Goldspire Academy is a D&D 5th edition campaign revolving around a group of transfer students from Osharia, following the collapse of the fascist Sylberos regime
Note: Wolfsbane Valley Trading Company denies any involvement with the events of this page
This Work Contains Examples Of:
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: The primary antagonists of the last D&D campaign were evangelical-esque religious zealots. This time, it’s demon cultists
- Dead Guy on Display: The Heretic hangs her mutilated victims in the main hall for all to see. Eventually she ends up there too
- Death Is Cheap: Thanks to the Plumtrees, most deaths that happen on campus can be undone
- Dysfunction Junction: Pretty much everyone at the school needs serious therapy
- Fan Disservice: The Heretic wears a very revealing Hot Witch outfit, but her body is eerily pale, emaciated, and covered in burns.
- Hate Sink:
- Alfric Juthuld, the sadistic enchantment teacher that torments his students constantly. He goes as far as to take away Cedar’s hearing aid during class, cast curses on his students as punishments, and even helps frame Klunk for sleeping with Sharmanya.
- Eugenia Faustinus is a condescending, greedy woman that only cares about herself and her company. She views the school and it’s students with thinly veiled distain. She only becomes more unlikable with the reveal she is plotting to destroy the school for insurance money
- Caleb Monsoon is a smug, elitist bully that gets away with everything because he’s Yates’s prodigy. He also ends up being a vicious, murderous sociopath
- Insurance Fraud: Ms. Faustinus plans to have the school destroyed by demons and collect the insurance money rather than continue following the contract to fund the school
- Plant Person: Alf, the little vine creature that translates sound to sign language to Cedar
- The Proud Elite: Professor Yates’s gifted class, made up of the highest achievers. They get advanced education, special treatment, and are held up on a pedestal to the rest of the students.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: Nazod Klunk is the red to Baldur Yates’s blue
- Ritual Magic: There is some sort of sinister ritual going on in the background
- Running Gag
- Anya accidentally breaking furniture
- “Walderfranz (verb)ed quietly”
- Cedar dying
- Save the Villain: Cedar and Yolora reluctantly decide to stop Yates from killing Juthuld to prevent him from getting a sixth soul
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: The collapse of the Sylberos regime at the end of the last D&D campaign did not solve all of Osharia’s problems. They are still poverty stricken, overrun with monsters, and now have a massive power vacuum.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Poor Cedar
- Her head is blown off during Professor Banzoft’s potions lessons
- During the Corpse Flower fight, she is torn apart by zombies and then brought back as one. She gets better
- Tone Shift: This campaign is much more small scale and character driven as opposed to the swashbuckling adventures of the previous campaign
- Your Soul Is Mine!: The Heretic has been stealing the souls of her victims for some kind of ritual
