openRecurring hidden easter egg? Print Comic
You know how in every cover of Playboy magazine, the playboy bunny is hidden somewhere in the design; I remember also in the mexican Nintendo Magazine, Club Nintendo, back in the day their logo was diamond shaped, so they hid a diamond somewhere in the illustration in every cover.
Is there a trope name for stuff like that? I guess they may be considered easter eggs, but I didn't find anything quite like that on the list of examples of the trope.
openIncorrect namespace on page.
The page for the Korean animated series Tobot is located in the "Series/" namespace. The "Series/" namespace is for live-action television shows; this page should be in the "Animation/" namespace, which is for Asian Animation, Eastern European Animation, and other non-Western Animation. There are several links to this show's page on the wiki as well, all of which use the incorrect "Series/" namespace. Somebody should fix this as soon as possible.
openFound a duplicate page
Someone just created a page for the HBO series Animals... which already has a page at Animals HBO, albeit that one's in the wrong namespace (the "Animation" namespace is for Asian Animation and Eastern European Animation, not Western animation).
Someone should probably move the tropes and stuff from the improperly namespaced page to the properly namespaced page, and then cutlist the improperly namespaced page. Just so ya know.
Edited by SparkPlugTheTroperopenName translation policy and Name Order Anime
As of today, the only official translation of Harukana Receive is by Seven Seas Entertainment, and I noticed it uses the eastern name order (family-name-first). The work page was launched before that (the translated manga only released yesterday), and used the western order as customary.
Should I apply the general rules of translated names and flip the names around?
openLaw and Order - Foreign Adoption on Black Market Live Action TV
Need help identifying this episode of Law and Order (not sure but likely SVU). Back in 2000, I viewed an episode about the death of a little girl, thought to be approx. 2 or 3 years old (but later found by the ME to be a couple of years older, suffering from a medical condition which stunted her growth and development). The little girl had been adopted by a couple in NYC through a crooked adoption attorney who handled eastern European/Russian black market adoptions and did not disclose the medical condition to the couple. He was aware of the condition because he had previously tried to place the child with a family who returned her once the condition was diagnosed. The little girl was found dead in her crib. The biological son of the couple (8 or 10 years old, autistic (or emotionally disturbed) and plagued with anger issues) was accused of murdering the little girl (suffocation, I think). In the end, it turned out that the son had NOT killed his adoptive sister, the adoptive parents confessed about the black market adoption and (here, I am REALLY fuzzy) that one of them had killed the little girl because they were unable to afford the medical expenses that they would have incurred to treat her condition, Thanks in advance!!!
openIs there a way to restore a cut page due to being made by a banned person?
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/AzurLane had most of its subpages (save for the Iris, Eastern raidance, and Sirens subpages) cut due to being made by a bad dodger. I'm asking if there' a way to restore them without any issue as there was nothing questionable about them.
"Note: This page was cut for reason: Page created by serial ban evader. [mlsmithca]" was the text on said cut pages.
openDoes Translation Rules apply to Name Order? Anime
I personally understand the translation rules as applied to anime, see for example the Sailor Moon query below. My question is this: does the rule also apply to name order, and name order alone?
Specifically: Manga.New Game and associated pages were mostly written when its anime were subtitled by Crunchyroll, and the names were in Western order. Seven Seas Entertainment released their manga translation about 3 weeks ago, but the characters' names are in the Eastern order.
Seven Seas' version would be the most recent translation, and being in the source media is an extra plus. But does the translation rule extend to name order?
openUnfortunate Implications for a Dictatorship?
On The Hitman's Bodyguard, I found an Unfortunate Implications entry regarding the film's depiction of Belarus as a violent dictatorship. The thing is, Belarus is recognized by many countries and organizations as a dictatorship and the entry itself points it out. The citation is from a Russian review, and the entry also points out that Russians are sympathetic to the Belarus dictatorship. Since the "implication" here is that Belarus is a dictatorship, should this entry be cut? Here's the entry:
- Unfortunate Implications: Not surprisingly, supporters of the actual Belorussian dictatorship, including some Russian reviewers treated the Belorussian origin of the dictator, the participation of Russian actors and explicit references to left nationalists of Eastern Europe as insulting and evoking politically biased.
open Late 1980ās or Early 1990ās Animated Easter Special Western Animation
I saw it only once when I was around 8 or 9. I remember watching it at Easter time sometime between 1993 and 1996. It was an Easter cartoon special, not reoccurring TV show with an Easter themed episode. I donāt think it was a full-length movie, although it could have been. If it was a movie, it was never in theaters. All I can remember is there weāre talking farm or woodland animals. One of those animals was a rabbit, he seemed to be the central/most memorable animal character. I want to say it took place on or near a farm. There was a boy on the farm. He was the protagonist along with the talking animals. I donāt know if the boy and animals talked to each other, but the animals talked to one another. The antagonist was a machine or robotic type being I remember. I remembered that the machine/robot somehow hurt the boy, or defeated him somehow. The boy was on the ground hurt, and I remembered how bad I felt and how much I hated that evil robot machine villain thing. The animals were devastated and were on the boyās side when this happened. I donāt remember what happened at th end, or how everything turned out for the boy and the animals. I want to say that th annals somehow saved the boy from the machine villain but I canāt distinctly remember how that happened. I have always connected the memory of this animated TV special with Easter time, and Easter themed, though I have no memory of the show itself besides the taking rabbit to associate to Easter specifically. Iāve been struggling with this memory and wanting to know what it is I remembered after all these years. I know I remember the way it made me feel the most. Maybe thatās the reason I canāt let it go, and I need to know more. Iāve been struggling with this for 15+ years. Anything would help! Thank you!

open What about those times, when Author Existence Failure is USED as a trope?
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AuthorExistenceFailure
States right at the top that it is not a trope...
But it IS a trope: or at least it's been used that way.
I can only think of one example off the top of my head, but, in the Akiko manga, there's an entire plotline which revolves around this: an Author Existence Failure occurs near the climax of one of the most amazing stories ever written: "The Hemin Spotter" leaving it incomplete, [[SPOILER: but it turns out that the author secretly finished it and left the final chapter in a hidden location as an Easter Egg...]]
So, what page do those get filed under?
Edited by TheGhostopen SkidTroper making deliberately misogynistic edits on contentious pages.
It has been brought to my attention that SkidTroper has been making a considerable number of edits that show a bias towards the Men's Rights Movement, but with a slant that is openly hateful towards in particular feminism, but also towards women in general. This behavior is not supported by the wiki. Not only this, but when faced with anything but positive responses (literally doing nothing enrages him) he is openly confrontational and claims to be singled out and that people want to suppress/oppress him. There are also concerns that he is spreading falsehoods regarding atheism, Christianity and what he sees as "anti-Christian".
Here is a link to the 2013 "The wiki has a feminist bias" thread that was resolved, thus long before Skid Troper ever made an appearance there had been conceited efforts to prevent any bias, as well as explaining to the "concerned" troper at the time that feminism isn't misandrist to no avail. Oh, and his grammar is terrible.
Below are some particularly bad edits of Skid Troper's I've singled out for inspection. I'd also cast a cautious eye on his troper page — particularly where he says he has unrelenting views on Christianity, the strong opinions he holds about how characters and beliefs "should be" presented in works, the view of himself as a "real man" (i.e. tough and outdoorsy and always morally right, according to the entry it's linked to), the fact he applies Perverse Sexual Lust to himself, and, for completeness sake, the claim to Aspergers Syndrome in how, in fairness, he may not know that he is doing something wrong and we are unlikely to be able to convince him that he could change his editing behavior.
- From the Discarded Men's Rights Activism TLP:
- the Useful Notes for Feminism allows for a discussion of the controversial term "Patriarchy" despite the fact that it gets overused, sometimes to the point of being misandrist
- I do not care whether or not I'm liked here and will not back down from making this just because some people don't like it
- keep in mind any attempts at page blanking or vandalism will be undone
- no one gave suggestions on how to make it neutral other than asking me to remove all mention of the Red Pill, the Manosphere and some of the terms; that is not making it neutral, that is suppressing facts (facts meaning, these are commonly held views in the Manosphere). To me, that comes across less as "keep the text neutral" and more "I disagree with these things so much I want them censored" (as for WHY people want those censored, I don't know, but given the dim reception this trope had I've got some suspicions).
- My draft has been singled out, that's why it's in the "Nuked" section [...] There has been widespread media censorship for anything that challenges a leftist narrative <— in particular, this definitely shows the self-important attitude that is a common feature of misogynistic men.
- The Red Pill and its YMMV page.
- I will say that this is a work page and so may exist. However, the description is currently very short and alludes to (though does not say outright) that feminists should convert to MRA and "question [their] views on gender, power, and privilege".
- Generally bad grammar and phrasing, but the main issue really is the promotion of MRA over feminism.
- Nothing against MRA, except for the fact that this troper seems to be describing it not as "equal rights for men" and instead as "feminists oppress men".
- Acceptable Religious Targets: history
- Edit warring about Scientology
- Adding a lot of very biased and unproven information on atheism and communism vs. religion.
- Changed:
- to
- Deleted:
- But kept the statement that follows it, which is a lot more negative without the above context:
- And a lot more, but I don't want to overload this.
- YMMV.Mass Effect Andromeda
- Edit warring (I think?) about religious allegories in the game, even though it was taken to discussion and his edits reverted by consensus.
- Added the (incorrectly indented) below entry about mild representations of Nazis being anvilicious (Nazi sympathizing?)
- And this: (given the kett's Nazi and religious parallels and the historical targets of left-wing politics)
- Literally every mention of religion, Nazis, fanaticism, and political targets on the page was added by him.
- Just, completely unilaterally rewrote Knight Templar.

openAnimation Trope Examples Western Animation
Where to put tropes from works in Eastern European Animation? Works that in other words are not Anime and not Western Animation. New folders for "Eastern Animation" or "Eastern European Animation"?
openBlur-the-Lines Webcomic
As I was browsing on the comic "Blur the Lines'' some time, I noticed that the last comic posted was on Easter 2015. And now, as I checked the site, it says "Domain Name Expired".
I could help, but 1) My load is full; and 2) I could mess the layout of the page.

openReporting Troper for Grammar
Franco-America2018 has severe grammar problems. Some of his recent edits are (courtesy link):
He's also got some parabombing issues, like in his edits for Acceptable Political Targets.
I did send a grammar notifier today for his edits on Acceptable Political Targets but then I realized that this may be in other pages, too. So I checked his editing history.
Edited by WaterBlapopenRe-add the "horrible" page for Eastern Animation? Western Animation
The cutting reason says we cut "So Bad, It's Horrible", it seems to be back for quite a while now. Maybe re-add all the subpages that are missing since its readdition?
openIs "Eastern European Animation" a separate category / folder?
Stock Dinosaurs in its example list has a folder called "Eastern European Animation". Is this really a thing as a separate folder / category? (separate from Western Animation, that is)
It contains only one example, a Hungarian movie. Better to move that to the "Western Animation" folder and delete the "Eastern European" folder, right?
Edited by LB7979
Do Asian Animation and Eastern Animation go in separate folders? Sometimes they're separate, and other times they're both in one Eastern Animation folder.
