"Fat-bottomed girls, you make the rocking world go 'round!"
Queen, "Fat Bottomed Girls"

Simply put, this character is outright attracted to fat people on an aesthetic level. Often treated as strictly as fetishists with inclinations toward feederism, if not outright Acceptable Targets. In Real Life, some prefer the term "Fat Admirer."

Both labels are often applied to anyone who dates a heavy person but isn't overweight themselves, regardless of any other qualities they like in the person or if they simply find that person attractive with no particular fetish.

This is Truth in Television. Many ancient and modern cultures prefer hefty, moderately overweight women to skinny ones.note  (Two examples from Western countries: the 17th-century Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens is so famous for his depictions of plump, plushly upholstered women that his name has been borrowed to describe that style of feminine beauty. Also, in The Gay '90s, the actress Lillian Russell weighed 200 pounds in her prime, and was considered one of the most beautiful and desirable women in America.) The pop-culture obsession with thin women is actually relatively new.

Related to Big Beautiful Woman, Big Beautiful Man, and Fat and Proud. Compare and contrast to Amazon Chaser, if the Amazonian Beauty is also overweight while still strong.

    Anime & Manga
  • A one-shot character from Ai Kora was Gokou Ooba, a wealthy teen with a thing for fat girls who'd had a crush on Ayame's fattened-up version from an earlier chapter.
  • In the manga version of Air Gear, this trope is used to first invoke and then deconstruct the Ugly Guy, Hot Wife trope; the fat and ugly Onigiri scores a beautiful girlfriend who is attracted to him because she's a chubby chaser. But then, when she sees that Buccha is even fatter than Onigiri, she dumps him for Buccha. Then she dumps Buccha for a third guy who's even fatter. The "moral" here? If a relationship is based purely on one party appealing to the other's fetish, then that first party is in trouble if a third party who hits the second party's kink button even better comes along.
  • Baki the Grappler: Biscuit Oliva has a morbidly obese wife named Maria who used to be Formerly Fit but gained weight due to her medication. While she is enormously fat, Oliva is shown to dote on her and considers her to be beautiful. He also mentioned that he became enormously strong so he could carry her.
  • Boruto: Sai is implied to have a thing for larger women, as when working as a teacher of the Ninja Academy he suggests using Chocho, who's very chubby, as an art model, calling her "the most beautiful girl of the class". Ironically, his wife is very fit. Although the first time he met his wife, he told her the opposite of what he was thinking and called her "beautiful".
  • The Dangers in My Heart: Kenta Kanzaki proudly prefers women with a "little" meat on them. And by a little, he means the more the better. He openly states this in front of his mutual crush Hara, a Nice Girl on the chubby side, when she confesses to wanting to go on a diet. Although she's actually flattered and they start hanging out.
  • In the one shot h-manga, Every Woman is Venus, a budding artist bribes the girl he has a crush on with food so she'll gain some weight while he sketches her in the nude. When she asks why he chose her instead of a more fit girl, he says that he believes all women are beautiful in their own way, and when he overheard some guys talking about how good being with a fat girl is, he started talking to her and instantly attracted to her. After a romp in the art studio, she makes him promise not to show the sketch to anyone else, and he says that the piece is for how own personal collection, and no one else will see it. Unfortunately, the sketch is sent, without him knowing, to a nearby art museum as part of a showcase for local artists, and despite him swearing that he has no idea who entered the work in his name, she still yells at him in public.
  • Golden Kamuy: Kiroranke prefers his women big and plump, with his wife's stocky build being an example of his preferences. Sofia's plump appearance in her middle age delights him immensely.
  • In Hatsukoi Zombie, the peppy gyaru Mimata Noa turns out to have a thing for big-boned males in general. She's attracted to Miyakanojou Shizuka, a fat otaku who also fell for her but is in denial. They manage to hook up with Tarou's help.
  • In His and Her Circumstances, a supporting character bought and fed her skinny boyfriend large amounts of food, because she really wanted him to be fat again like he was when they were kids.
  • Fujiwara mentions in her final focus chapter of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War that she dreams of one day marrying a sumo wrestler. While she had shown interest in sumo in the past, it's unclear just how serious she was being.
  • In Manly Appetites: Minegishi Loves Otsu, Minegishi, the most handsome, kindly, beloved guy in the office, has it bad for Otsu, who can't figure out why Minegishi is so fixated on him, let alone why he keeps giving him delicious homemade dishes and great snacks. Otsu doesn't see himself as attractive so he's suspicious of Minegishi's motives, but Minegishi absolutely loves Otsu's body, so much so that he collects round plush toys because they remind him of Otsu, and when Otsu considers going on a diet, Minegishi crumples to the floor in despair and begs him to not lose weight.
  • March Comes in Like a Lion: As a result of her love for round and plump things, Akari appreciates people with a "full" figure. Her first meeting with Nikaidou shows a comical, quirky attraction to him, and clear dismay is shown in her face and monologue when he attempts to limit the amount of food he eats at her place.
  • Takako Shimura's Musume No Iede is literally a manga revolving around a high school girl who has a Big Beautiful Man fetish. She's fallen for her father's boyfriend, her mother's new husband, and a local boy her age all within the first few chapters.

  • In Season 1 of Osomatsu-san, Karamatsu is less than pleased when the flower he douses with booze becomes a big, bossy gonk fairy who tries to marry him instead of a cute, lithe girl as it happened with Chibita. Her fate is uncertain after she becomes a literal giant carnivorous flower monster... until season 2, that is, when we learn that she has returned to her human form and has found a much more willing lover... Iyami. We find that out when Osomatsu, Choromatsu, and Jyushimatsu pay Iyami an impromptu visit and accidentally interrupt a lovemaking session between the two.
  • In Paprika, Dr. Chiba fantasizes about, saves, and ultimately weds the grossly obese, if pleasant, kindhearted, and genius-level smart Dr. Tokita.
  • Please Tell Me Galkochan: Supo-o may be one as he fantasizes about Nikuko wearing fanservicey costumes and seems attracted to her.
  • Pochamani: Tagami is a self-professed "chubby maniac" who loves cuddling his plump little girlfriend Tsugumi. In particular, he's attracted to Tsugumi because she's both Fat and Proud. Large girls who still obsess over their Weight Woes do not attract his attention long.

    Arts
  • Peter Paul Rubens painted a lot of people with different figures in various states of dress, but "chubby nude women" was common enough that Ruben(s)esque is now used as a word for Big Beautiful Woman.
  • Some of the art by Fredrik K.T. Andersson (mostly NSFW) features male elves being attracted by noticeably chubby (or outright fat) female humans, female elves being typically slender. An example (SFW pic, unlike the rest of the site).

    Comic Books
  • Rose is Rose: Jimbo prefers Rose if she were fat, so much so that he often looks through wide reflections of her to fantasize about it.
  • In Legion of Super-Heroes, Triplicate Girl in the original continuity married the Big Fun of the team Chuck Taine, AKA Bouncing Boy, and was shown to be just as crazy about him as he was about her. When she first met Superboy, she called him "a little thin for my taste", implying Chuck'' figure is the opposite of a problem to her.
  • Wonder Woman Vol 1: Both Oscar Sweetgulper and "Sleeko" prefer their women on the large side, and thus spend their appearances romancing Etta Candy. They both gift her with sweets every time they see her.

    Fan Works
  • In the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fic The Fattenator Chronicles, damage to Cameron's chip causes her to develop an eating disorder as her body is now constantly insisting it needs food; a few months after the accident, John admits to Cameron that a conversation with a therapist helped him realise that he is actually more attracted to her now that she's larger.
  • The Harry Potter fic "Widening Witches" opens with the discovery that Hermione has contracted a rare wizarding disease, Erysichton's Touch, which gives the sufferer an insatiable hunger that requires them to gorge themselves and convert most of that into fat. Basically the day after she contracts the disease, Hermione has grown to weigh 700 pounds and she'll never be able to lose it, but Harry finds that he enjoys the sense of comfort from embracing her new, larger form, and also enjoys it when some of Hermione's friends from Hogwarts (Susan Bones and Daphne Greengrass) visit the Grangers and reveal that they also caught the disease.
  • Basically defied in the Kim Possible fic "Snippets of Forever" when it analyses the aftermath of Ron's weight gain in "Grande Size Me". While Kim makes it clear that she wouldn't have broken up with Ron because of his weight gain and has no problem with a photo of them as a couple being in the yearbook even when he was overweight, she affirms that she would have at least suggested they take a break as a couple until he was no longer endangering his health with his new diet.
  • Played for Laughs in Royal Adviser, The Unit - RGRE. All Equestrian females have a thing for fat males. They go crazy with attraction when Celestia hires an obese human man as her advisor.
  • In the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Flash Forward Fic "The Miracleverse," Starlight develops an interest in Sunburst's stress-eating habit, and through a combination of coercion and casting a spell that makes him finish every meal even if he's not hungry, she makes Sunburst gain a lot of weight for her own pleasure.
  • Reverse Falls AU, being based on a mirror universe of Gravity Falls, often has Mabel have a thing for the still chubby Gideon. Gideon for his part appreciates this as much as regular Mabel appreciates Gideon's interest in her (which to say, not at all), due to the fact that Reverse Mabel is usually depicted as being just as nuts as regular Gideon.
  • Lampshaded in the Hazbin Hotel fic "Temptation is a Virtue". Lute always had feelings for Adam, but as soon as he starts putting on weight, she finds herself feeling more and more enamored with him. Adam, however, quickly realizes that she has a belly kink and he's more than happy to let her have fun.

    Films — Animation
  • Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa: Moto Moto lusts after large women, and even has an entire song where he states "I like 'em big, I like 'em chunky". Justified, as he's a hippopotamus. This is deconstructed as the film goes on, as Gloria does not appreciate Moto Moto only liking her for her features and not her as a person, especially after Melman interrupts their date and rants to Moto Moto about how he would treat her if he were in his place.
  • In Monster House, it's shown that Mr. Nebbercracker's wife was a morbidly obese woman who was raised as a freakshow attraction in a carnival. Flashbacks showed that while children mocked and jeered her, Nebbercracker fell in love with her at sight.
  • In Robots, Bigweld shows immediate attraction in Aunt Fanny, especially her enormous rear end. The attraction is mutual, as Aunt Fanny earlier described Bigweld as "a lot of robot" in a lovestruck tone.

    Films — Live-Action
  • In Carry On Again Doctor, medical orderly Gladstone Screwer has spent his entire life on the Beatific Islands, where the standard of beauty holds that bigger is better. • Andy García's lead in City Island has plenty of family issues: in his teen son's case, it's keeping the secret of his love of very fat women, including asking a fat girl at school to skip class with him so that he can feed her donuts, and a foray in the dark corners of the internet which leads him to stumble on feedee webcam subscription porn site belonging to "Botero" — which is actually his super-sized neighbor's screen name. (When she discovers this, "Botero" does not kindle any romance with the boy, but rather plays Cyrano between him and the fat girl at school, even chaperoning the two on a date, as the classmate tries to gorge like her, while he watches.) This subplot culminates with him on a couch, squished against the two objects of his affection while they munch on cheese puffs and watch TV, as his newfound confidence and self-acceptance lets him tell his family about his "secret", especially since everybody else has much more serious secrets that they've been keeping, and he ends the film by bringing his fat, feedee girlfriend and their even fatter pornstar mentor/chaperone with him to a family barbecue that has had to make special provision for how much food the women will eat.
"You're a classic feeder, Vinnie. You gain pleasure from giving pleasure."
  • Stephen in Django Unchained, a strict taskmaster to the other slaves under his watch... except for Cora, the portly housemaid.
  • In Epic Movie (2007), during the scene where Mystique asks Peter what she should shapeshift into before they have sex, he at first asks for more conventionally attractive features such as a larger ass and a bigger breast size. He then requests a monobrow which makes her do a double-take before she goes through with it. His final request is "big flabby grandma arms" and "bingo wings like a fat blue Britney Spears". She's disgusted, but goes through with the request, getting incredibly fat and flabby, showing off her bingo wings. He's noticeably more turned on than any of the previous requests, even drooling. This is the final request he makes before they get it on.
    "COME HERE!"
  • Gridiron Gang features a waterboy for a football team of reform school kids, who await the arrival of a group of cheerleaders from a girls' reform school. • Grimsby: Nobby is not only married to a large woman but also confuses an overweight maid as somebody he needs to seduce for information when told to look for a gorgeous woman in a green dress.
  • Hairspray:
    • It's implied that Mr. Pinky, who owns a plus-sized clothing boutique, is also a Chubby Chaser. When Edna bargains with him for a new bustier, he licks his lips and guesses that she's a 54 DD. Edna's answer that she's actually a EEE makes him scream with joy.
      "I HIT THE MOTHER LODE!"
    • The 2007 adaptation of the film has Wilbur Turnblad only interested in large women—and they don't come much larger than his wife Edna. At one point, Wilbur even says that he's never even looked at another woman: "This heart only beats for a size 60." Notably, when Velma Von Tussle—a thin, vivacious blonde—shows up in an extremely sexy red dress to seduce Wilbur, he barely notices her increasingly obvious innuendos and, when she tries literally throwing herself at him, pushes her off without a second thought.
  • The Hunt for Red October: One of the things Vasily Borodin mentions wanting to do in America is to marry "a round American woman".

  • Adrian from Pain & Gain goes after the fat nurse Robin who is treating his erectile dysfunction. Adrian admits that one reason he is so attracted to Robin is because of her heavy body.

  • The title character in Shallow Hal becomes interested in larger women through hypnosis. Once the love goggles have been lifted, Hal realizes the object of his affection is still beautiful. Also, twice his size. Many people at the company he works at think he's just dating her to kiss up to her father, who's the boss of the company, unaware there is genuine attraction in their relationship.
  • Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs has a fetish for chasing obese women. Though this is mainly because once they've been sufficiently starved in his basement, their skin is now much easier to cut off...
  • Kurd from Take the Lead has a crush on Big Girl. He gets a little uncomfortable when he starts dancing with her at first, but that fades as the film progresses.
  • Three Thousand Years of Longing has Prince Ibrahim, who creates a harem of plus-size concubines.

    Literature

  • In Behold the Man, a time traveler lands in AD 28 to meet Christ, unaware that his arrival will lead everyone to believe he is the messiah. In flashbacks to the present, the protagonist has a tryst with an overweight girl at bible camp, mirrored in a strange scene with Mary of Nazareth (who is also quite hefty).
  • Claudius the God: Claudius describes Vinicianus as "one of those little rat-like men who have the same love for women of abundant charms as rats have for large pumpkins".
  • Dream Park: In The Moon Maze Game, the standards of female beauty have reversed by the year 2085, with plumpness being the desirable trait in women. However, the ideal woman also works under a "Fit/Fat" model where her well-padded curves overlay impressive muscles and a blood chemistry maintained at the peak of physiological health.
  • "Fat Fred," an "angel" from John Varley's Wizard. By the standards of a race that has next to no body fat and sees humans as rather pudgy, anyway.
  • Willy Fleet from Ray Bradbury's "The Illustrated Woman" went into a rhapsody when he first encountered his plus-sized wife.
Willy: Michaelangelo would have loved you. Titian would have loved you. Da Vinci would have loved you. They knew what they were doing in those days. Size. Size is everything.
  • Discworld: The Senior Wrangler of Unseen University is implied to have a thing for large women. In Hogfather he tries to court the plump and somewhat frumpy Cheerful Fairy, and in The Last Continent he's frequently distracted by thoughts of Mrs. Whitlow, the University's fat, middle-aged head housekeeper.
  • When The Gunslinger meets the preaching woman Sylvia Pittston, who weighs over 300 pounds, he describes feeling a red lust for her that causes him to shake. The Man in Black had a more severe reaction, leading to Sylvia's brief impregnation. However, the fact that this happens to every man in town implies that something supernatural may be involved—especially because Sylvia herself is a Fat Bitch and Sinister Minister who serves a Religion of Evil.
  • Callahan's Crosstime Saloon: Jake Stonebender explicitly likes his women large. He initially falls for Mary Callahan (who is both heavy and muscular due to her skill at blacksmithing) and later meets and marries Zoe, a heavyset bass player.
  • One of the German soldiers in All Quiet on the Western Front talks about how he likes fat girls a lot.
  • Kurik from The Elenium has a rather plump wife, to whom he is Happily Married. Another character even mentions that Kurik likes plump women. He oddly subverts this when he is revealed to have had an affair -and a child- with a woman significantly skinnier than his wife.
  • Sookaiya "Soo" Venatosh, a female mercenary in Riesel Tales: Two Hunters, has a preference for heavy guys.
  • Possibly John Tyler of Nightside. His love interest, Suzie, is noted to be "comfortably padded" and eat a lot of junk, and his last girlfriend, Bad Penny, is also said to be slightly overweight.
  • In the works of Agatha Christie, Hercule Poirot is usually a Celibate Eccentric Genius with barely any interest in women, except from an objective standpoint. All of that goes out the window, though, when he encounters Countess Vera Rossakoff, a Russian noble who is described as being as fat and vivacious as he is small and methodical. Canonically, she is the only woman whom he ever even bothers to pursue. It's lampshaded by the omniscient narrator, who remarks "It is the misfortune of small, precise men to hanker after large, flamboyant women."
  • In the novelization of Mobile Suit Gundam, Char Aznable pursues a relationship with Margaret Ring Blair, who is said to have very plump lips and a full waist.

When Booth asks Bones for a polite way of saying "fat", his grandfather tells him that there's nothing wrong with liking fat women, and that his wife (Booth's grandmother) had "a little jam in her jelly". As soon as he gets to the club, he starts eyeing up the women on the dance floor. When Bones and Booth are ready to go, they realise that he's already on the dance floor grinding between the women he was eying up before, so they stick around for a while.
  • Cheers: In "Rat Girl", Sam is shot down by a hot babe—and that hot babe is soon after seen going out with short, balding, overweight Paul. Paul explains that she's a "chubby-chaser."
  • CSI: In "Big Middle", a male victim turns out to have had a fetish for large women, although the death ultimately proves to be accidental, as a fat woman he was having sex with passed out on top of him, suffocating him. There is certainly an element of Asshole Victim, however, as he was a womanizer who preyed on the insecurities of large women before dumping them.
  • Reverend Fuller, in the Family Matters episode "Pound Foolish", admits that he loves big beautiful women, especially Aunt Oonah, from Altoona, who has put on a lot of weight since her last appearance.
  • House: In "Heavy", a patient's husband admits that he loves it when his wife puts on a few more pounds, especially when it means she's pregnant. For that matter, he seems to be even more turned on by a preggo wife on the whole. The patient likes her curvier body and downright becomes angry when the doctors told her that she needed to do surgery that would cause her to lose weight. We later learn that she's been fooling around with other men who evidently were attracted to her size. House suggests that she switch to a website for surgical scar fetishists instead.

The boss immediately fires him not for the harassment, but because he can't have someone working for him "who is completely out of his fucking mind".
  • 'Malcolm in the Middle'':
    • Hal goes off the deep end when a pregnant Lois grows a few sizes. He spends a whole episode injecting maple syrup and chocolate sauce into her tea and, when she buys celery, fries it in bacon grease.
    • When Lois imagines an "ideal" world where she had daughters instead of sons, the Hal of this fantasy is obese as a result of stress eating to deal with being the only guy in a household full of women, implying she shares the same tastes as her husband, though she's just as nuts about fantasy Hal as she is about real-world Hal.
  • Seinfeld

  • Todd and the Book of Pure Evil: In "Monster Fat", Jimmy the Janitor mentions having slept with hot chicks, skinny chicks, and even chicks with dicks. But the best sex of all is with fat chicks. In fact, one of the plot points of the episode is using a water pistol full of the instant obesity liquid to threaten the girl who accidentally made the fat monster. At the end of the episode, we see the Janitor on a date with an extremely attractive woman. When she leaves to visit the bathroom, he immediately produces another water pistol and squeezes it into her drink.

    Music
  • The Queen song "Fat-Bottomed Girls" revolves around the narrator recounting the history of his fetish for heavyset girls, from his sexual fixation with his nanny as a child to his experiences with groupies as an adult to his continued love of fat-bottomed women as an old man.
  • Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" uses the hypersexuality of Miami bass to promote body positivity, with the narrator openly describing his love of heavyset people and criticizing the focus on thinness in the beauty industry.
  • Trail Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Snacks" which expands upon Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" to suggest all of the woman should be plus-size:
    So give her a hug, 'cause there's more to love;
Ain't nothin' wrong with bein' big!
  • "Fat Girl" by Steel Panther is about a guy who offers sex to an obese woman simply to get a ride home from the bar. Shortly after, however, he falls in love with her and constantly wants to have sex with her.
  • "Fat" by Lindemann (the self-titled side project of Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann) was inspired by chubby chaser fetish videos.
  • Slim Shady's love of fat girls is a theme that's come up several times (which sort of makes sense - he's Lean and Mean, so it'd be Fat and Skinny. He also complains he's "tired of having skinny friends hooked on crack and Mini Thins", so maybe it means the girls can afford to eat).
    • In "As The World Turns", he hits on and attempts to rape a fat girl who turns out to be more than he bargained for. She eats his leg, and he eventually rapes her to death.
    • In "Still Don't Give A Fuck", Slim describes his ideal girl as 'a fat slut who cooks and does dishes'.
    • Fat girls in skimpy clothing are depicted charging after the Mummy version of Slim Shady in the artwork included in the booklet of The Slim Shady LP.
    • There's also some references to it in Relapse - in "We Made You", Slim gets Jessica Simpsonnote  to sing the chorus, referencing a Ripped from the Headlines story about her putting on weight. In the music video, she's played by the plus-size model Trisha Paytas, and Slim lusts after her (as her then-boyfriend Tony Romo), grinding against her, playing with her chubby belly and feeding her.
  • The male half of The Beautiful South's "Perfect Ten" (the numbers are UK dress sizes):
    Anorexic chicks,
    The model six,
They don't hold no weight with me.
    Eight or nine,
    Well, that's just fine,
But I like to hold something I can see.

    Professional Wrestling
  • Jerry Lawler was very vocal in his preference for the rotund Bertha Fayfe over the "hockey player" Alundra Blayze. Lawler's tastes would subvert this later on when the WWF began focusing more on looks when it came to women, as he unmercifully ridiculed Molly Holly during her Hollywood Pudgy angle in 2002.
  • Ring of Honor's Jay Briscoe has limited tolerance for fat men but really likes some fat women, if they have fat asses anyway. In fact, he'll lose interest if a woman's weight loss detracts from that area.
  • Mike Awesome briefly had the gimmick of the "Fat Chick Thriller" foisted onto him in the waning days of WCW where he would frequently swoon over any overweight woman he encountered and seduce his would-be conquests with large amounts of junk food.

    Stand-Up Comedy
  • Chris Rock, when discussing black men's attraction to white women, says that they are particularly attracted to heavy white women.
Chris: There's white women in this room right now don't even have scales in they house. They know they gainin' weight when too many black guys start hittin' on 'em. "These black guys are all over me! I gotta work out!" That's right, black men love a big white woman! Shit, a black man will dropkick Keira Knightley... to get to Rosie O'Donnell.

    Tabletop Games
  • Warhammer:
    • The Dwarfs prefer that their women be "round of hip, wide of girth and heavy of bosom." This is due to the fact that their secretive courtship practices revolve around the size of the bride-to-be. The father of the groom weighs her on the "nuptial scales" and calculates a dowry from her heaviness to pay to her family and her husband-to-be proves his worth to the clan he's marrying into by showing he can wrap his long beard around her waist at least once.
    • Ogres find being fat very attractive in a mate, as it means the other is both a notable Big Eater among an entire race of Big Eaters and/or strong enough to kill great monsters... which they'll then eat.

    Theater
  • In Hairspray, Wilbur Turnblad is implied to be this, as he's wholeheartedly in love with his wife Edna, who's extremely large. Edna believes herself unattractive because of her weight, but Wilbur never wavers in his devotion to her and thinks she's beautiful regardless of her size.

    Video Games
  • A part of the plot of Fat Princess is the worry that the princess' weight gain will ruin the chances of her marrying the visiting Prince Albert. At the end of the game, when Prince Albert does visit he isn't bothered by the princess' size and, in fact, finds her beautiful. Likewise, while everyone else thought the gangly, buck-toothed Prince Albert was ugly, the princess began swooning over him the second she saw him.
  • Grand Theft Auto:
    • Thor, modern-day viking and motivational speaker extraordinaire, mentions his preference for large lasses on Vice City's K-Chat radio. "A man needs something to grab onto!"
    • Same goes for Forth Right MC on San Andreas's Playback FM. "I want somethin' I can bounce up and down on!"
    • Two of the player character's optional love interests in San Andreas are female chubby chasers. Like all of the other women Carl romances, this is a way of getting more mileage out of the character customization. You can only date Michelle and Barbara if CJ's fat meter is 50% or higher.
    • In Grand Theft Auto IV, when Niko meets Brucie, a friend of his cousin Roman, Brucie says if he were gay (which he totally isn't), and a Chubby Chaser, he would go for Roman.
  • One sidequest in Yakuza 4 is, basically, a hunt for a Chubby Chaser. Akiyama's chubby-yet-cute secretary has suddenly gotten all depressed and claims that no man would be interested in her (not that she's really outright fat - by American standards, anyway), prompting Akiyama to try and prove her wrong by tracking down a man who likes 'em chubby. After some false starts, he finds one - working as a 'recruiter' for a Hostess Club, though not for long since his boss is fed up with him always bringing back the BBW's instead of the lithe beauties that such clubs generally deal in. In the end, even though you convince this fellow to come back to your office and introduce him to Hana-chan, it fails to noticeably improve her mood... since the reason for her depression is that she's in love with Akiyama, who—aside from being a hopeless playboy—has a decided preference for the traditional, slim body type.
  • In The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, during the quest to be named Nerevarine, the Zainab Ashkhan will ask you to find him a wife. According to him, she should be "pretty and plump, with big hips".

  • World of Warcraft: The Pandaren, a China-inspired race of anthropomorphic pandas, consider chubbiness to be a highly desirable trait, both for males and females. Also, according to one of the silly lines Dwarfs like their women like they like their beer: stout and bitter.
  • The local baker Jeff from Harvest Moon 64 states in his first Heart Event with Elli that he thinks women should be a little plump. He is also the love interest to Elli, who is apparently on the bigger side (but the portraits don't suggest that), and will marry her if you don't.
  • The 'Chubby' and 'Thick Ass' fetishes in HunieCam Studio are meant to appeal to the fat-loving types of fans. Beli and Jessie appeal to the Chubby fans, while Kyanna and Renee appeal to the Thick Ass fans. Sarah is lucky enough to appeal to both.
  • All males from the visual novel Mandarava - The Serpent Queen are chubby chasers. Naturally, that means that every female is big and beautiful.
  • In one flashback in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Clair implies that Fernand is into heavy women. (At least in the English translation; the Japanese version apparently had Fernand prefer older women.)
  • A side-quest in Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite! involves Hamtaro playing Cupid for a female hamster. She's looking for a "Mega-Q" boyfriend, and the one who happens to return her love is overweight.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has random female Yiga Clan members who are smitten with the rotund Master Kohga, and fawn over how cute they think his big belly is. Link isn't impressed and can piss them off by saying that he has a dumb belly.
  • Friday Night Funkin' HD: While rebuking Mommy Mearest's advances and proclaiming his love for Girlfriend, Boyfriend yells that he loves "fat bitches", even those that are not his girlfriend, but especially her. Fittingly, the depiction of Girlfriend in the mod is noticeably more chubby than her appearance in the original game, while her mother is more fit.
  • Fat Albert's stage theme in Saturday Mornin Mayhem, "Large and Way N Charge," is a song describing the singer's love for someone's fatness and gluttony. It's not clear whether Albert himself is singing the song or is the subject of it.
  • An official Nintendo ad clip for Super Mario Bros. Wonder has Bowser offering a flower to Peach, per his usual antics. However, when Peach transforms after an Elephant Fruit puts itself on her, Bowser puts the one flower away... and offers a bouquet instead.

    • Jimmy Hopkins can give Eunice chocolates and kiss her as well in two missions "This is Your School" and "Movie Tickets" you're forced to kiss her.

  • Paradise PD. Gina Jabowski regularly sexually harasses her obese coworker Dustin, whom she fed into obesity in the first place. This is later revealed to be the result of a kind of brain damage, and she's repulsed by average-weight men, perceiving them as grotesquely emaciated.
  • In the Popeye short "Weight for Me", Olive comfort eats while Popeye and Brutus are away at sea, and when they come back she's obese. While Popeye tries to help her lose weight, Brutus tries to get her to keep it on.
  • In The Simpsons, Marge herself is practically a Chubby Chaser since after all her husband Homer is a 239-pound donut-eating machine. Marge has in at least one episode called Homer her "chubby hubby". Despite being concerned over his health, Marge will make him pork chops nonetheless to keep him happy. This is actually discussed in the season 7 episode "King-sized Homer," when Homer intentionally gains more than 60 lbs so that he can go on disability and work from home. Marge confronts him to debate the pros and cons of his scheme and admits that she is finding herself less attracted to Homer physically when he weighs over 300 lbs.

    • In the episode "Story for Steven," Marty seems to imply that Greg is into large women...though in this context it might mean "chubby" or "tall," since Rose Quartz is both.
    • Lars has ongoing Ship Tease with the chubby Sadie. "The New Lars" also shows that he fell asleep naked while looking at a magazine featuring a similarly-sized lady.
  • In Total Drama Island 2023, Chase tries to get back together with Emma, who is a bit pudgy, and succeeds near the end of Part 1... before she dumps him again in Part 2. Downplayed though in that it's never mentioned in-universe whether he's attracted to her because of her looks or not.

Elephant Peach

Bowser would be into Peach no matter what she looks like. Her gaining extra weight from an Elephant Fruit is just a nice bonus.

How well does it match the trope?
