Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 18 A Right Royal Rumble

Go To

The puppies decide to take Clarissa down when she blocks their view of a visit from the royal corgis.

This episode features examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Dizzy and Dee Dee pronounce "carriage" as "cabbage," which Dylan accidentally says when assuring them that they shall see "The Royal Cabbage."
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: A less serious example, but Dylan isn't above begging Clarissa to stop blocking their view for the sake of the younger puppies.
  • Continuity Nod: Mr. Fuzzy and Lucy from "A Dog's Best Friend" can be seen in the crowd watching the royal visit.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Fergus chuckles about the Dalmatians being excited about the royal visit, but when the visit actually occurs at the end of the episode, he's positively giddy the royals saying "Hello" to him.
  • I Think You Broke Him: When Pearl is entranced by the sight of Apollo, Dolly asks her if she's broken.
  • I Will Show You X!: When Clarissa calls the Dalmatians' house an eyesore, Dolly replies, "I'll give you an eyesore..."
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After using her position to build a viewing platform that ruins the family's view, Clarissa ends up covered in ice cream, gets said platform destroyed, is called ruff-raff by the royal corgis, and is finally hosed off by Hugo.
  • Mobile Shrubbery: The puppies sneak their way past Clarissa's barricade and guard human by hiding under buckets (and a trashcan).
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: According to Pearl, Clarissa and her human, Hugo, have connections to Lord Nincompoop on the Camden Council. This explains why they're allowed to build a large "observation platform" which blocks the Dalmatian family's view of the royal carriage.
  • Won't Take "Yes" for an Answer: When Dylan declares he's with Dolly's attempts to fight Clarissa, she originally thinks he is gonna try to stop her.

Even the Royal Corgis are impressed by Dolly's skateboard.
