Bosses

    Beta Devs
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_2024_01_04_194846030.png
From left to right: Beta Jean, Beta Port and Beta Xerroz
Defective clones of Jean, PortABoi, and Xerroz that struck a deal with Weegee to return to the mortal plane after being discarded. According to the real Port, it only sort of worked, and now they're loose in the Asylum causing chaos.
  • Albinos Are Freaks: In contrast to the real Xerroz, who is a black man, Beta Xerroz's skin is pure white and most closely resembles the original otherwise.
  • Ambiguously Evil: Their lore explicitly describes their motives as either for their personal entertainment, because they're clinically insane, or both.
  • Medium Blending: Beta Jean is a normal Roblox avatar wielding a dagger from Cube Cavern, a Roblox game that uses its own low-poly artstyle and notably portrays weapons with solid neon colors. As a result, it looks like his dagger is radiating with pure energy, but even though it is a decently powerful weapon, the glow's got nothing to do with its strength.
  • Rule of Funny: Why is Beta Jean dressed like Guy Fieri? No reason, it's just funny.
  • Sanity Slippage: They're not all there by the time you face them, with Beta Port even twitching in his idle animations. Even their lore states they may have an actual mental illness.
  • Secret A.I. Moves: The Stomp item and Beta Figure juggernaut can replicate all of the Beta Devs' moves, except for Beta Jean's ability to heal himself.
  • Stylistic Suck: Beta Xerroz's gun is a static .png of an M1911 pistol, unlike every other firearm in the game which uses a normal model.

    Takeo Ischi/Man of Nature
A martial artist who runs a dojo defended by his army of trusty Beast Man warriors, consisting of chickens, rats, and pigs. Armed with the power of nature and the skills to bring you to the end of your luck, he also happens to be a very good yodeling singer.
  • Boss Remix: His theme is The Gregory Brothers' "Chicken Attack" remade as a fight song.
  • Musical Theme Naming: Named for the singer of The Gregory Brothers' "Man of Nature" series, with the most common minion spawns being chickens — as in the first song, "Chicken Attack." And then there's also pigs, from "Chicken Pig Attack."
  • Unstable Equilibrium: With the right loadout, it's easy enough to cleave through Takeo's minions with a proper understanding of how each type works, but slipping up, having bad items, or not being good enough in general is deadly, promoting a Cycle of Hurting through stunlocks that burns through your lives quickly. This also makes Takeo harder in larger servers, as the scaling creates more opportunities to catch the entire team off-guard.

     10 Hour Burst Man
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_2024_01_04_195221112.png
A 10 Hour Burst Man in rocketarena, holding his namesake drink.
First alluded to as a faction allied with the Uncertified, the 10 Hour Burst Men are former humans who have consumed large amounts of 10 Hour Burst energy drinks, turning them into black, featureless Humanoid Abominations with a taste for blood, taurine, and caffeine. As they have the same combat expertise as regular players, this makes them extremely deadly — such that a single Man can put Towny into lockdown.

One such 10 Hour Burst Man is encountered in the boss map of the same name, where he has made a name for himself as a Serial Killer that uses stealth instead of aggression to terrorize the Shopkeeper Dummy's hometown of Thunderstorm. A group of vigilantes set out to take him down a peg, but they soon realize they may be in over their heads...
  • Knight of Cerebus: While there's still a joke to be found in the Men's dependence on the energy shot, the 10 Hour Burst Man boss is portrayed as a legitimate threat to the item asylum universe without any laughs and is yet another one of the Shopkeeper Dummy's many stressors as he has to keep updating a board with every life taken by the Man.
  • Mirror Boss: Out of the bosses, he's the only one who can use weaponry a player can use in a standard game.
  • Must Have Caffeine: They're created upon excess consumption of 10 Hour Burst, and the one faced in boss_10hourburstman has to chug a second shot to keep going once he's put on the ropes.
  • Redemption Demotion: While you can turn yourself into a 10 Hour Burst Man with the 10 Hour Burst item, all it does is make you a bit more nimble while reducing defense by 15% — any sense of brutality that the Men are known for relies purely on the other two items in your inventory.
  • Secret A.I. Moves: As a boss, the 10 Hour Burst Man can use The Ferryman's Grand Volley, a deadlier version of the Grand Javelin that can fire four shots in rapid succession and dismember targets on lethal hits. This move can't be replicated, even with the admin panel. Subverted when the Valentines update came out, as the Grand Volley can be used, although it needs to be unlocked via beating the 10 Hour Burst Man on a perfect run.
  • Serial Killer: The 10 Hour Burst Man boss is a lone Man that prefers to kill people in the style of a regular serial killer, staking out victims before assassinating them with one of his many weapons.

    The Uncertified
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_2024_01_04_195012387.png
On the left:A Combat Soldier. In the middle: Three standard Combat Dummies. On the fence: A Combat Mage reading his spellbook.
Combat Dummies created by Dr. Combatant, given superhuman intelligence much like the original in order to get revenge on the asylum for the way the Dummies have been treated.
  • Action Bomb: KamiDummies wield only Bobm, and as such, will use them to explode anyone near them. It is possible to survive them if the player has above 125 HP, but it also deals massive knockback.
  • Artificial Human: Like all the others, they are all humanoid forms of Organic Technology intended to replicate human biology.
  • King Mook: The Combat King, who was made specifically to lead the Uncertified's sieges.
  • Mix-and-Match Man: The radio in boss_clayman reveals some of the Uncertified were dismembered upon being discarded from the Combat Dummy production line, requiring the Combat King to stitch them back together. Because they're all identical, it's almost certain some of the limbs of Uncertified you find might belong to another Dummy.
  • Promoted to Playable: The Uncertified were made as a playable team in the Tower Control gamemode during the Summer 2023 update.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Back when they were introduced, the standard Combat Dummies were your average dime-a-dozen mooks, sometimes armed with low-level weapons from the games roster. However, come the Halloween update, they now have some deadlier weaponry such as The Dang, Scythe, London and Dragon Slayer.

Others

    Shopkeeper Dummy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/image_2024_01_04_195352531.png
The Shopkeeper Dummy at his desk.
A lone Dummy dressed in a red hoodie who owns and runs a shop located in the town of Thunderstorm. He supplies players with most of their wares and cosmetic options, and often recounts rumors and knowledge given by his customers.
  • Ambiguous Situation: The Shopkeeper Dummy is, well, an actual Combat Dummy, as indicated by his "Certified IA Dummy" shirt. Dummies are not supposed to have human intelligence; that's what makes them Uncertified. So why is he here, and helping the players despite the way he feels about his job?
  • Butt-Monkey: The Beta Devs frequently steal his stuff, and the supply chain he uses for products (actually the boat in Shipment) is always damaged because of players fighting on it.
  • Organic Technology: Implied to be an Artificial Human separate from the Uncertified, as all Dummies are biotechnological constructs originally made for weapons testing.
  • Made of Indestructium: Can't be injured or killed when you encounter the original in the actual Thunderstorm, something he himself finds odd.
  • Small Town Boredom: For all the customers he serves, his actual home life in Thunderstorm is rather boring, given it's a tiny village in an enclosed area that's always raining. His store may not be the most fun place on Earth, but it's his one connection to the outside world.
  • Soul-Sucking Retail Job: Works the counter at his shop every day, and is always portrayed with a stressed expression. Though he doesn't hate his job per se, it's quite clear trying to peddle strange wares with the cadence of a regular retail joint is very draining.
  • Weirdness Magnet: It's implied that in-universe, players buying things from his shop keep telling him about various things happening in the game's world, hence why he inexplicably knows a lot about it for a lone shopkeeper. Thunderstorm's city council also tasks him specifically with promoting their search for the 10 Hour Burst Man's victims.

    Dr. Combatant
The original Uncertified, Dr. Combatant was a Combat Dummy who was gifted superhuman intelligence by a factory defect. After recreating the process that led to his creation, he was responsible for the mass production of the Uncertified, resulting in their rapid evolution as a Human Subspecies. Seeking revenge on humans for mistreatment of the Dummies, he has since directed the Uncertified to lay waste to and supplant them.
