So, the world has officially come to an end. It's what happened after some scientist guy got too ambitious... at least so said the news. God has finally sent the humans their punishment... at least so said the church. Well, you be the judge if this is a punishment sent by a higher force, a science experiment gone awry or just some freak mutation that caused this... not that it will help you really. The Zeds are running wild on the streets that is a fact though, accept it or not, there were enough who just curled up and died... but if you decide to die please at least do it with a proper shot to the head to save me the trouble of re-killing you once your corpse gets infected.

Huh... you still seem to be bent on living I see? Well, good for you then. Might as well share some knowledge then, why don't I? Well... I mean you probably know that the Zeds have overrun most of the world -laugh- not that this is a fact that could be overlooked I hope. Some word of advice from me: 1st: Search for some group... alone you'll be only fodder for the Zeds; 2nd: Find a house - living the life of a nomad only shortens your lifespan; 3rd: Get supplies - you can bet that the supermarkets won't open any time soon again.

Sooo I wanted to give this a try, as you may have noticed from the title and the opening here this is a zombie survival RP, I'm using the virus type zombie for this one. This RP is set a few days after Patient 0 got infected, some areas are already overrun while others still have time. We're in a rather rural area in Central Europe and as such are currently seeing the first few zeds coming, although as of now its nothing too serious

General forum rules apply, no autohitting, godmodding, ghosting, etc. But most importantly: Don't be a dick towards other players

Now... there will be carriers but it will only be a small percentage so I won't allow more than 2 or 3 PC's although later on exceptions may be made.

SU:

  • Name: (Self explanatory I hope :P)
  • Age: (I don't have anything against some tag-along kid PC or a senior deciding that he'll be the badass in this apocalypse)
  • Gender: (I will accept anything here that is not blatantly troll and I trust in your ability to be reasonable here)
  • Appearance: (Both a text or a picture work fine here)
  • Personality: (While I will accept loner types of PC's for the sake of a decent experience for all I will refuse any chars that are blatantly antagonistic - if you're unsure, just ask, not everyone has to be a goodie two shoes after all)
  • Carrier: (A carrier will, if bitten, get infected yet will not die and for all intents purposes is still considered human, although they can potentially still infect others should they bite them)
  • Equipment/Tools: (Anything you have with you?)
  • Notable skills: (Note that this is not some final list, its just what your characters are most proficient in, but of course in a clinch you can expect your PC to for example be able to do stuff like cooking regardless of if it is listed here)
  • Background: (What did you do before the apocalypse? How did you survive the first days?)
  • Miscellaneous/Notes (optional): (Anything else)

Interest although I'm a bit confused - are there only going to be 2-3 PC's in the whole game or just 2-3 carrier PC's?

Just 2-3 Carriers, I didn't want everyone to just go carrier since a carrier can't be zombified which would mean that doing this would completely remove one of the threats of this from the game

Name: Allen Theodore Cross

Age: 34 years

Gender: Male

Appearance: Allen is a man just above six feet tall and with a build that is thickset but not overly so. Before infection began, he preferred to dress business casual, and overall his look still reflects this. Still, hard to find a dry cleaner in the zombie apocalypse, so his clothes are worse for wear.

Allen wears his black colored hair short and, when he can, brushed back, and his eyes are pale blue. His face is rounded and friendly, and he has a way with looks that makes him seem much more sociable an likable than perhaps he actually is.

Personality: Allen thinks of himself as a good person, but we all have our vices. His vice, before everything started going downhill, was video games and horrible B horror movies.

Typically, Allen tries to be amicable and pleasant to the people he meets, even if things have gone horribly awry. He prefers to try to keep the peace with kindness, and would rather avoid a fight if he can help it.

Years of binge watching horrible movies an his family's insistence on being prepared for the worst has made him somewhat paranoid despite his typical jovial attitude, and while he is more apt to be friendly with others, he also has trouble actively trusting others. Essentially, his underlying nature.

Carrier: Negative

Equipment/Tools

  • (1) Duffelbag (Bug-Out Bag)
    • (5) Cans of Baked Beans
    • (5) Water Bottles, Full and Refillable
    • (1) Survival Knife
    • (1) Winding Flashlight (Rechargeable)
    • (1) Map of Hundsberg
    • (30) Bullets (.22, 2 small boxes of 15 each)
    • (1) Magnetic Compass
    • (1) Butane Lighter
    • (1) Container of Lighter Fluid
    • (1) Box of Matches
  • (1) Set of Business Casual Clothing, Worn
  • (1) Winchester 69A Bolt Action-Magazine Fed .22 Rimfire Rifle
  • (1) Aluminum Baseball Bat
  • (1) Analog Watch, Worn

Notable Skills

  • Decent Shot (Rifle): Allen can shoot a rifle with decent accuracy, especially when not under duress.
  • B-Horror Knowledge: Hey, who knows, generic zombie knowledge might come in handy.
  • Smooth Talker: Good at talking with people, for the most part, even if he doesn't really trust them.
  • Basic Survival Skills: Such things as knowing how to use a map and compass, how to treat minor wounds, and a basic knowledge of what flora and fauna might be edible in an area.

Background: Before the first infection, Allen was your typical office worker. He went to work, went home, went to bed. Rinse and repeat, with lots of video gaming and movie watching in between. When he was a child, his parents instilled in him a need for preparedness, which strangely did nothing to affect his sociability, or at least what he shows of it.

Once things started going downhill, Allen did what he needed to - he gathered up whatever he could carry from his small apartment (leaving behind his consoles and PC were hard for him) and getting somewhere safe (where he would eventually meet up with the rest of the group). At game's start (present at the moment) he doesn't rightly trust anyone, but knows that he's got better chances of survival with a group than alone. He's had a run-in with one or two infected individuals, but overall he was quick to act and so hasn't had the chance to see them up close (which will have it's pros and cons.)

Miscellaneous: I want this character to be the guy that's prepared, but not necessarily for the zombie apocalypse, hence the last part of his background. We'll see how that plays out.

CO-GM DarkDestinySoul reporting for duty!

It took me longer than it should have. Complete tag-along kid, designed him just a completely normal, decently realistic kid. (Except the carrier bit) Who happened to have gotten a combination of lucky (perhaps unlucky) and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I may make a proper survivor later on.
Note: I also wanted to intentionally avoid him just being the load, he isn't going to be super-useful most of the time but he isn't just a pure burden, or a crybaby, or a scrappy. Might be decent morale support.

  • Name: Lucus Howe-Young
  • Age: 7 years old.
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearence:
    • Physical: Lucus is a small boy, standing at a height of only 118cm tall, 3ft 10½inches. A little short perhaps for his age but nothing too major. He has longish, messy brown hair, brown eyes and a relatively clear but pale completion. Link provided cause, why not.
    • Starting apparel: On day 0, Lucus certainly wasn't prepared for the apocalypse by any means. He's dressed in a slightly-too-big bright orange t-shirt with a red sentient race-car on it, over the top of a long-sleeved black t-shirt to help keep him a little warmer given the spring weather. A pair of light blue jeans, white upper legs/knee's as part of the design as well as finally a pair of black velcro-sneakers that light up as he walks. note  He HAD a hoodie, past tense, lost it after a zombie grabbed the hood while he was trying to run away.
  • Personality:
  • Carrier: Positive, but uninfected.
  • Equipment/Tools:
    • Small backpack: Lucus has a kids backpack, not particularly large but it can carry some equipment. Once his school and travel bag. It's design is that of a green Creeper.
    • Emergency cellphone: He has a smartphone, given to him by his parents encase he ever got separated, or just to play games on to keep him distracted on car rides. Not gonna be a huge help considering its unlikely phone services are up.note
    • Sports waterbottles (x2): Not cheap little disposable water bottles but decent quality, leak resistant bottles. One of them is blue the other is very slightly smaller, green and covered in loads of Pokemon and cartoon stickers.
    • First-aid kit: This compact travel first-aid kit normally kept in the glove box of his parents car is over-packed. It has bandages, plasters, gauze, some anti-septic, antibiotics, painkillers, a pair of sharp scissors, even a pair of epipens, among other similar items. Not a exhaustive amount of stuff, it isn't a super large kit but it contains all the things a overly prepared and cautious mother might want on hand encase of emergency.
    • "Cody": A companion and comfort to the boy, both before and now during the apocalypse. A cuddly plushie of a brown-fox.
    • Coloring supplies: Lucus has a coloring book, some crayons, as well as a mostly blank plain book whose cover is coated in similar stickers tot he water bottles, some pencils, a sharpeners and eraser in his bag. Mostly more to keep him entertained during the car journeys.
    • Pack of Batteries: Lucus had no idea what would be useful so just stuffed a packet of 4AA batteries and a single 9V when grabbing his supplies, stuffing it all in his bag.
    • Kids Watch: Lucus owns and wears on his right wrist, a relatively cheap black and green digital watch with a small yellow smiley-face sticker from his school teacher on it.
  • Notable skills:
    • Climbing: Lucus is a super energetic kid and has a habit of climbing up to places where he can't normally reach, especially trees or atop fences or walls that his mother thought were way, way too height for him. Equally good is he at getting down unhurt.
    • Hiding: Due to a combination of his small size, an excessive amount of hide and seek, efforts to sneak away to climb up something before his parents notice and a naturally quiet gate; Lucus is great are remaining hidden or moving around quietly and unnoticed.
  • Background: Lucus was a normal everyday kid from Belgium taking a holiday with his family. Staying in a hotel in Hundsberg. Day-0, he was in a rented car with his parents heading to a amusement park, when it crashed after encountering individuals of the first wave... Lucus doesn't really know what happened in between except after he woke up from the crash his parents were gone and weren't responding to the emergency phone call. So he scavenged things from the car he was always told the location of encase of emergency and went out searching for them... Only to encounter the hordes of the undying hours later and promptly running away scared after nearly getting grabbed by one and hiding ever since.
  • Miscellaneous/Notes (optional):

My own PC is also done

  • Name: Erwin Wagner
  • Age: 22
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance:
    • Erwin stands at 1,92 meters and is of average build, he skin is lightly tanned, he's got some hints of muscle but certainly nothing special.
    • Normally he will wear a leathercoat and protective facemask in the shape of a raven... which is to say his plague doctor outfit when LARPing
    • When combat with Zombies is likely he will don a full plate mail he got for LARPing
  • Personality: Erwin certainly likes to give off the impression that he is unfazed by all of this. He's jovial to most people around and sometimes seems to have forgotten that there is a zombie-apocalypse going on. That is mere show though, in reality he is as much afraid of all of this as likely any other person is. His jokes tend to be a bit dark at times.
  • Carrier: Nyet
  • Equipment/Tools:
    • Plate Mail: What he wore at Day 0
    • Plague Doctors garb: His other outfit for LARPing
    • Belt pockets: He always was a little... odd and those beltpockets contain all kinds of bits and pieces
      • Playing Cards
      • Chargers: Not likely of much use... but they're there
      • Small Flashlight
      • Pen: Formed like a torpedo (got it from a convention)
      • 3DS: Still charged since he didn't play with it at the festival
      • Bandaids
      • Bandages
      • uSB-Stick: Contains his Charactersheet alongside one for D&D... nothing useful likely
      • Cutlery: Camping cutlery, the closest thing he got to a weapon
    • "Hank": A plushy in the form of a Lynx. Erwin will use it as a form of comfort in this dire time,
  • Notable skills:
    • Medieval style fighting
  • Background: Erwin was always a LARPer and D&D player. Before the apocalypse he was a normal student, not a bad one by any means but also not really the best either. His life up until then went fairly normal. shortly before Day 0 he went on a LARP festival, the Drachenburgfest, a one week long event. One day as he was in Limbo there (in which one goes if one is killed IC) he heard quite the commotion from back at the camp, after he resurrected he went the only to find the camp totally wasted. At first he thought this only to be the result of a small band of players taking this a bit too serious but as he ventured to the nearby woods he saw a single zombie feasting on a human, seeing as this was very likely not IC anymore he quickly made a run for it, grabbed his belt with the pockets along with the plague doctor outfit from the camp and ran away.
  • Miscellaneous/Notes (optional):
    • He has no actual weapon since his "mace" was a LARP weapon which would do precisely nothing against either zombies or humans, hence he just left it behind.

Initially I wasn't sure, but after thinking about it I'm interested. I'm pretty much pitching in an alternate universe of an Author Avatar with a real first name and fictitious last name. Here's what I got:

  • Name: Nick Jensen
  • Age: 21 years
  • Gender: Cis-male
  • Appearance: 5'6.5”, brown hair, brown eyes, 210 lbs (but the apocalypse might change that), some muscle mixed with fat. Very lightly tanned. Wears a black short-sleeved shirt with a pocket, black track pants with white stripes, a green and black coat with zipper pockets, black shoes. Also wears glasses with transition lens (isn't blind without them, but useful for reading without getting headaches).
  • Personality: Realistic philosophical temperament, curious, analytical, speculative, resourceful to an extent. Prefers a rational approach to things, but can sometimes dismiss other people's emotions if they don't seem to serve a purpose. Kind of a dork at times. Serious most of the time. Not particularly social except on semi-rare occasions or if necessary, will prefer to be alone when feasible and safe.
  • Carrier: No
  • Equipment/Tools: Pocket change (local currency), mobile phone w/ flashlight, rental car keys, wallet with various cards, notepad w/ pen, a digital watch that tells the day and time.
  • Notable skills:
    • Knack For Electronics: Before the Outbreak, Nick was a computer nerd learning various aspects of computer science. As a result, he has some familiarity with the inner workings and components of several electronic devices such as computers (both of the desktop and laptop variety), along with radios to an extent and mobile phones. While this information may be of limited use in a zombie apocalypse, it might prove useful for fixing complex devices or rigging them to serve other practical purposes.
    • Passable Guitar Skills: While he's no rock star by any means, Jensen has enough experience and familiarity with a guitar to provide a decent morale boost, granted there aren't any damn zombies in the crowd listening to it.
  • Background: Before the outbreak, Nick was an aspiring scientist learning how to become a computer tech in the United States. He was nearly finished with his associates degree when he decided to use his accumulated vacation time to travel abroad for 10 days, only for the outbreak to begin before he could return home. Stranded in an unfamiliar land with no way back, Jensen initially took the outbreak hard with feelings of a promising future taken away from him, combined with a sense of alienation having to survive in a land he barely knows a thing about with an unfamiliar culture and probable language barriers. Still hoping to find some kind of relief, Jensen continues searching for shelter and possibly a group out of both necessity and the fact that even he has his limits on isolation.
  • Miscellaneous/Notes (optional): Cannot relieve depression with alcohol, becomes irritable and surly when intoxicated and will pick fights with people under the influence. Likes intelligence, creativity, sensible action, and working for the benefit of the group. Dislikes stupidly selfish actions, senseless charity, and hurting innocent people.

Voila.

Name: OLt. Cordelia Schwarzschild

  • Age: 29
  • Gender: Agender, uses she/her for convenience and consistency’s sake.
  • Appearance: 188cm, 68kg, very lithe. Short, straight black hair somewhat longer than regulation. Green left eye, grey right eye. Wearing slightly tattered military fatigues.
  • Personality: Generally reserved and introverted, but friendly. Does not suffer fools gladly, and her respect, once lost, is difficult to earn back. Has high standards for everyone around her and holds herself to those high standards as well. Tends to snark a lot, much to the annoyance of her superior officers.
  • Carrier: Yeah
  • Equipment/Tools:
    • (1) HK MP7A1. She would have prefered something larger, but it’s what survived the crash and she could get before she had to start putting bullets in zombies.
      • (1) Reflex red dot sight attachment
    • (1) backpack with a bunch of stuff in/attached to it.
      • (1) First aid kit, with things like bandages, ibuprofen, etc.
      • (5) days worth of MREs for 3 people.
      • (1) Compass
      • (5) days worth of fresh water in plastic bottles for 3 people
      • (1) magnetic compass
      • (1) High-power flashlight
      • (4) Spare rechargeable D-batteries and charger
      • (1) Propane-/solar-fueled electric generator with 3 standard wall-socket plugs.
      • (1) Butane lighter
      • (1) Flint and steel, in case above runs out of fuel
      • (2) Rain ponchos
      • (1) sleeping bag
      • (1) travel pillow
      • (1) small, one-person tent
      • (2) rolls of duct tape. Never know when that’s going to be useful
    • (4) 30-round HK 4.6x30mm magazines
    • (1) digital watch with both a digital and a separate magnetic compass
    • (1) pair of miraculously-unbroken aviator’s sunglasses.
    • (1) 1.5L aluminium vacuum-insulated water bottle, currently full with fresh water.
    • (1) set of military fatigues
    • (1) Swiss Army Knife
    • (1) lightly-cracked iPhone and charger therefor.
    • (1) of those military-grade laptops that are damn-near impossible to destroy. Somehow, she managed to mess up the wireless card and it’s now somewhat wonky. To be fair, it did survive a plane crash and being used to brain a zombie repeatedly and still works perfectly fine otherwise. She also has a charger for it, though the wire casing is as much electrical tape as it is the original rubber, now.
  • Notable skills:
    • Piloting: Given the owner’s manual and a few hours, can pilot just about anything, with varying degrees of competence.
    • Survival training: Basic, can forage for food, can start a fire, that sort of thing. The stuff that would be useful if you had to bail out of an airplane over territory that isn’t near civilization and wait for rescue.
    • Tinkering: She builds small robots and drones as a hobby and has a degree in mechanical engineering.
    • Reasonably competent shot with a variety of weapons.
    • Basic first aid: Can do, well, basic first aid. Bandaging wounds, setting bones, the like. Nothing fancy, though.
  • Background:
Cut down but the battle won
    Oh, what is it worth?
When all that's left is hurt?

Queen of Peace, Florence + The Machine

Cordelia was born in Geneva, while her parents, both German citizens, were on vacation in Switzerland. She grew up mainly in Munich, went to school to become an engineer, then went into the air force to become a pilot. She had hoped to become an astronaut, but failed, and decided that flying was the next-best thing to going into space. And, hey, being a pilot helped in the road to becoming an astronaut, right?
Regardless, she was flying a transport plane loaded with supplies for a NATO base shortly the shit-fan confluence happened and there started to be zombies, as a precautionary field resupply measure in case it would be a while before that could be done again. And then a rather more local shit-fan confluence happened and her plane suffered a massive mechanical failure. Her copilot and her were barely able to set the plane down, and they crashed in a forest in rural Central Europe. Cordelia, when she came too, had a steel beam impaled through her right arm, which was also broken, and glass shards in her right leg, and likely a sprained ankle. Her copilot was gone. Hopefully, she’d survived. Also to her dismay, the plane was surrounded by zombies. She managed to quietly retrieve an MP7 from the cargo bay and clear herself a path. Most of the cargo was wrecked, but she salvaged what she felt she could reasonably carry. After her escape from the zombies, she sat down and tended to her wounds, noticing a bruise which looked an awful lot like a bite mark, but she dismissed it as just a bruise from having just survived a plane crash. Not turning into a zombie over the next couple of days reinforced that notion. She set off to try to find other survivors - safety in numbers and all that.
  • Miscellaneous/Notes (optional):
    • She speaks French and German fluently, and English passably.
    • Her birthday is November 6th.
    • She is left-handed.
    • She walks with a slight limp because plane crash.
    • Copilot’s fate is deliberately left ambiguous. Her name’s Clarisse Mueller, should anyone care.

  • Name : Quintin Webb
  • Age: 38
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Quintin is a hard-faced, black man who stands at an imposing six foot six. He is quite built from prison exercise and carries a few tattoos on his arm. He keeps his hair cut short in a closely shaved fade and has a small amount of facial scruff. While he looks quite intimidating, his eyes are kind and warm. Wears a grey sweater and dark blue jeans with hiking boots.
  • Personality: Before his incarceration, Quintin was a loud, foul-mouthed, thug who was obsessed with maintaining his image. Street cred was all that he cared about. However, spending fifteen years in prison softened his perspective on life greatly and he has become an introspective, quiet, and tolerant man who is respectful of all life he encounters. He now seeks to remedy all the ills he's done the world. He has become somewhat claustrophobic after spending so long in a cramped cell and can't shake the habit of looking over his back constantly - which is probably a safe habit to have in a zombie apocalypse. He appreciates a good laugh and is pretty brutally honest.
  • Carrier: No
  • Equipment/Tools:
    • Smith and Wesson .38 Revolver - his standard weapon in these trying times
    • Plastic baggie - filled with 40 additional bullets for his revolver.
    • Clothes - Apart from the clothes on his back, he has an extra sweater or two and some cheap T-shirts.
    • Drilling Hammer - portable hammer with a lot of power behind it, especially with Quintin's arm behind it. His go-to melee weapon when he's out of ammo or when things get too up close and personal.
    • Lifestraw Water Filter - picked up while he raided a camping store. Enables him to drink any source of water safely.
    • Rope - Also picked up during his camping store raid. Just a fifteen foot coil of rope.
    • Flashlight - A heavy duty lightbringer that can also serve as a bludgeon should the need arrive.
    • Duffel Bag - A US Army survival duffel bag that he stores all his stuff in and can be picked up and carried quickly.
  • Skills - Quintin is large and strong, meaning he can lift pretty heavy things and his punches can really knock some sense into most people. Surviving the apocalypse has given him some basic survival skills. Is very learned about hip-hop history, horror movies, and numerous works of American literature. Pretty skilled with most pistols and shotguns. Has some familiarity with machine pistols.
  • Background: Quintin was born to be in prison. Even in third grade, when asked by his teacher where he saw himself in twenty years, he wrote "locked up." With no father and a coke-addicted mother, Quintin was left to struggle on his own on the mean streets where he grew up. After slinging some drugs in his youth, he quickly hooked up with a crew as a contract killer. He was pretty good at it - scoring two successful kills without consequence. Unfortunately for him, his third kill was the one they caught him doing and he was sentenced to Death Row. Initially resentful and arrogant, Quintin caused problems for the prison staff and other inmates. However, after a few years chilled him out and gave him some time to reflect, he quickly decided to put his time in the joint to good use and began reading every book he could get his hands on and work out voraciously. After reading and reflection, Quintin began his transformative journey. Realizing that he had done some reprehensible things in his past, he decided to spend the rest of his life dedicated to positive things. He was content to do this behind bars and await his execution but the zombie apocalypse struck and wiped out most of the prisoners and guards. Now alone and wandering, Quintin resolves to help as many survivors as he can find and perhaps in some small way, it will make up for all he's done.

So, I've given it some thought and I've come to the conclusion that I actually won't be joining the game. I keep going to make a post but can't come up with anything substantial, and it's pretty much murdered my drive for it. Sorry for the inconvenience. >.<

If you're still taking submissions I have one.

"The wronged will never forget."

  • Name: Emily Morgan

  • Age: 38, one of the youngest Detective Sergeants or Senior Sergeants in Victoria Police history.

  • Gender: Female, possibly bi according to rumour.

  • Appearance: [
    https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4_01_2017_7_31_14_pm.png
"The rest of the world may want to waste away in the old world. I want to try and save this one."

Five foot six inches, short red hair which lends credibility to what some claim about her. Emily served long enough to have the old uniforms used by Vic Pol.

  • Personality: On the job Emily comes across as quite serious and devoted to her work, not seeing the police as just important and something she wants to do well but as a career she genuinely enjoys despite it's hardships. At times she questions how ungrateful people are and wonders why it's worth bothering, but outside the uniform Emily is pretty chill, if showing signs of the strain from her profession.

  • Carrier: No, Emily is not a carrier. If she was bitten then in all likelihood she would die.

  • Equipment/Tools: Emily would be equipped with the standard issue Heckler & Koch Military & Police automatic, collapsible baton, CS spray, flashlight and handcuffs. When they went out of service she also picked up a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver, a good fifteen years obsolete and completely out of line with what she is allowed on the force but justified as having to go undercover.

  • Notable skills: Aside from her dedication to the job Emily has background in undercover, infiltrating criminal organizations or pursuing leads or investigating a case that is suspicious, and she is excellent in court whether acting as a police witness or prosecutor. Due to the nature of the job she relies heavily on the investigating of others she works with and the services of rank and file police officers or special police.

Not to say that she cannot do the job or has others do the job for her: far from it. But Emily would look at, for example, discrepancies in social security, see that it is someone who is trying to defraud customers and she and other detectives would look at how far the fraud goes, constables would make the arrest, if it were a case of a high risk arrest she can pursue but may or may not be allowed the use of special police or the Special Operations Group SWAT team. Emily has no problem in doing these arrests or cases herself but simply due to her rank and standing she is more of a back line or office detective or police woman.

  • Background: Emily entered into the Victoria Police where she investigated a retirement home death due to negligence, where she wanted to pursue a murder charge. Even though the courts did not reach this finding she impressed with her tenacity and investigative skills, particularly down to interviewing the people involved. Her next case was a social security scam where vulnerable welfare recepients were targeted and due to her work the matter eventually reached the Federal Police and overseas where the crimes originated from, and it was encouraged that she look at detective work.

Due to the notoriety of the gangland wars Emily took great interest in this path and upon promotion to senior constable took up working for the courts, and after going back to the academy to retrain she was moved to working as a detective. Her first case was what looked to be a suicide, however Emily discovered that what had actually happened was a last stand against a large gang and she wanted to find out why. The answer was to go undercover, where it turned out the mob were hired to intimidate witnesses to a pharmaceutical cover up who were testing some form of weapon. As she rose through the ranks Emily would eventually forget about the case, with work in pedophilia, child kidnapping, targeting of police and gun running being some of the highlights, or lowlights rather, big cases she worked on.

Emily would eventually reach the rank of Detective Senior Sergeant and, seeing that she could do more as an officer, went back in uniform where she currently runs and operates a station in Swan Hill, mainly traffic and deployment of different branches of the police, with her most recent case being the retrieval of several boat arrivals who she is tasked with procession prior to further action as needed.

  • Miscellaneous/Notes (optional): Character trope page.

  • The Anti-Nihilist: Emily had to shoot a suspect in several cases and would go into a bout of depression and self-doubt, before coming to terms with killing those people meant that others live, and she shouldn’t give up on people.

  • Classical Anti-Hero: Despite her success Emily is plagued by self-doubt and feelings that she should have done more, that she should be better.

  • Covert Pervert: Has an open dating life and is frank about her relationships and sexual interests.

  • Drink Order: Black Russians or Kahlua and Lemonade.

Drives Like Crazy: In keeping with being a (mostly) law abiding officer it is realistic, but for a call out Emily will drive to a location within the very limits of the legal speed and road laws.

  • Girl Next Door: Outside of the job she comes across as a typical young woman, into dating, films and even video games going by the way she criticizes content found in some of them.

  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Discussed during her time in undercover and having to shoot someone in self defense.

  • Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: When working with a Senior Constable investigating children being kidnapped as part of a child porn ring she turns a blind eye to him roughing up a suspect and when a Probationary Constable killed another suspect in suspicious circumstances she claimed it was in self-defense, this was after another officer was shot so her word was more easily accepted. The truth is she is not sure if it was or not but was willing to protect the Constable given who it was he shot.

  • Mrs Vice Girl: Open about smoking, drinking and sleeping around. Emily doesn’t even pretend these are habits she shouldn’t take part in, but tries to justify it through the job and that she tries to be a good person despite these faults.

  • Pop-Cultured Badass: Impressive detective skills and a good shot, and in one scene discusses Australia getting an R rating for video games and how advertising for one was banned from broadcast.

  • Silly Rabbit, Cynicism Is for Losers!: A case with Emily and Probationary Constable Bradley Thomas will have him bring up the games he plays, all of them in the style of ‘the world is doomed, there’s no hope.’ Emily responded incredulously, “You honestly play those?”

  • Street Smart: Amy in more in tune with the criminal underworld than other police and uses her knowledge to further her investigations.

  • Take That!: On games that have a very serious dark tone. As she puts it:

Emily: I’d rather play Saints Row.
Bradley: You’d rather play games where you’re a crime lord?
Emily: You don’t? At least they’re fun.

  • Upbringing Makes the Hero: Credits this to the way she is as a Detective, as well as a then Constable that is considered a very ideal portrayal of the police.
