  • Adventure Time:
    • Pendleton Ward's five favorite episodes are "Power Animal", "Too Young", "Gotcha!", "Shhh!" and "I Remember You".
    • Writer/storyboard artist Rebecca Sugar's favorite episode is "Freak City".
    • Storyboard revisionist Ian Jones-Quartey's favorite episode is "Dad's Dungeon".

  • Amphibia creator Matt Braly's favourite episode of the first season is "Toad Tax", while his favourite episode of the second season is "True Colors".
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender: Dante Basco (Zuko's VA) stated that "The Storm" is his favorite episode, thanks to the scene where Zuko faces his father in the Agni Kai, which allowed him to work with Mark Hamill for the first time. He even parallels the moment to the scene in The Empire Strikes Back where Luke Skywalker faces off with Darth Vader.
  • The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes head writer Christopher Yost called "Ultron Unlimited", "The Fall of Asgard", and "Who Do You Trust?" his favorite episodes.
  • Batman: The Animated Series:
  • "Blucik and Driba go to Mr. Smoothie" has been mentioned by Ben 10: Omniverse writers to be their favorite episode. Perhaps not uncoincidentally, this episode is loathed by the majority of the fans due to it being essentially a useless filler episode focusing on Blucik and Driba.
  • Matthew Géczy's favorite Code Lyoko episode is "Killer Music" because every character (sans XANA) is worried about Odd the whole time.
  • Danny Phantom: Butch Hartman said in a webcast that his five favorite episodes include "Fanning the Flames", "Maternal Instincts", "The Ultimate Enemy", and "Kindred Spirits". The fifth? "Phantom Planet", which is so disliked by parts of the fanbase (alongside the season it aired in), that it isn't uncommon to see Fanon Discontinuity.
  • Mike Jupp stated his favorite episodes of The Dreamstone to be "Robobird" and "Urpgor's Auntie", having provided gags and storyboards for them.
  • The Ed, Edd n Eddy special "Boo Haw Haw" is creator Danny Antonucci's favorite. He also likes the episode "If It Smells Like An Ed". Ironically, both episodes are some of the most polarizing with fans due to their Downer Endings and being some of the few times the Eds' suffering didn't feel justified. "If It Smells Like An Ed" in particular is often singled out as being one of the show's worst episodes.
  • At 50:55 in this podcast, Elena of Avalor writer Tom Rogers mentions that the favorite episodes that he's written are "Spirit Monkey Business", "Royal Rivalry", "Finding Zuzo", and "Snow Place Like Home".
  • The Fairly OddParents!: The VHS/DVD release Timmy's Top Wishes featured five favorite episodes of creator Butch Hartman; they are "Knighty Knight", "Where's Wanda?", "Power Pals!", "Who's Your Daddy?" and "Boys in the Band".

  • Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: Sean Marquette cites "Partying is Such Sweet Soiree" as his favorite episode, specifying that he really enjoyed getting to perform the role of Mac as a screaming maniac running around off a sugar high.
  • Billy West has stated on Twitter that his favorite episode of Futurama is "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings".
  • Gravity Falls:
    • Alex Hirsch cites "Sock Opera" because it has the exact blend of horror, humor and heart he wanted the series to have. He's also stated that "Not What He Seems" and "The Time Traveler's Pig" are also among his favorites; the former due to being proud that the crew was able to make a dramatic story work so well given the show's usual comedic tone, and latter for being the first episode where he started feeling confident that the show was working out.
    • While not a favourite episode, Season One's creative director Michael Rianda cites Stan’s hilariously dark monologue about life in "Bottomless Pit!" as his favourite scene from his time on the show.
  • Grojband: Todd Kauffman has called "Smash Up Terby" his favorite episode to make.
  • Gargoyles: Greg Weisman has stated that he has many favorite episodes, but "The Mirror" stands out as his most favorite.

  • Maxwell Atoms was asked on Reddit what his favorite episode of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy was, he replied "The one with the chickens." He is referring to the episode "Which Came First?"
  • There was a series of video cassettes called Hanna-Barbera Personal Favorites, where Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera introduced their favorite episodes of several of their shows.
    • Their favorite episodes of The Flintstones were "The Split Personality", "The Dress Rehearsal", "Ann-Margrock Presents", and "The Stonefinger Caper".
    • Their favorite episodes of Jonny Quest were "Skull and Double Crossbones", "Calcutta Adventure", "The Robot Spy", and "The Devil's Tower".

  • Invader Zim:
    • Jhonen Vasquez has stated that his favorite episodes are "Bolognius Maximus", "Game Slave 2" and "Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars".
    • In regards to Zim's voice actor, Richard Steven Horvitz, his favorite line of dialogue he's recorded comes from "Rise of the Zitboy".

  • Johnny Bravo: Van Partible has hinted that "Bravo-Dooby Doo" was his favorite episode due to the episode premise being one of his first ideas once he was got started on the first season since he's a huge Scooby-Doo fan, as well as the fun behind the production. Throughout his time working on the show, his favorite moment in the recording booth was directing Casey Kasem as Shaggy.

  • The Loud House: Chris Savino said his favorite episode is "For Bros About to Rock".
  • Molly of Denali: Sovereign Bill's (Molly's voice actress) favorite episode is "Grandpa's Drum."
  • Pepper Ann: Sue Rose said that her favorite episode is "Dances with Ignorance" because of how they were allowed to have Pepper Ann act out and commit terribly offensive mistakes against a Navajo family, but still learn and redeem herself by the end.
  • Craig McCracken has stated that his Top 10 favorite episodes of The Powerpuff Girls (1998) are: "Mime for a Change", "Monkey See, Doggie Do", "Meet the Beat-Alls", "Twisted Sister", "Uh-Oh Dynamo", "Boogie Frights", "The Powerpuff Girls' Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever", "The Rowdyruff Boys", "Beat Your Greens", and "Bubblevicious".
  • Ready Jet Go!: In one interview, science and consultant and interstitial host Amy Mainzer also mentioned her favorite episode is "the one that focused on black holes" ("Detective Mindy"). Meanwhile, Craig Bartlett likes "Tiny Blue Dot" because of its beautiful and personal message.
  • Regular Show creator JG Quintel named "The Power", "TGI Tuesday", "Terror Tales of the Park", "The Last Laserdisc Player", "A Bunch of Full Grown Geese", "The Thanksgiving Special", "Exit 9B", "The Christmas Special", "Eggscellent" and "Skips' Story" as his top 10 favourite episodes.
  • Rick and Morty: Dan Harmon listed "Pickle Rick" and "The Ricklantis Mixup" as his favorite episodes of Season 3 and is thrilled that those were the ones with the best reception among the public.
  • Rocko's Modern Life. Joe Murray has listed a few episodes as his favourites:
    • "I Have No Son" (the episode where Rocko and Filburt try to reunite Ed and Bev Bighead with their estranged son) and "Wacky Delly" (the episode where Rocko, Heffer, and Filburt create an animated series that Ralph Bighead hopes will get him out of his contract), and not because he did the voice of Ralph Bighead, but rather how true to life they are in regards to the animation industry; particularly how "Wacky Delly" satirizes contractual obligations with studios and networks.
    • "Zanzibar" was an idea proposed for a musical episode that Joe was willing to participate in, but the only condition he had was that Rocko could not sing at all - hence the plot detail that Rocko somehow missed all of the rehearsals for the impromptu musical numbers.
    • "Fatal Contraption" because it was a throw-back to Joe's earlier work in animation before Rocko, in which many of his cartoons lacked any dialogue.
    • "Who's for Dinner?", because of the mature way they handled Heffer learning of, and dealing with, the fact that he's adopted.
    • "Jet Scream", because of how it reminded him of the times he traveled by plane to Korea and back to check on the animation during the show's first season.
    • Carlos Alazraqui said "Rocko's Modern Christmas! (aka Can't Squeeze Cheer from a Cheese Log!)" is his favorite, while "Nothing to Sneeze At" is Charlie Adler's favorite episode.
  • Rugrats (1991):
    • According to the series' 10th anniversary special, Elizabeth Daily has stated that her favorite episode of the series is "Naked Tommy".
    • Within the same special, Gabor Csupo, one of the series' creators, has stated "Chuckie Vs. The Potty" as one of his favorite episodes.
    • Kath Soucie has stated in the same special that her favorite episode is "I Remember Melville", due to how touching the episode's subject is note .

  • Ben Hurst's favourite episode of Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) was the Season Finale "Doomsday", closely followed by the Two-Part Episode "Blast to the Past".
  • The VHS releases of South Park feature segments before each episode in which Trey Parker and Matt Stone discuss it, always prefacing it by saying it's their favorite episode, no matter which one they're discussing.
    • There's an actual DVD collection of their top ten favorite episodes (at least, made up until that point); notably, there are no episodes from the first three seasons, which they consider inferior. If they extend it to fifteen, "Not Without My Anus" makes the cut, though. (Matt Stone admits that fans hating it only makes him like it more.)
  • SpongeBob SquarePants:
    • Tom Kenny's (SpongeBob) favorite is "Band Geeks" (a fan-favorite), while Bill Fagerbakke's (Patrick) is "Help Wanted".
    • In a Reddit AMA, Clancy Brown's (Mr. Krabs) named "Band Geeks", "My Pretty Seahorse", "Krab Borg", and "Hooky" as some of his favorites.
  • Creator Daron Nefcy's five favourite episodes of Star vs. the Forces of Evil are "Blood Moon Ball", "Mewberty", "Goblin Dogs", "Booth Buddies", and "Ludo in the Wild".
  • Superman: The Animated Series: "Mxyzpixelated" was one of the creators' favorites.
  • Tom Ruegger, creator of Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs stated his favorite episode of Tiny Toons was "The Anvil Chorus" and for Animaniacs he stated some of his favourites included "Hooked on a Ceiling" and "King Yakko".
  • Steven Universe:
    • Rebecca Sugar's favorite episodes are "Jail Break", "Mr. Greg", and "The Question". Her favorite song made for the show is "Love Like You".
    • Charlyne Yi's (Ruby) favorite episode is "The Answer."
    • Zack Callison's (Steven) is "Steven and the Stevens," unsurprising as it involves multiple Stevens shouting and playing off of each other.
    • Grace Rolek's (Connie) is "Open Book."
    • AJ Michalka's (Stevonnie) is "Alone Together."
    • Jennifer Paz's (Lapis) is "Ocean Gem."
    • Shelby Rabara's (Peridot) is "Too Short To Ride."
    • Estelle's (Garnet) is "Cat Fingers."
  • Genndy Tartakovsky said that Chapter 13 of Star Wars: Clone Wars was his favorite because it showed Mace Windu fight against Super Battle Droids.
    • His favorite Samurai Jack episode is "Jack and the Three Blind Archers".
  • Joe Barbera's favourite Tom and Jerry cartoons were The Cat Concerto and Johann Mouse.
  • What If…? (2021): Showrunner A.C. Bradley and director Bryan Andrews consider "What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?" to be their favorite episodes. Jeffrey Wright, the voice of Uatu the Watcher, even listed the episode as one of his favorites.
  • X-Men: The Animated Series: During an interview done by Doug Walker as The Nostalgia Critic, Julia Lewald (one of the writers) stated that, among the episodes she personally worked on, her favorites were "Days of Future Past, Part 1" and "Beauty and the Beast". Eric Lewald (showrunner) said that his favorite episode was "One Man’s Worth".
