The Hatzgang

Tropes about all three of them
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hatz.png
L-to-R: Ross, Roy, and Robert

A trio of delinquents whose fondness for hats is rivaled only by their joy for shoplifting from the Candy Club, and (at least in the beginning of the series) bullying Skid and Pump.

  • Big Brother Instinct: In "Tender Treats", the Hatzgang are ready to rob the Candy Club blind, but Robert reveals that it's for the sake of his sister, who's seriously ill and he promised to bring some candy back for. When Skid and Pump come by, he kindly asks if he could have some of their candy and clearly explains that he wants to give it to his sister, and they gladly do so. Even after they're robbed by Bob, Roy sacrifices all the candy that Carmen bought for him to give it to Robert and Ross, so that Robert's sister doesn't go without candy.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: A rare male example. Robert is the blonde, being the most affable of the three, Ross is the brunette, being the most sensible and realistic of the trio, and Roy is the redhead, being the most impulsive and short-tempered of the Hatzgang.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: They all usually have big wide smiles on their faces, Roy and especially Robert in particular.
  • Consistent Clothing Style: Their cold weather clothing that they wear in "Deadly Smiles" is slightly different than their usual attire; for example, Roy and Robert have different hats, but they don't deviate too much.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: By the time of "Hollow Sorrows", Ross and Robert have grown tired of Roy constantly bullying Skid and Pump. They both try their hardest to restrain him, and when Roy ends up successfully beating up Skid and Pump after they apologize to him, Ross angrily punches him in the shoulder.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • In "The Stars", when Roy mentions what his Creepy Uncle did with him in the house on the hill after tricking Skid and Pump into going there, Ross and Robert both look concerned and take a step away from him, followed with letting him know that what happened was not okay offscreen, much to Roy's confusion, who asks, "What do you mean it's wrong?!"
    • In "Deadly Smiles," both Ross and Robert immediately object when Roy demands Skid's and Pump's clothes in exchange for their Happy Fella. Roy has to clarify that he meant their sweaters.
    • In "Tender Treats", Ross immediately pulls Roy away when he attempts to extort Skid and Pump for their candy, while Robert politely requests their help, which shows that they're no longer accomplices to Roy's bullying of the younger boys.
  • Face of a Thug: Robert and Ross retain menacing, condescending looks on their faces even as they become less antagonistic to Skid and Pump.
  • Gang of Bullies: The Hatzgang are a Terrible Trio of teenagers with a fondness for hats and bullying Skid and Pump, first seen spitting in their faces and hitting them over the head before tricking them into walking inside a haunted and dangerous mansion. This is Played With as the series goes on, with Roy becoming the only one to actively harass the two, and Ross and Robert either not participating but letting him do so or trying to talk him out of it.
  • Heel–Face Turn: By the time of "Tender Treats", Robert and Ross don't seem interested in antagonizing Skid and Pump anymore. When Roy tries to go back to his old tactics, Ross holds him back, while Robert politely asks if he could have some candy to give to his ill sister, with the two gladly fulfilling his request.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Ross and Robert soon show softer sides to themselves, with Robert in particular being a doting big brother to his little sister, and the two of them eventually treat Skid and Pump much more respectfully, while trying to force Roy to act likewise. Even Roy, despite him still attempting to harass Skid and Pump, deeply cares for Ross and Robert, to the point of giving up all his Halloween candy to make Robert's sister happy.
  • Karma Houdini: In "Unwanted Guest", they beat up Skid and Pump and stuff Skid inside the Happy Fella box and Pump inside its clothes, and get away with it.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: In "The Stars", they trick the duo into walking up to a creepy mansion for who-knows-what to happen to them. They get their comeuppance when Skid and Pump introduce their new friend, The Eyes of the Universe, promptly breaking their minds. Roy also mentions he got punished in relation to the whole thing in "Unwanted Guest".
  • Leitmotif: Starting in "Deadly Smiles" they have "Hatzgang", a shifty sounding tune with lots of finger snapping. "Tender Treats" introduces a more Halloween-y variant called "Horrorgang", which is whimsically eerie.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: After Ross and Robert's Heel–Face Turn, Robert is the Nice, politely asking Skid and Pump for their candy to give to his ill sister, Roy is the Mean, trying to continue his bullying, and Ross is the In-Between, being more preoccupied with stopping Roy when he tries to bully Skid and Pump.
  • Perpetual Smiler: The three's default expressions are smiles, with Roy and Robert having large grins and Ross having a v-shaped smirk.
  • Theme Naming: The bullies' names all begin with "Ro". Subverted later, as "Tender Treats" reveals that "Roy" is just a nickname, and his name is actually Reynold.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: With each subsequent appearance, Ross and Robert are increasingly less antagonistic towards Skid and Pump. By "Tender Treats", Ross actually decides to stop Roy the moment it looks like he wants to harass the duo again, while Robert talks to them rather affably and politely requests their help. It remains to be seen whether Roy will follow suit in the next episode(s).
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Implied with Ross and Robert when it comes to Roy, where Roy is far more venomous and hateful with his bullying, while the others giddily go along with doing a quick Spooky Dance and happily talk about the Happy Fella. "Deadly Smiles" further demonstrates this by having Roy being the one doing the actual bullying, with Ross and Robert voicing their objections. Eventually, in "Tender Treats", Ross is actively keeping Roy from continuing his bullying, with Robert kindly asking Skid and Pump if they could have their candy for his sister.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Despite being young teens, Ross and Robert have rather deep and mature sounding voices, though Roy has a high-pitched voice.

    Reynold "Roy"

"I can't believe I got in trouble thanks to two stupid, weird kids!"

Roy is the de facto leader of the Hatzgang. He's the boy with the striped sweater and ballcap, and is also the only son of Carmen and Richard, two of the richest people in town.

  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: He's the Redhead to Rob's Blonde and Ross's Brunette.
  • Demonic Possession: In the episode "Hollow Sorrows" he's briefly possessed by Moloch, then exorcised by Father Gregor.
  • Hereditary Hairstyle: like his mother Carmen, Roy has reddish wavy hair.
  • Embarrassing First Name: "Tender Treats" reveals "Roy" to be short for "Reynold".
  • Freudian Excuse: When Roy tricks Skid and Pump into walking inside a dark, abandoned and far away mansion outside of town, he nonchalantly says "That's where my uncle takes me." to his friends. Ross and Robert get concerned looks on their faces and can only shift away from him in discomfort. If it isn't the perverted option, consider what lives under the manor and who regularly visits the place. We also get to see Roy's parents themselves in "Tender Treats", and his mom, Carmen, in particular, doesn't appear to have a warmer attitude than her son.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Mean one to Rob's Nice and Ross's In-Between.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Roy's parents are the only people who refer to him as his given name Reynold.
  • Pet the Dog: Roy gives all the candy his mother bought for him to Ross and Robert so they can give it to Robert's little sister.
  • Secretly Wealthy: Roy is primarily shown as just a common hoodlum who constantly resorts to stealing, not even wearing a costume when Ross and Robert do, but "Tender Treats" reveals that he comes from an aristocratic, upper-crust family, with his mom, Carmen, being incredibly snooty.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Roy inherited wavy, reddish hair and round-shaped face from his mother Carmen.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Although Ross and Robert went through a Heel–Face Turn and are no longer interested in bullying Skid and Pump, Roy still didn't move on from his bullying behavior and was going to antagonize the duo if it wasn't for Ross holding him back.

Ross is the boy with the dark blue sweater and beanie. He is the only son of Jaune, Lila's best friend, which is rather ironic given that he's not exactly on good terms with Lila's son, Skid.

  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: He's the Brunette to Rob's Blonde and Roy's Redhead.
  • Character Development: Early episodes of the series show him antagonizing kids alongside his friends without a second of thought. As time goes on, Ross has appeared to have dropped his bullying habits and goes as far as to stop Roy whenever he tries picking on Skid and Pump, even outright punching the him in "Hollow Sorrows" for assaulting the two despite them apologizing for their irritating behavior.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: Ross's head starts out as square-shaped and squat, but soon grows to be longer and rounder, and his mullet also grows in size.
  • Hereditary Hairstyle: Ross' hair points out to the sides in a very similar way to his mother Jaune's hair.
  • Implausible Hair Color: While Robert shares the same hair color as his siblings Radford and Robin, and Roy shares the same hair color as his mother Carmen, Ross has black hair, whereas his mother, Jaune, has blonde hair. Jaune's husband, Aaron, does have darker hair, though his is more brown than it is black.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The In-Between one to Roy's Mean and Rob's Nice.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: He and his mom, Jaune, are the only two characters in the series who have triangular mouths as opposed to the standard ovoid mouths everybody else has.
  • The Stoic: Of the Hatzgang, Ross is the only one who shows next to no outward emotion, with his actual emotions being shown more through body cues rather than his face or tone. It's a trait he seems to have taken from his father, Aaron.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Ross shares with Jaune's triangular mouth and high-pointed hair, while he inherited Aaron's shadowy eyes and calm, silent personality; as his design changed, his face shape slowly changed from his father's boxy one to his mother's rounder one.

    Robert

Robert is the boy with a green sweater and a backwards ballcap. Unlike his two companions, he is the third of four kids in his (thus far mostly unseen) family.

  • Alliterative Family: Robert's older siblings, Radford and Robin, also have names that start with the letter R. It can also be assumed that his younger sister shares this trait.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Robert adores his little sister and wants to cheer her up with Halloween candy when she's too sick for trick-or-treating, to the point of considering to rob the Candy Club once their own attempts at trick-or-treating fail to get them any candy.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: He's the Blonde to Roy's Redhead and Ross's Brunette.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Robert's default expression is a giant toothy grin.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Robert is just as oblivious as Skid and Pump are when it comes to the Dexter-possessed Happy Fella, believing it walking, laughing, and commenting on the situation to just be because it's a model of the toy he's (un)familiar with.
Roy: Why was this doll laughing?
    Ross: Why was it walking?
Robert: It walks and laughs? That's so freaking cool!
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Nice one to Ross's In-Between and Roy's Mean.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: The two physical attributes that Robert shares with his siblings seen thus far are blonde hair and a mole on his right cheek.

Roy's Family

    Roy's Uncle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_stranger.png
"Oh kids, you just got tricked... And now, it's time to get my treats..."
Voiced by: David "Sr. Pelo" Cazares

A very creepy man who lurks in the house on the hilltop. He is also Roy's uncle, currently with an unknown name.

  • All There in the Script: The character sheets for "The Stars" reveal he's Roy's uncle.
  • Ambiguously Related: It's never made clear if he's Roy's maternal or paternal uncle, though his resemblance to Richard implies the latter.
  • Asshole Victim: He gets accidentally crushed to death by the Eyes of the Universe. Given that he seems to be a sadistic pedophile who likely abused his own nephew, and is also implied to be affiliated with the evil cult based in the old house, his undignified demise isn't depicted as a tragedy.
  • Bald of Evil: Is the only character to be completely bald prior to the introduction of Father Gregor, and is heavily implied to have abused his own nephew and would have done the same to Skid and Pump had it not been for Eyes.
  • Continuity Cameo:
    • According to Pelo, he is one of the zombies in the morgue in "Unwanted Guest".
    • A photo of him appears on John's String Theory board in the Newgrounds ending of "Deadly Smiles", strings connecting him to both the house on the hill and the cult.
  • Creepy Uncle: He is Roy's uncle; while it's left vague what he's done to Roy specifically, Ross' and Robert's reactions when Roy mentions him, along with his predatory demeanor towards Skid and Pump, indicate that it wasn't anything pleasant.
  • The Dreaded: He is the only character in the series whom Skid and Pump instantly fear when they first meet him, for once recognizing a bad person when they see one.
  • Evil Uncle: Aside from the heavy implications that he's an incestual pedophile who's done nasty things to his own nephew, it's also implied that he may be a member or associate of the evil cult, which also operate from the same old mansion that he hangs out in.
  • Hate Sink: While the world of Spooky Month is full of scary people and monsters, most of them are either Affably Evil or played too comedically to take seriously. This guy on the other hand is implied to be a pedophile that constantly victimizes his nephew, and his one scene is devoid of any comedy.
  • Killed Off for Real: Is accidentally crushed to death by the Eyes of the Universe, and in a series filled with resurrections, ghosts, and characters generally being hard to kill, he stays dead and is never mentioned again. Not that he didn't deserve it.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Unlike Frank, the strangely friendly child kidnapper, and all of the different monsters of the series, this guy is played completely seriously, to the point where even Skid and Pump are terrified of him.
  • No Name Given: He's only ever referred to as "Roy's uncle" or "the stranger" (by Pump), with even the character sheets, which revealed the Hatzgang's then-unspoken names, leaving him unnamed.
  • Scary Shiny Glasses: Unlike other bespectacled characters such as Dexter or Radford, his glasses are always shined over, obscuring his eyes and making him look even creepier.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Immediately flees from the house after Skid and Pump get snatched by the Eyes of the Universe. You'll notice he's still running away from the house when the Eyes of the Universe bursts through and unknowingly steps on him.
  • Slasher Smile: He's seen with a very big and sinister grin when he eagerly approaches Skid and Pump to get his "treats".
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He isn't onscreen for more than half a minute before being unceremoniously killed by Eyes, but is the reason Skid and Pump meet Eyes in the first place. In addition, he's also implied to be part of the cult, and his abuse towards Roy is implied to contribute to why Roy acts the way he does.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He's strongly implied to be a child molester, if his sadistic smile and predatory gaze towards Skid and Pump (as well as what Roy vaguely alludes to his uncle doing) are any indication.

    Carmen and Richard
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4f447a6a_17f0_4777_bb7d_334f9fcabf30.png
"Get inside, Reynold! You shouldn't hang with plebeians, like these!"
Voiced by: Elsie Lovelock (Carmen), Smuggers (Richard)

Roy's rich parents. Neither of them are particularly nice people.

  • Abusive Parents: They're implied to be emotionally neglectful, if not outright emotionally abusive. Carmen has a very bossy attitude towards her son, to the point that she doesn't allow him to hang out with his best friends just because they're working-class "plebeians". Richard himself seems to be rather cold and aloof as a father. It's also unknown whether they ever knew, or even cared, that Roy was (presumably) sexually molested by his uncle. However, if this sketch by Sr. Pelo is anything to go by, they may have once actually been caring parents.
  • Cigar Chomper: As a way of showing how emotionally cold he is, Richard is always seen with a cigar in his mouth.
  • First-Name Basis: Rather than calling him Roy, both of them refer to him by his actual first name, Reynold.
  • Forbidden Friendship: They don't want Roy around Robert and Ross, not because they think they're bad influences on him, but because they see them as commoners.
  • Hated by All: Everybody who Carmen has come across shows nothing but disdain for her. One of the two kids she forces around her blows a raspberry at her, Kevin puts on a Grin of Rage at her dismissal of him, he and Rick become agitated at her selfish demands, and Roy takes advantage of her buying candy for him to give it all to Ross and Robert. In one of Sr. Pelo's sketches, Jaune seems to particularly despise her, as she's seen angrily ranting about Carmen to Lila, and when Carmen tells Jaune that she'd look better wearing a trash bag, Jaune puts on a Grin of Rage and is screaming internally.
  • Hereditary Hairstyle: Carmen shares with her son Roy same reddish, wavy hair.
  • I Didn't Mean to Turn You On: Carmen thinks that Kevin is flirting with her, despite there being no underlying connotations to what he's saying, and shoots him down.
Kevin: What would you like, ma'am?
    Carmen: Not you!
  • Jerkass Has a Point: It's implied that they punished Roy for bullying Skid and Pump following the events of "The Stars", which would be totally justified. However, this may just be because he was hanging out with Ross and Robert at the time.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Roy takes advantage of his parents allowing him to say goodbye to Robert and Ross by hitting them up with all the candy Carmen bought.
  • Leitmotif: Their introduction in "Tender Treats" comes with "Wealthy Elitez", a stereotypically upper-crust sounding song.
  • Meaningful Name: Carmen is a variation of the word "carmine", which is a shade of red, and Carmen has red hair and wears a red dress.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Carmen has a rather curvy figure, enough to draw Kevin's attention.
  • Pet the Dog: Though the two don't want Roy hanging out with Robert and Ross, they at least have the courtesy to let him say bye to them; furthermore, all the candy Carmen had bought earlier were for her son.
  • Punny Name: Richard, although Carmen is the more blatantly upper-crust of the two.
  • Rich Bitch: Carmen has a very aristocratic aura about her, and looks down on the citizens of her town as mere commoners. In particular, she forces Kevin to comply with her demands as fast as possible, forbids Roy from hanging out with Robert and Ross, and thinks Roy's "rapper" costume lacks elegance.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Instead of having Roy go trick-or-treating, Carmen's substitution is to go to the Candy Club and order him two of everything they have in their inventory.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Sr. Pelo's sketches seem to imply that Carmen is this to Jaune, as Jaune is seen drunkenly ranting to Lila about how awful Carmen is, and is also told by Carmen that she would look better wearing a trash bag, causing Jaune to be internally outraged.
  • Supermodel Strut: Carmen always walks about with her hands on her hips and sashaying them back and forth, denoting her aristocratic arrogance.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Carmen is very similar to Roy, from whom he inherited her red, wavy hair and round face shape.
  • Wealth's in a Name: Roy's wealthy and high-class father is named "Richard".

Ross' Family

"Liiiilaa!~"
Voiced by: Lizzie Freeman

Ross' mother, who is also Lila's best friend and coworker.

  • Ambiguously Bi: Though she's married to Aaron, she spends a majority of her time hanging out with Lila, and unabashedly calls her "hot stuff" over the phone in "Hollow Sorrows".
  • Ascended Extra: She only has a short amount of screen time in "Deadly Smiles", showing up with a new Happy Fella doll for Pump and inadvertently bringing Dexter back to life. In "Tender Treats", however, she's promoted to tritagonist, accompanying Lila in searching for Skid and Pump while Bob is on the loose.
  • Friend to All Children: While she has a child of her own, she is still very affectionate towards kids that she barely knows or are only remotely connected to her own circle, like Pump (who is her friend's son's friend). She's grown close enough to Pump to even offer to drive him home in "Hollow Sorrows" baby-talking to him as she picks him up.
  • Genki Girl: Her short screen time in "Deadly Smiles" establishes her as an energetic and kind person, having gone out to buy Pump his own Happy Fella and happily presenting it towards the end of the short.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Although she does have her faults, Jaune is shown to be a genuinely pleasant woman who goes as far as buying a toy for an unrelated child just because he happened to be best friends with her best friend's son.
  • Harmful to Minors: When she and Lila go to get wasted on spoiled milk, she actively encourages Skid and Pump to join in. Lila rightfully objects to this.
  • Hereditary Hairstyle: Ross' hair points out to the sides in a very similar way to his mother Jaune's hair.
  • Idiot Ball: She's normally able to recognize when something is a threat, such as when Dexter possesses the Happy Fella doll she bought for Pump and when Bob is homing in on her, Skid, Pump, and Lila, but when Lila calls her to say that Bob is getting ready to attack her, Jaune doesn't take what she says seriously, at first thinking Lila has a new boyfriend, then dismissing him as "just a weirdo".
  • Mama Bear: Downplayed because she hasn't had any onscreen interactions with her own son yet, but she shows a rather maternal protectiveness when she helps Lila search for Skid and Pump and escort them away from Bob. Afterwards, she asks John and Jack to help her find Ross to ensure that he's also safe and okay.
  • Meaningful Background Event: As Lila is calling her at the start of "Deadly Smiles" to discuss blueprint designs, Jaune is likely an architect like Lila is.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is "yellow" in French, her associated color.
  • Nice Girl: She's a good friend to Lila, even trying to help her out by generously buying a surprise gift for Lila's son's friend.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: She and her son, Ross, are the only two characters in the series who have triangular mouths as opposed to the standard ovoid mouths everybody else has.
  • Opposites Attract: She is a very cheerful and energetic woman married to Aaron, a silent man who shows little emotion.
  • Parents as People: While she's indubitably a kind woman, she doesn't seem to be very responsible with monitoring Ross, her son. She's never seen with him, and doesn't seem to be aware that he's one of Skid's and Pump's bullies along with Roy and Robert, especially since Skid is the son of her best friend. She does eventually show concern and decides to look for him at the end of "Tender Treats", but only after Skid, Pump, and Lila are returned home and Bob is defeated.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: She is the tomboyish, energic red Oni compared to Lila's feminine, calm blue Oni; this also applies to her husband Aaron, who is stoic and more relaxed.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Sr. Pelo's sketches seem to imply that she's this to Carmen, as she's seen drunkenly ranting to Lila about how awful Carmen is, and is also told by Carmen that she would look better wearing a trash bag, causing Jaune to be internally outraged.
  • Skewed Priorities: In "Tender Treats", when Lila orders her to come help find Skid and Pump before Bob does, Jaune is on board, but then immediately asks if she has a costume, which is cut off by Lila before she can finish asking. She also never considers if her own son Ross was ever in any peril from Bob (he was briefly) until after the cannibal is killed, and then she asks if John and Jack can help find her son.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Lila's girly girl. In contrast to how traditionally ladylike Lila acts, Jaune is much more spunky and often has the aura of a social butterfly. Best exemplified by their childhood Halloween photo: whereas Lila went as a witch, Jaune went as a cowgirl.
  • You Need to Get Laid: She seems to think Lila needs another man in her life considering she initally interprets her panicked phone call about Bob as her finding a new boyfriend.
Lila: There's a guy outside, and-
Jaune: Glad you're finally trying something new! You've gone so long without di-
    Lila: I'm being serious!

    Aaron
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_8961.png

Jaune's husband and Ross' father.

  • '80s Hair: He's got a very pronounced mullet.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: What Jaune's relationship with him appears to be. Whereas Jaune is a spunky Genki Girl, he appears to be a stone-faced, well-built Badass Biker.
  • All There in the Script: To a greater extent than most other characters, as he doesn't speak in his proper debut in "Hollow Sorrows". This led to the reveal of his name being relegated to appearing on his model sheet on the Spooky Month Patreon.
  • Badass Biker: Aside from his wedding photos, he's always seen wearing biker attire, including a leather jacket and a snake tattoo on his arm.
  • Designated Driver: When Lila and Jaune go out drinking, he serves as their chauffeur.
  • The Ghost: He has currently only appeared in some family photos in Jaune's house during "Tender Treats". Word of Godinvoked states that he's still married to Jaune, however, and is not a Disappeared Dad. As of "Hollow Sorrows", he's made his first appearance.
  • Henpecked Husband: Downplayed, but Jaune affectionally calling him "servant" implies that she wears the pants at times.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: They don't have a big height difference, but he's significantly stockier than his wife.
  • Like Father, Like Son: According to Sr. Pelo, Ross takes after his mother in appearance, but acts like his father.
  • Noodle Incident: Why he apparently owes Jaune one.
  • Opposites Attract: He is a silent man who shows little emotion married to Jaune, a very cheerful and energetic woman.
  • The Quiet One: Even after his debut in "Hollow Sorrows", he hasn't uttered a single line of dialogue.
  • Parents as People: Although not much can be said about him due to barely appearing in the series, the implication that Ross may get his bullying behavior from him implies that he isn't the best role model for his son. He's also likely not the worst either, given that Ross isn't as bad as Roy in that regard, and is the In-Between to the Hatzgang's Nice, Mean, and In-Between.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He is the relaxed and stoic blue Oni to his wife Jaune's energetic, cheerful red Oni.
  • The Stoic: Both of the photos he appears in show him with the same blank-faced expression, even during his wedding. When he finally appears on-screen, he's just as stone-faced as his photos, and doesn't even change his expression after seeing Father Gregor give Lila a "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
  • Unseen No More: He finally makes his first in-person appearance in "Hollow Sorrows" after many episodes of him just being The Ghost.

Robert's Family

    Radford
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/radford.png
"You know it's your turn to take the tickets, right?"
Voiced by: Brandon Winckler

Robert's older brother, an attendant at the local movie theater.

  • Alliterative Family: His siblings, Robert and Robin, also have names that start with the letter R. It can also be assumed that his younger sister shares this trait.
  • Establishing Character Moment: His first scene in the show has him expressively and frantically inform Rick that he's going to get in trouble for letting Skid and Pump into a horror movie, then gives a look of concern when Rick blankly takes his name tag off and states "I'm tired".
  • Keet: He's a rather energetic, fun-loving, and goofy young man.
  • Large Ham: When trying to explain the severity of Rick's situation, he has a massive freakout where he yells at the top of his lungs.
  • Lovable Nerd: Radford seems to be something of a film fan, judging from the way he geeks out at Father Gregor, presumably linking him to Badass Preacher characters, telling Kevin: "He even sounds like it does in the movies!" Then he blesses the candy shop with the holy water Gregor gave them making noises in an endearingly dorky way. That said, he's quick on his feet when faced with a possessed Kevin.
  • Meaningful Appearance: His glasses have a red lens and a blue lens, mimicking 3D glasses and referencing his job as a movie attendant. His poofy blonde hair also resembles a piece of popcorn.
  • Milking the Giant Cow: He tries to get his point across to Rick by flailing his arms around at rapid speed.
  • Nice Guy: He's a positive fellow who tries to cheer up Kevin upon noticing how frustrated he is at his job, and volunteers to help him on this shift. And when Skid and Pump want to give Kevin the money for all the free candy they pestered him for in the past, Radford offers them more free candy assuring Kevin that he'll pay for it.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Looks like an older version of Robert, down to having a mole in the same spot on his face. They also share this mole with their sister Robin.
  • Vague Age: He has another sister named Robin, although it's unclear whether he's older or younger than her.

    Robin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/db92466e_e4e7_420f_b5e0_4e5ab12e682b.png

Robert's older sister, seen watching a scary movie in the same theater that Skid, Pump, and the Happy Fella doll are in during "Deadly Smiles". Confirmed to be related to Robert by Sr. Peloinvoked.

  • Alliterative Family: Her siblings, Robert and Radford, also have names that start with the letter R. It can also be assumed that her younger sister shares this trait.
  • Cool Big Sis: From her facial expression, she seems to be rather laid-back.
  • Meaningful Background Event: Her first appearance is in a theater full of cameo characters, obfuscating her relation to Robert and Radford.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: She seems to be rather enjoying watching a horror movie.
  • Pants-Free: She's not seen wearing pants or leggings, with her kneecaps very clearly visible. From what's shown, she's not seen wearing a skirt on top, either.
  • Sleepyhead: Barely a few minutes into the horror movie, she's seen knocked out and drooling, hinted earlier by her half-closed eyes.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Much like Robert and Radford, she has poofy blonde hair and a mole in the same spot as them.
  • Vague Age: It's unclear whether she's older or younger than her brother Radford.
  • The Voiceless: She has no speaking role in her first and (so far) only appearance.
