Find a Trope:
openNumerous flying weapons Anime
Is there a trope page for those "special attacks/moves" which involve the user summoning numerous (as in, a dozen or more) flying weapons (typically swords) which the user can then control telekinetically for offense and defense?
I remember seeing this sort of special attack in anime and video games before.
Edited by VILEopenNeed help Finding Correct Trope Anime
I've recently begun reading the light novel and manga adaptation of Hybrid X Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia and I've also started working on the character page. But I need help finding a particular one for Reiri.
In the later volumes, she begins to use her military authority to give Kizuna days off so they can have sex. My question is: would that fall under Screw the Rules, I Make Them! (given that it's clear abuse of her authority), or is there a more fitting trope?
openUnwitting self-deprecation Anime
When someone puts down on something, especially some published fiction, as being trash, then realises they made it long ago.
openDistraction trope? Anime
Do we have this one?
The Big Bad (a Captain Ersatz of Janemba from Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn) sets up a disaster for the protagonists to deal with as a means to distract them, while he plans his next scheme so he's not distracted by them. The participants in the fake disaster use Kayfabe to convince the protagonists that it's a disaster and they need help.
Is there such a trope for this?

Checking before I make a TLP about this.
Is there a trope for when an anime such as Baccano! is dubbed into English, and it's deliberately dubbed into English in a version of English for the sake of comedy; it can't be Engrish can it, or Woolseyism?
For example, they dub Baccano! into English from Japanese, and the resulting English translation turns everything he says into comedy, same for Claire (Gender Bender Name in this case for Claire) and all the other characters, even though the original work wasn't a comedy per se?
I'm not talking about bad translations that happen by mistake, but deliberately mistranslating for the sake of comedy on a dub.
openAn artist with no imagination Anime
Is there a trope for an artist who is very skilled at drawing what they see (whether a real scene or someone else's drawing), but unable to imagine things any differently? More specific than Crippling Overspecialisation, that is.
Edited by ReymmaopenCosmic being / personality trope? Anime
Do we have this one for the tropes in this situation? (names changed for characters, but it's based on a now-gone work of mine from 2016 that never got on any fanfic/creative sites):
In a series focused on gods/cosmic beings, Bob is a god of time and keeps on trying to Soft Reboot / Continuity Reboot the main universe (our Earth) or Continuity Reboot an Alternate Universe within The Multiverse until he gets history to how he wants it.
John is a friendly god who's a Half-Human Hybrid and he's in charge of farming, the land and food, but has human morality (mostly) rather than Blue-and-Orange Morality, which makes him stand out from the other gods.
Alice, one of the other gods, acts like a The Stoner and says "Bob, stop spending so much time trying to fix the universes and just chill. There's plenty of time to fix things."
What tropes would fit Bob other than Set Right What Once Went Wrong, and for Alice, being dismissive of Bob's Determinator nature?
Is there a trope for John's morality?
Edited by Merseyuser1openBecomes stronger after defeat Anime
I'm looking for a trope which involves an antagonist character becoming stronger the more times they get defeated.
openBig Bad and comedy? Anime
Do we have this one?
In a Walking the Earth series, the Arc Villain for season 3 is killed by comedy (i.e. laughing about him, telling off-color jokes about him etc.) because he's that dark that comedy and anything sunny kills him. He's more than a Generic Doomsday Villain, and he has to get rid of anything humorous.
Apparently, in the villain's backstory, comedy became such a Berserk Button that the Big Bsd decided to try and get rid of it completely (due to some Noodle Incident involving comedy).
Is there a trope for this sort of villain who cannot tolerate comedy and actually gets killed by comedy, or is this TLP-worthy?
I looked at Comedy Tropes but aren't sure if there's one to fit this scenario.

So in Love Live Sunshine the girls get to ride a freight transporter monorail system that breaks and turns into an uncontrollable roller coaster as it accelerates down a hill.
And none of them sustains as much as a bruise apparently. At least they can all run after this.
Plot Armor ? Or something more specific?
openSooo Anime
Not actually sure if this is a troupe, but: a character who is either a tsundere or displays tsundere qualities having an older sibling whose either: a) possessive of their sibling (Think Makoto Teruhashi from "The Disastrous Life of Saiki K."), b) displays yandere-like qualities towards younger siblings (once again, Makoto Teruhashi from "The Disastrous Life of Saiki K."), and/or c) is a yandere and behaves that way about their sibling. I'm asking because it seems common for a tsundere/tsundere-like character to have a yandere/yadere-like sibling?? I know it's mostly played for laughs, but it's been bugging me. Is this a actual troupe, or is it simply a favored combo of various troupes?
openIncreasing circulating rumors Anime
Do we have a trope for strange rumors in general, especially when they start to increase in number and/or outlandishness? The example I have in mind is for a manga set on a backwater island which already has a number of old rumors about its local legends. At one point some devils come to the island and the rumor mill around town starts increasing several times over, with one rumor being that a devil is the source of all the rumors. Sure enough, when his power is broken, a lot of the new rumors disappear.
openHands going up and down Anime

I noticed that Iida from BNHA and always karate chops the air and the tall black and white cat from Fairy Tail always move their hands up and down. I was wondering if this was a trope and if there are any characters that do this.
openDespair, lean back, power up Anime
I recognize the trope that this page of Apricot Cookie(s)! is making fun of, but I don't know what it's called or how else to describe it.

I'm still working on the Hybrid X Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia page and need clarification on the The Mirror Shows Your True Self trope.
According to the description, it seems to be strictly about mirrors only, but I've seen variants where magic caves and astral projection also reveal the true self. Hybrid x Heart's take on it uses the "Love Room" (their version of a holodeck) to reveal each girl's inner kink.
So my question is: Does The Mirror Shows Your True Self allow for such variations, or is there another trope like it that does?
