rider" which is amazing but awkward to eat. When Crusty Sean tried it, he was shocked at how delicious it was.
Headphones
Voiced by: Kondo Rena
The team's Cool Big Sis, despite being around the same age as her teammates. She's a level-headed inkling who can get irritated by Goggles' shenanigans. Her main weapon is the Squiffler and later the Splat Charger.- Team Mom: She is this to Team Blue.
- The Straight Man: Though not as much as Specs.
Specs
Voiced by: Haruka Shiraishi
The Leader of the Blue Team who specializes in brush-type weapons. He is the Only Sane Man and The Smart Guy on the team, but he does has his silly moments. He's also Goggles' best friend.- Bash Brothers: With Goggles. Even when bickering their coordination is excellent.
- Team Dad: He is this to Team Blue.
- The Smart Guy: The only smart one among Team Blue.
- The Straight Man: To Goggles, much to his frustration.
Bobble Hat
Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu
The Genki Girl as recognized by her casual big open smile and closed eyes. She's also the only one who doesn't mind Goggles' shenanigans.- Cuckoosnarker: While always happy to join in on Goggles' hijinks, she's just as likely to point out any absurdity with a quick insult or surprisingly morbid line while keeping a beaming smile on her face.
- Eyes Always Shut: Has never opened her eyes once throughout the manga's run.
- Genki Girl: Highly energetic and always in a good mood.
- Perpetual Smiler: Even when things turn south for her team, she never drops her dopey smile. The only tell for when she actually feels troubled by a situation is a small sweatdrop, and even that doesn't last long.
Rider
The leader of Team Yellow-green. Originally a short-tempered lone wolf, he has since became a Jerk with a Heart of Gold in a way after being defeated by Team Blue. Also a common target for pantsing by Goggles. His main weapon is the Gold Dynamo Roller.
- I Work Alone: Used to dislike working with others until being defeated by Team Blue.
- The Rival: Downplayed. While he is considered one to Goggles, he still shows kindness to him and his friends.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Even thought he's harsh, he show kindness to Goggle and his friends.
Army
One of the S4. He's from Team Orange. He collected all data of his opponents. After he was defeat by Team Blue, he became obsessed with curry.
- Put on a Bus: In one arc, he gets injured by insects, letting Rider take his place while he heals. He comes back after his injuries heal, though.
- Team Chef: He makes curry that smells delicious. To the point Goggles leaves turf war because his stomach is rumbling.
Aloha
One of the S4. He's from Team Pink. He has a wild personality and loves to party with his teammates.
- The Casanova: He always flirting with female inklings.
- Dance Battler: His team's tactic is called "Disco Ball Dance," where they dance to dodge their opponents' moves.
Mask
One of the S4. He's from Team Purple. He has cold and distant nature, usually on his phone when not battling.
- The Eeyore: Likes to wipe people's smiles off their faces.
- Hidden Depths: According to Inkipedia, he loves video games and likes wowing others with his skills in Squid Beatz. Kinda ironic, don't you think?
Skull
One of the S4. He's from Team Purple. He is the strongest member of the S4, and is particularly good at sniping enemies with his Elite Scope Charger. Despite his tough personality, he becomes clueless and easily lost once he was defeated by Team Blue.
- Hidden Depths: He and Aviators were once members of X-Blood until the left to form Team Purple.
- No Brows: Lacks eyebrows. Apparently, he was born without them.
Hachi AKA Agent 8
A Male Octoling who has lost his memories. Is the main character for the Octoling Expansion arc. Wields a Blaster.
- The Comically Serious: Is capable of this quite often, in the face of Goggles' shenanigans. To the point where, when fighting a brainwashed Rider, makes a heartfelt friendship speech... While having accidentally been pantsed by Goggles. His reaction to being told his pants are down is basically "yeah, they are, so what?"
- Gadgeteer Genius: Just like most Octolings, he's very intelligent to the point of being able to repair and make his own weapons.
- Meaningful Name: Hachi means eight in Japanese.
- The Straight Man: Subverted. While he comments on how strange Goggles and Cap'n are, he's more willing to go with their shenanigans.
