Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 16 My Fair Dolly

Go To

Angered by Clarissa's disparaging comments about Dalmatians, Dolly decides to participate in the Pooch Petiquette Cup to show her up.

This episode features examples of:

  • Acquired Situational Narcissism: Dolly gets this when she gets a human, to the point of calling her siblings ruff-raff.
  • Beauty Contest: The premise of the episode is Dolly entering the Pooch Petiquette Cup, a canine equivalent of this trope.
  • Becoming the Mask: This almost happens to Dolly, despite the other Dalmatians trying to tell her to snap out of it throughout the episode. She only does so after seeing Dizzy and Dee Dee act posh (going as far as to try and find humans to become pets, much like how she did it herself).
  • Bishie Sparkle: Dolly gets these as she walks down the street after her makeover.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: After Dolly gets a dose of Acquired Situational Narcissism, she calls her siblings "ruff-raff" like Clarissa does.
  • Butt Biter: Dolly does this to one of the Pooch Petiquette Cup judges while running away from the contest.
  • I Was Named "My Name": Averted. The human Dolly gets to take her to the Pooch Petiquette Cup thinks she looks like a Camilla.
  • Hair Flip: Dolly tries to do this with her ears after her makeover, but they slap in her face and cause her to fall down the stairs.
  • Hard-Work Montage: Dolly gets one courtesy of Dawkins and the Triple-D to learn manners for the Pooch Petiquette Cup. These manners start to get in the way of her family, however.
  • Mailman vs. Dog: Dawkins's list of what isn't allowed in the Pooch Petiquette Cup includes attacking postmen.
  • Makeover Montage: Lampshaded and name checked when Dolly decides to get a makeover for the Pooch Petiquette Cup.
    Dolly: Cue makeover montage!
    Triple-D: You called?
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Dolly has this reaction when she sees Dizzy and Dee Dee make Dorothy cry by imitating her.
  • Twitchy Eye: Clarissa gets one when the puppies playing in the background disturbs her teatime with her friends and their humans.
  • You Are the New Trend: When Dolly plays in the mud with her siblings at the end of the episode, the other pageant dogs decide that petiquette is "so last week" and that mud baths are the new thing, to Clarissa's chagrin.
