Recap / One Hundred And One Dalmatian Street S 1 E 1 A Dogs Best Friend

Go To

Dee Dee and Dizzy decide to get Dylan a pet human after seeing how stressed out he is.

This episode features examples of:

  • Early-Bird Cameo: Hunter can be seen as one of the humans which Dizzy and Dee Dee look at whilst pet searching.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Dylan gets the idea to set Mr. Fuzzy up with the vendor after Doug says that he has to let him go, "even if it breaks [his] heart."
  • First Pet Story: Species-inverted. Dylan "adopts" Mr. Fuzzy despite his stepdad's misgivings, but has to let him go in the end due to not being able to handle his klutziness.
  • Imagine Spot: The episode starts with one, with Dylan imagining himself as a space marine while cleaning up his siblings' messes.
  • Love at First Sight: Or rather, second sight. This is Mr. Fuzzy's reaction when he sees the vendor in the park, the woman who earlier rejected him on the show's Tinder equivalent. The same thing happens to the vendor when she sees him later in the episode.
  • Musical Slapstick Montage: When the puppies try to train Mr. Fuzzy to do their chores.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • When Doug arrives home, he is covered in soot, and the puppies who glomp him get covered in soot, too. This calls to mind how the Dalmatians disguise themselves as labradors by covering themselves in soot in 101 Dalmatians.
    • Matchmaking appears to run in the Dalmatian family.
  • We Are as Mayflies: One of the things Doug discusses with Dylan about having a human is how they can live for hundreds of dog years, which is multiple dog generations.
