Recap / 101 Dalmatian Street S1E20 "A Date with Destiny...Dallas, and Deja Vu"

Go To

Dylan gets overly protective of Triple-D when he fears the stunts they get up to in their ads may be too dangerous.

This episode features examples of:

  • Bubble Boy: Dylan is overprotective of the Triple D sisters to such an absurd degree that Dolly claims that he'd bubble wrap everyone if he could. On cue, Dawkins walks in and reveals that Dylan actually commissioned a "Puppy Bubble Wrapper," a gun that shoots bubble wrap balls that trap people inside and bounce them around. Later gets bricked as Dylan uses it to save Dallas and himself from falling to death in a plane stunt, sending him bouncing around the city.
  • Bubble Gun: The aforementioned "Puppy Bubble Wrapper."
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Triple-D find Dylan's Safety Worst antics to be a sibling version of this.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: As the nervous Triple-D prepare to jump out the plane, a fart sound is heard and Déjà Vu apologizes and says she's not fully helicopter trained, which is followed by her sisters sniffing her and giving her disgusted looks.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The bubble wrap gun Dylan has Dawkins make as part of his safety-mania comes in handy in the climax to save him and Dallas from falling to their deaths when the latter's parachute fails and the former hides in Hunter's parachute bag.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Triple-D, as they deal with Dylan's new found concern for their safety and the increasingly dangerous stunts they have to do to get more views.
  • Evil Laugh: Hunter does one at the end of the episode after tasking Cuddles with finding out where the Dalmatians live.
  • Gelatinous Encasement: Hunter repeatedly tries to get a hair off the Triple D, and repeatedly gets trapped in jello.
  • Hollywood Skydiving: Triple-D film an ad where they do this on Hunter's suggestion. It's actually so he can dive after them to get a sample of their fur.
  • Hyper-Destructive Bouncing Ball: During the skydiving scene, Dylan becomes one upon landing due to the bubble wrap ball he's inside.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: When Dolly mocks Dylan for taking Triple-D's safety overboard, she says he'd wrap everyone in bubble wrap if he could, which Dylan denies. Cue Dawkins showing up with the bubble wrap gun Dylan asked him to make.
  • Not the Fall That Kills You…: Hunter survives falling from a plane through a roof by landing in jello.
  • Safety Worst: Dylan pretty much immediately goes overboard with keeping Triple-D safe after he sees their wrestling related commercial, even though they didn't actually get hurt filming it. For example, he "bathes" them by filling the bathtub with toys and spraying them with water from a spray bottle.
  • Wham Episode: Hunter confirms the Dalmatians are related to Pongo and Perdita and now needs to find where they live to continue his plan.
