During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. " to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Yeah, that quote's very...blah. :/
Twenty-seven...twenty-eight—goddamn this series has a bunch of CMs in it.
I suppose for Dr. Galen Filth / Pendleton Snipe since it's its own continuity.
Also 10,000 pages up in this biznitch.
-explodes confetti poppers everywhere-
I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.& Well, it's preceded by this:
"So that’s where I am now. Left in pain as I cry myself to sleep. It isn’t the first time and it likely won’t be the last. Brigit is no mother. She’s a monster. A demon wrapped in an angel’s skin. She ruined my life. And still continues to do so. I despise Brigit for everything she has done to me. I hate her with a passion.
Gives it a bit more "oomph", wouldn't you say?
Also, happy 10,000!

Holy fucking shit, Happy 10,000 Everybody!!!!
Let's all celebrate with a movie nobody's heard of.
What Is the Work?
Maximum Impact is another No Budget shot-on-video movie directed by J.R. Bookwalter from 1992.
An insurance salesman named Jerry returns to his home town to find it’s been taken over by a gang of business suit criminals, with his old friend Phil working for these criminals to get some cash. But when his friend gets caught up (i.e. killed) in the snazzy criminals’ seedy business practices, Jerry finds himself stuck with a prostitute and a squad of suited gangsters coming to take her back.
Who Is He?
Mr. Huntsacker is the head of Huntsacker Industries, a criminal organization that supplies people with whatever twisted entertainment they want.
What has he done?
Introduced fondly recounting a story to his underling Bernie how he once castrated a man and gutted him during his time as a mafia hitman, Huntsacker has made things like child pornography in the past, and has ties to the unseen pimp Jameson, using his connections to gain access to his plethora of prostitutes. One of those prostitutes, Tonya, caught Huntsacker’s interest. Taking her as his girlfriend when she was 12, Huntsacker kept her by his side for 6 whole years.
Ordered by a caller to make a snuff film, Huntsacker assigns his men to do the job, which leads to the death of Jerry’s friend Phil, and Tonya taken back to Jerry’s place. Demanding that Tonya return, Huntsacker shoots Bernie for using her in the snuff film, and sends his men out to acquire Tonya. This leads to the death of Jerry’s love Jan, and a shootout ensues between Jerry and the goons. But once they’re all dead, Huntsacker shows up to hold Tonya at gunpoint, planning to take good care of her once he’s through with Jerry. One gunshot later, Huntsacker falls to the floor. Jerry forces him at gunpoint to promise to never set foot in there again… and then forces him to put the gun in his mouth, to which Jerry shoots and kills him.
Don’t know why he made him promise the first part if he was just going to kill him, but whatever. As they drive away, Jerry is told by Tonya that her little brother was sold to child pornographers in Los Angeles (Huntsacker’s heavily implied to be responsible for it). So the two drive away to get him back.
Redeeming Qualities?
None. His love for Tonya is all but stated to be obsessive, only valuing her for her looks. He also doesn’t care about his own men, viewing them as “mere tokens.”
Also he stated at the beginning that he can’t kill Bernie because of a favor he owed to his mother… which gets forgotten about completely after he casually shoots him in the head. So chalk it up to poor writing.
Heinousness?
For a movie that lasts only an hour, I think Huntsacker settles it. He’s responsible for all the crime that happens in the movie.
So Bernie was the one who directed the snuff film, but personality-wise, he’s a cross between Joe Pesci’s character from GoodFellas and Le Fou, meaning he’s still a wacky comic relief who doesn’t count.
Georgie, another of Huntsacker’s men, despite his scarred face and attitude, also doesn’t come close in the heinousness department like his boss.
And Jameson is nothing more than a Greater-Scope Villain who makes no appearance in the movie.
Conclusion
I think he’s a keep.

"No running in the halls!"Pendleton Snipe and Huntsacker.
Happy 10,000 pages, everyone! This EP has been on-hold for a looooong time, I'll celebrate by finally proposing him.
What is the work? The aptly-named Monster is a 2014 South Korean thriller flick about two girls—Bok-soon, a fearless street vendor suffering from a developmental disability and her best friend, a snarky little girl named Na-Ri—seeking revenge for the deaths of their sisters at the hands of a monster hiding in human skin, who forces the two to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with him.
Who is he? The titular monster, Tae-soo, is a stylish but solitary man who happens to be a cold-blooded Serial Killer. A psychopath since the day he was born, Tae-soo casually murdered his abusive stepfather as a child before asking his brother to play with him like nothing happened. He kept on killing for many years, always disposing of the evidence by cremating the bodies and using their ashes to make pottery for his vast collection, and if his "trophy room" is to be believed, Tae-soo has claimed over a hundred victims. Tae-soo gets his chance to reunite with his adoptive family when his brother, Ik-sang, hires him to recover a cellphone from a woman who had been blackmailing their uncle with a video that could ruin his career if it got leaked to the press, Tae-soo not only murders a couple at a local bar for talking too loudly but also sabotages a simple operation by killing the woman for no reason at all, kidnapping her ten-year-old little sister and Hunting the Most Dangerous Game with her for fun.
Tae-soo later tries to use his furnace to burn her alive, until she gives him information on the location of the cellphone and he decides to take her with him, threatening to kill an entire family in front of her For the Evulz. When Bok-soon's sister stumbles upon his game, Tae-soo murders her as well; knowing his brother was going too far for him to handle, Ik-sang goes to his house with a bodyguard by his side for his own safety... And Tae-soo unsurprisingly kills said bodyguard. Tired and disgusted by Tae-soo's pointless savagery, his brother and mother, Kyoung-ja, recruit a few gangsters to get rid of him before he goes out of control again, which only leads to Tae-soo remorselessly slaughtering them all for betraying him, and then trying to strangle Na-Ri to death out of sheer spite before being stopped by Bok-soon.
Mitigating Factors? Tae-soo is a precious case of how to subvert Even Evil Has Loved Ones: he initially wanted to belong in his family and cared for them despite being a soulless animal, he even tolerated their attempts at protecting themselves from him; but, in the end, Tae-soo's Mask of Sanity was way too heavy for him to carry, he not only attacked his brother for irritating him but also killed him and his mother once they made the unwise decision to betray him for one last time, not shedding a single tear while doing so. His own mother doesn't know what the hell is wrong with him, as she explains during a drunken rant that was meant to distract him from the gangsters:
Heinous? Triple-digit bodycount, do I need to say more?
Conclusion?

@Imp that is a much better quote I support putting that up.
Also happy 10000!
Hope your prepared for an unforgettable luncheonto Snipe and Tae.
Like I said, I won't be as consistent on here as MB but I'll come on every now and then.
I support Imp's suggestion of lengthening the Cinder quote to what he said by the way.
"For a second there, I mistook ya for a threat... but you're just a dirty little man!"Wow, 10000 pages.
CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesYes to Mr. Huntsacker and Tae-soo
Leaning yes on Snipe. His backstory makes me hesitate, if not for the fact he becomes a Boomerang Bigot. Although, does he become that BECAUSE he was the victim of prejudice?
Yes to Huntsacker and Tae-soo.

Tae and Huntsnacker
The best thing is that checking it seems page 5000 was reached in 2018 meaning in that 2ish years we've managed to do what took like 8 years to reach.

I would really love to celebrate with an EP but unfortunately I still haven`t finished reading that She-Ra fanfic called Cat-Ra which has a possible keeper. Maybe in two or three months (because this fanfic is over 1400k words long).
A lot more people and a lot more EP's. Nowadays, the usual batch is 30-40, and even 50 isn't out of the ordinary anymore. Several years ago, 20-30 was fairly big, and more than 30 was considered big

Yes to Mr. Nutsacker—I mean Sackhunter—I mean Sunthacker—I mean...yes. And yes to Tae-hoo.
Hello there! I'm from MB if you don't recognise me. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to participate since I usually stick to MB but I'll see if I can pop on whenever I can. Anyway, I gotta ask about a quote: "I fucking hate my mom." —Cinder Fall on her mother Brigit Stark, My Name Is Cinder
The character she is referring to counts but like this just sounds like something that an "edgier" teenager could say as well. Thoughts?
Edit: Holy shit I didn't even notice that. Happy 10000 pages, guys.
