Go To

A bed ridden Dolly entertains herself by watching the neighbors through Dylan's telescope and starts thinking that Clarissa killed her human.

This episode features examples of:

  • A Bloody Mess: While investigating Clarissa's house, Dylan mistakes a puddle of ketchup dripping from an overturned bottle in the fridge for blood.
  • Brain Bleach: Dylan's reaction to seeing Clarissa playing with her Hugo mock up.
Dylan: Oh, I can't unsee that!
  • Call-Back: Diesel's sleep digging from "The Nose Job" returns, which gives Dolly the idea of using him to look for buried evidence in Clarissa's yard.
  • Cone of Shame: Dolly wears one due to her broken leg. It messes things up for her later when she accidentally drops her torch into it and breaks it in her struggle to get it out.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: Dylan covers Dorothy's ears when he thinks Dolly is talking crazy about Clarissa killing Hugo. Granted, Dorothy was sitting on Dylan's head, and it looked like she was sliding off, before Dylan holds her in place.
  • Injured Limb Episode: Dolly has a broken leg. Cue "Rear Window" Homage.
  • Jump Scare: Diesel with his digging causes several of them in this episode.
    • First, he scares Dolly by sleep digging out of the floor as she's watching Clarissa.
    • Dylan finds a bone in Clarissa's yard. Suddenly, Diesel pops out of the hole to eat it, startling Dylan (and the audience).
    • Dolly gets a taste of it again when he wakes her up by popping out of the floor wearing a mask at the end of the episode.
  • Light-Flicker Teleportation: Clarissa does this, moving from the end of the corridor to right in front of Dylan in three flickers. Then the scene cuts away to reveal the flickering was caused by Diesel chewing on the wiring.
  • Never Say "Die": Dolly thinks that something has "happened to" and "ended" Hugo. Later in the episode, when he thinks she's right, Dylan starts to say that Clarissa's a murderer, but cuts himself off before the last word.
  • "Psycho" Strings: These play when Dolly looks through the telescope and sees Clarissa glaring at her, and then multiple more times throughout the episode. They're later revealed to come from a pigeon.
  • "Rear Window" Homage: The plot of the episode, with Dolly as the protagonist and believing Clarissa killed Hugo.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: Dolly asks Dylan if she's ever let him down. When she sees his annoyed expression, she tells him not to answer that.
  • Stock Femur Bone: Dylan and Diesel find one when they're investigating Clarissa's garden. Considering Dolly's murder suspicions, Dylan finds it more unnerving than appetizing, at least until Diesel confirms it's not human.
  • Vertigo Effect: This happens when Dylan sees the Hugo mock up Clarissa made.
