If she liked both Lyrical Nanoha and G Gundam, it's probably worth giving Symphogear a shot. It's a fighty magical girl show where the transformations are very mecha-styled, and also they're idols because why not. Absolutely shameless over-the-top nonsense. I would warn you that it's really fanservice-heavy, though, so keep that in mind.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Whoop- forgot to include Cowboy Bebop (which was one of the few that we actually liked enough to hunt down physical copies of), and we did try Death Note, but kind of stalled out on "I will take this potato chip... AND EAT IT!!" scene >.>
May give Symphogears a shot, could be interesting. Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming
In that case, I'd like to make two more suggestions. You can try Samurai Champloo (same scriptwriter and director as Cowboy Bebop) and the first season of Darker Than Black (another action show).
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it fromApparently we've watched more anime than I remembered at first. We did watch Darker than Black and enjoyed it, and we tried Samurai Champloo, but just couldn't get into it for whatever reason.
Suggestions are still appreciated, though. Thanks!
Since it's out of nowhere 2nd season has been announced, I recommend 'The Devil is a Part Timer' as it is quite hysterical, it also has a magnificent dub that has some truly hilarious lines in it.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.Don't know if anyone has recommended The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World. It's a new monthly manga that is an Affectionate Parody of the toku genre in an isekai setting.
The plot begins with our hero, Ranger Red, taking down the Big Bad and apparently dying in the ensuing explosion. But instead of dying, he falls into a fantasy world and hits his head. Six months later, he's an up-and-coming adventurer who barges his way into the life of Impoverished Patrician Idola Avorn, who is looking for a bodyguard to help her with her research. He proceeds to baffle her with his sentai and Stock Shōnen Hero antics, and it's largely light-hearted fare pulling Lampshade Hanging on every part of both settings while taking them seriously enough for a central plot to develop.
It makes me laugh harder than any manga did in recent memory, the art is clean and crisp, and the ham and goofy sentai antics are just joyful. The author clearly loves what he's writing and I honestly wish it'd make a western release so I could support it.
It's currently getting a fan translation by LH Translations, so I highly recommend checking it out.

Has a page been made for the Light Novel ore ga inmajutsu de dorei harem wo tsukuru hanashi?
Probably not and with a title like that they probably never should.
If you like both dragons and Manga translated by Seven Seas Entertainment, then you should give both Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Dragon Goes House Hunting a try. The former is about a female dragon named Tohru, who after the titular Kobayashi saves her life, becomes a maid to pay the latter back for her good deed. While the latter is about a male dragon named Letty who teams up with an elf named Dearia to find himself his own home, after being kicked out by his parents.

What are the Japanese abbreviations of the previously mentioned LN, and of the Manga "Mom, please don't come adventuring with me!"?
Update: the latter series (Bōken ni tsuite konaide okāsan!) is, according to the writer in person, shortened to Mom Dragon; anyone who wants to can create a page for it.

I finished the original Gundam and Char's Counterattack. They haven't aged well and the characters were very forgettable. I did find its age had a lot of charm so I want to find more anime from before I was born (1992). Hopefully something I can find legally.
Recommending Godzilla: Singular Point for G-fans and others. It can be hard to follow due to being very scientific-based but it is a good show and filled with great myth gags of the franchise
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."What manga from 2020 or 2021 would y'all recommend?
I hear the manga of The Saga of Darren Shan (a.k.a. Cirque du Freak) have new editions in North America (Yen Press). I highly recommend those. They're based on an Irish novel series that's more popular in Japan than anywhere else. It was as popular as Harry Potter here back when they were first coming out.
The manga artist went on to do an original series called AR∀GO: City of London Police's Special Crimes Investigator, a manga adaptation of Les Miserables, and the Conan spinoff Zero's Tea Time, which is getting an anime.

Is there somewhere that I can ask about whether I should watch the shows on my backlog either subbed or dubbed?
Are there any anime that don't fall into common trappings of the light novel/harem/shonen genre?
Anything that isn't too much like My Hero Academia, One Punch Man, or Jojo?
Less absurd, over the top reactions, nose bleeds, and shameless perversion? The closest I can think of are Studio Ghibli films, Basilisk, Kazekage Ran, Big O, Gungrave, and Akira - are what I'm looking for.
I like expression but no teenagers wigging out about breasts or allies ruthlessly beating each other up.
Much as I liked Kill la Kill I'd like something on that level of budget but with less silliness.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).There's plenty if you know where to look. Cowboy Bebop, Legend of Galactic Heroes, Armored Trooper VOTOMS, Perfect Blue, etc. Most of those shows or movies don't get as much recognition, so they're harder to find. But they're all as far away from stuff like Jojo or MHA as you can get.
But if you want something more recent, Megalo Box and To Your Eternity are pretty good too.
EDIT: Apropos of nothing, but what's Kazakage Ran? Tried looking it up, but I can't find anything about it anywhere.

Sorry for the obvious question, but I’m looking for recommendations for which Lupin III adaptations to watch. I really loved Castle of Cagliostro, and while I know it’s seen as kind of an outlier, I’d really like to see more in the same vein of more lighthearted incarnations of the series.
The campiness and silliness is part of the fun and I totally embrace it, but I’m less fond of interpretations that are too, uh… darkly sexual.
Does anybody have advice?
I thought Lupin III: The First was good, although it was CGI.
Parts 4, 5, and currently ongoing 6 are worth checking out. Though I think Part 6 is rather weak, but it still has its moments. Episode 10 in particular, admittedly because it's more Oshii than Lupin.

Okay so since One-Punch Man updates at the pace of a glacier (Not that I'm complaining, art that good needs the extra time) I was wondering if anyone can name other superhero manga like it.
By which I mean... Like, the very specific scenario of "town gets randomly attacked by monsters fairly commonly and a rotating cast of supers fight them off in epic fashion." Obviously there's MHA, which is good but a little stock shonen. There was Gamma which fit the bill perfectly but I finished it and Superwomen in Love! which I'm currently reading... Huh. Both of those are Yuri Genre.
Any others? There's gotta be, considering how big OPM and MHA are but all the usual Manga info sites don't really have a superhero category to browse. Bonus points for having Kamen Rider parodies and/or a pointless hero ranking system.
any mangas about space, magic and fantasy?
I do know an anime that hits all 3 of those things: Star★Twinkle Pretty Cure.
For manga specifically, I have no idea.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.
I notice the list doesn't have Death Note (serviceable dub) and Cowboy Bebop (probably the best dub in existence). The former is Shounen but atypical of the genre, and the latter isn't a Shounen, but is action-oriented. Might give you some more options to branch out.
If I knew how I know everything I know, I'd only be able to know half as much because my brain would be clogged up with where I know it from
