Below is the list of characters that appear in Kindred. Spoilers beware.

     Willow Morrigan
Willow Morrigan is the protagonist of Kindred and anchor of Morrigan Coven. Her witch powers are yellow in color and are related to time manipulation.
  • Bisexual Love Triangle: Can be in one with her Guardian and Kaine if one is female and the other is male.
  • The Chains of Commanding: Several chapters deal with Willow's struggles and insecurities as the coven's anchor.
  • Character Customization: Can choose from four faces and a variety of hairstyles, along with your name.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: As custom in Choices, you can customize Willow's name.
  • Interspecies Romance: With either your Guardian (default name Rainier), a light being who is hundreds of years old and assigned to protect Willow and her coven, or Kaine, an undead wraith and former right hand person to the Wraith King.
    • It doesn't stick with Kaine in the end, as s/he regains his/her humanity after destroying the book of wraiths' names which the sisters find in the Wraith King's lair.
  • The Leader: Is this as the coven's anchor.
  • The Matchmaker: Can be this for Maggie and Brooks and Saff and Penny if you choose.
  • May Fly December Romance: With both love interests.
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Being the coven's anchor on top of being the middle sister gives her a serious case of this, having to mediate between her sisters and their squabbling (similar to Nova Elara).
  • Time Master: Willow has the power to stop, slow down, and reverse time.

     Saffron "Saff" Morrigan
Saffron is Willow's older sister, who returns to Santa Renata after the death of her mother. Her witch powers are blue in color and she has shapeshifting powers. Like Willow, she didn't have a strong relationship with her mother growing up.
  • The Runaway: Became this when she was younger, due to her mother not accepting her decision to transition.
  • Sassy Black Woman: If playing with a Black Willow, Saff is this.
  • Shapeshifter: Saffron has the power to shapeshift into inanimate objects, and later living things, at will.
  • Trans Tribulations: She occasionally speaks about her struggles to be this while growing up in a small town and even after leaving.

     Magnolia "Maggie" Graves
Maggie Graves is Willow and Saffron's baby sister. Initially thought to have been given up by both her parents, it's later revealed that Azalea gave Maggie up for adoption because she believed having three daughters would cause trouble. She was later in and out of foster homes after her adoptive parents died while she was very young. Maggie eventually finds herself in Santa Renata to learn more about her mother and sisters. Her powers deal with dreamwalking.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Called "Mags" by Willow.
  • Dream Walker: Maggie has the power to go into people's dreams.
  • Happily Adopted: Was initially this, before her adoptive parents died. After that, she found herself in a series of foster homes, many of which never kept her there for long. This caused her to grow cynical to the point of even hating to celebrate her birthday.
  • Interspecies Romance: Formerly with her ex Peter, who she later finds out is a wraith.

     Guardian
Your Guardian, whose default name is Rainier, is tasked with keeping Willow's coven safe from harm. They initially show up at the coffee shop Willow works at as a regular, but is eventually revealed to be a Guardian after a wraith attacks Willow's childhood home.
  • Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Willow’s Archie and Kaine’s Veronica.
  • Bodyguard Crush: Can begin to fall for Willow if the player goes down this path.
  • Character Customization: Can choose the gender and looks of your Guardian, along with their name.
  • Fish out of Water: A large part of your Guardian's personality, as they're often out of touch with current times and is quite traditional when talking to Willow. They even use all caps to text in a particular chapter, much to the annoyance of Kaine.
  • Forbidden Romance: It’s against the rules for a guardian to be involved with their witches so they are constantly fighting their feelings for Willow.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: You can customize your Guardian's name, or just leave it as Rainier.
  • Interspecies Romance: With Willow if the player pursues this.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Is centuries old, which shows in the way they interact to modern slang and ways of communication.

     Archer Bell/Kaine
Archer Bell, later known as Kaine, is a wraith, an estate lawyer, and one of Willow's love interests. They're first seen in Chapter 1, helping Willow settle her late mother's estate. Eventually, Archer is revealed to be Kaine, a former right hand person to the Wraith King. They're also the Lord/Lady of Desire.
  • Betty and Veronica: The Veronica to Willow’s Archie and Rainier’s Betty.
  • Character Customization: You can choose the looks and gender of Kaine.
  • The Charmer: They are the Lord/Lady of Desire after all.
  • Defecting for Love: Kaine eventually admits they started off as The Mole but as they fell for Willow and realized there is a real chance of reclaiming their human name and being free from the wraith king they had a genuine Heel–Face Turn.
  • Mysterious Past: Not much is currently known about their past and they can't remember much of their life before becoming undead.
    • In Chapter 16, their true past is revealed: They arrived in California with their family during the Gold Rush, but fell on hard times, so they sold their heart to the Wraith King so that they can afford to feed their two little sisters.
  • Really Gets Around: Implied to be the case as the Lord/Lady of Desire.

     Brooks Barrett
Brooks is Willow's boss and best friend. He owns the local coffee shop in town, "Neutral Grounds" and is seemingly interested in Willow's baby sister, Maggie.

     Azalea
Azalea is the mother of Willow, Saff and Maggie. Her death kickstarts the plot for all three sisters and leads them to find each other and hopefully stop a looming threat to the city and world.
  • Plot-Triggering Death: Her death results in the Morrigan sisters meeting each other and discovering their powers.
  • Wanted a Gender-Conforming Child: In a premium scene, Saff tells Willow that she hated a picture of herself found in a yearbook because her mother dressed her in boys clothes for it. The friction between her and her mother ultimately led her to leave home and not return for around 10 years, after her mother had died.

     Wraith King
He is the ruler of the wraiths who was sealed away thousands of years ago, and his return would bring about the end of all witchkind and eternal suffering for humanity.
  • Big Bad: He's the most powerful wraith out there, as well as the greatest threat not just to all witchkind, but to all humanity, so his "Wraith King" status really means something.
