It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Ask the Tropers:
openCreator category inconsistency
Question. This may not be worth bothering with, but wanted to bring it up. Normally, composers are grouped under the category “Music/“ followed by the name. For whatever reason, Johannes Brahms got created as “Creator/“ instead. The page is here: Johannes Brahms.
He did not create works in other media, either. If he had also been a poet or novelist, that might make more sense, but he wasn’t. Is there any reason that should be changed, or does it matter? And if yes, what should be done about it?
Thanks!
open Another Blanked Page
Characters.Friendship Is Magic Expanded Universe is now blank despite all the text being present when I tried editing it. I heard several other pages had this problem.
Anything to do to fix this? Or should I take to the bug reporting thread as this is an ongoing issue?
openListing works by the same creator
A question about sorting examples in trope pages: if we have entries from the same creator, should they actually be listed separately, or lumped under the author's name?
Example:
- CreatorName:
- Work A
- Work B
openPage needs clean up
The Fan Verse page is well... A mess. First it has a "fanworks" folder even though it's about fanfics to begin with, the description is rather ambiguous of the "may be this, may be that" kind, some examples are not even in the right folder, and I'm seriously questioning the validity of several of them.
openTheAmazingAI's Grammar Issues
I'm a little concerned about TheAmazingAI's grammar on display. They're relatively new to the site so they have very little edits under their belt, but they have been showing a lot of grammar issues in their posts on their TLP Draft. I even instructed them to use the Get Help With English thread, but they haven't followed up on making any edit requests there, only just merely dropping by. I think their lack of understanding of English in general is also causing miscommunications as well.
open"Reviewing" edits
About a month ago I posted a topic on Walkthrough Mode; it turned out that my edits were rife with it. Most the replies were really helpful.
Is it common practice to scrutinize my edits on ATT, or is there a dedicated forum thread for that? I ask because I messed around with other articles before my mistakes were brought up.
openIs it possible to directly download images from TV Tropes?
I was wondering if you could download images directly from TV Tropes so for example, if you find a image on the wiki you want to use as your forum avatar.
openMissing features on mobile?
Am I missing something, or can you not easily view page sources or the bulletin on mobile view?
openapparently broken image
Is the page image on The Daisy Chain failing to show up for anyone else? The uploader said it's working for them. I checked it in various browsers.
Edit: Reuploaded the image.
Edited by TwiddleropenGrammar changes Music
Auspicious She-wolf has been making unusual grammar related edits to the One-Hit Wonder page. Things like changing one adjective to another ("fairly" to "incredibly", "major" to "significant", "very hard" to "extremely challenging"), spelling out numbers, or changing dashes in a word (For instance, they change "one-hit wonder" to "one-hit-wonder"; Most instances of the term only use one dash, not two). I don't think any of those changes were especially necessary, least of all without any edit reason for why. I reverted their "one-hit wonder" to "one-hit-wonder" edit a few days ago, and they've just added it back along with these other grammar changes.
No edit reasons were left on either of their edits to this page. Any ideas what to do next? Are changes like this an issue?
EDIT: Looking through their edit history, they have a lot of similar edits.

I think I asked this at least once before, but forgot the answer:
Could I crop off the bottom of an image to remove a bug, or would that violate a rule?
openA troublesome Laconic page
I want to raise attention on Laconic. My Little Monster, which reads "The autist fell in love with a sociopath girl."
I don't think "autist" is a word that should appear on Laconic, because Ambiguous Disorder is not intended to diagnose fictional characters. My brief impression of the character sheet regarding the "sociopath" the laconic is referring to doesn't sound worthy of that term either.
However, I'm not familiar with that work. What should be done with it?
Edited by SamCurtopen Edit war: Spoony's Jew Wario video
There's an Edit War at Heartwarming. The Spoony Experiment regarding a video about Justin Carmichael's suicide made in 2013. Carmichael, as many may know, was posthumously accused of rape in 2018, and as such has become an extremely contentious figure on this wiki.
- April 20, 2018: The Fall Of El Dorado deleted the entry with no reason.
- June 24, 2020: Harley Quinn Is Great re-adds the example noting, "Entries were apparently deleted without edit reasons by a troper who later got banned because they kept deleting entries without discussion or any edit reasons. If anyone else wants these deleted for whatever reason, you should go to the ATT thread for discussion. If it is agreed that they should stay deleted, an edit reason should be left linking to the discussion."
- August 4, 2020: araneeb123 deletes the example (as well as an admittedly extremely contentious additional sub-bullet - have no idea who added that, but the next edit reason implies it was Harley) saying "let's not go there." Not sure if they discussed this first.
- September 14, 2020: Harley Quinn Is Great re-adds the example (though leaves out some of the contentious parts) with this reason: "People are allowed to mourn dead friends. I will admit though that mentioning the allegations was probably a bad decision in hindsight. Take this to the ATT thread if you still disagree with anything positive at all being said about Justin. Frankly though, I object to removal of such moments. Every person who did some good in their life deserves some recognition for it, regardless of later developments. Removal of anything positive said about them afterward is something I find to be just plain mean, regardless of the situation."
IDK if I agree with their sentiment (I think getting upset about people being "mean" to this guy is a bit odd, and if they were the ones who mentioned the allegations in a defensive tone that's very not good), but they're nevertheless edit warring over something that was repeatedly removed. And they did ask for it to be brought to ATT if it was worth discussing.
Note that Harley's had other issues like re-adding cut FamilyUnfriendlyAesop examples under different tropes, past edit warring (albeit over an inappropriate deletion), and circumventing a cut page by linking to its archive.
Edited by mightymewtronopenCan Trivia items go on a Creator page?
I removed a Trivia trope from a Creator page, since it belongs on the Trivia page. But somebody re-added it, saying that Trivia items can be on Creator pages too. Is that correct?
openNo Title
FanFic.Super RWBY Sisters (and all its subpages) was dewicked, cut, and recreated by wes27 with the cut request reason of "Too many mistakes, it can't be salvaged so it has to be cut". However, the previous version of the page contained very many examples, all of which appeared at a glance to be properly fleshed-out. (I admit I only looked closely enough to confirm that it wasn't plagued by naked tropes or "[character] is this".)
I asked about this on the discussion page when I noticed the cut request, but received no response.
Does anyone know what's going on with this?
Edited by wingedcatgirlopenWork-Specific Pages for Tropes
Obviously some works prefer to use specific tropes a lot. But I was browsing The Sociopath and saw that a separate RWBY page was made. I think rule of thumb is if there are a lot of specific examples that total to a long length, a separate page can be made. But RWBY has six, admittedly lengthy, examples. I'm not familiar with the work so I don't know if a separate page is warranted. Thoughts?
Edited by ShonenTrash98
i recently added this to Girls' Frontline: Assault Rifles:
and just to make sure i'm using this right i checked the trope in question, but found that it's really used for "percent of current HP", claiming that Fixed Damage Attack is for "percent of max HP" (which makes no sense to me, but anyway...)
i look on Fixed Damage Attack and find that there's no mention of percents anywhere (which does make sense), saying that it's based on exact damage numbers. so now i'm wondering if the former trope doesn't have the right definition or something, or if i'm misusing a trope here.
