Odd TV Tropes confessions

I'm now imagining the admins making one tiny change to fix that, and the entire website crashing as a result.

I'd like to apologize for all this.

Why change "Theatre" to "Theater"? We may as well just edit every page that uses British English to use American English.

What I mean is, there is no icon for pages in the Theatre/ namespace... because they added one to the Theater/ namespace instead, even though the former spelling is the one we use.

I feel like I still have some irrational frustration about the time I asked about image for The Unreveal because the thing in Tuxedo Mask's hand looked like a fedora but most people on the thread thought for some reason I was talking about the mask on his face so the entire thing was a mess of miscommunicating. I feel like things would've been more productive if people had just been able to understand which mask I was referring to, and while the stakes of that conversation were extremely low and I don't actually dislike the image... I'm still super annoyed that I couldn't get my point across without sounding like a crazy person.

And I'm just as worried that everyone is gonna see this and respond with "That's obviously a Domino Mask Jay"

Well, it's a confession in trope jargon does that count?

But I love the idea of a fairy and sort of Mecha counterpart to Giant's Knife; Human's Greatsword. She is what she considers a Humongous Mecha but because the fairy is not a human operator it's Power Armor or Mini-Mecha sized.

What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids? was one of the first tropes I discovered, and it was when I was still a kid (albeit twelve-going-on-thirteen). So, when I learned it had a Star Trek subpage, I was worried I was gonna get in trouble for watching it!

Because I was unfamiliar with the brand when I was younger, I first thought many years ago that Pottery Barn Poor was when someone was so poor they made their own pottery or lived in a barn. The trope is about the opposite

I was looking through Administrivia.Image Pickin Special Cases and I feel weirdly proud that I’m technically the reason some of the Funbag Fantasy Series games got the No Pic Ever treatment.

I think why I've stuck to TVT more than most platforms is two things: (1) I work better with words and (2) the contributing aspect. Frankly, this is the first (and so far only) "wiki" I've ever joined.

Fanart and fanfiction is fun to see, but they're time-consuming to conceive and it feels easy for your tributes to get lost in a sea of content. Over here, I'm sharing my knowledge of my favourite works in what arguably feels more like a private sector. I haven't much regard to having my name attached to a contribution here, it stays on a public page for all to see. I spread awareness of my favourite works much more efficiently here.

I like the lack of notability.

Wikipedia would never let me make a page for a fanfic fewer than a thousand people have ever read.

I agree that the lack of notability is awesome, makes any work valid for troping.

I might've been self-contradictory when I said "private sector" as well as "for all to see". Maybe it's because I like tending to more obscure pages, but sometimes I appreciate that it's more quiet here (in comparison to, say, the fandom scene on social media) yet still public.

For a different confession, it's rather satisfying for me to see the sentences in a trope example finish right at the end of the line. I know it's not practical to try for every screen, but sometimes I adjust my wording to make them fit to the end of the line. Heck, I'm doing this for my forum post right now, should work for mobile lol

I do gotta say the nature of this site makes it acceptable to enjoy really silly or obscure works without judgement. We all have those things we enjoy that nobody else is really all that interested in, and it just grows the scope of the wiki — and that's pretty nice. Like, this is one of the few communities I can just talk about my fixations in and not feel totally insane.

Wikipedia doesn't even have a page for Battle for Dream Island even though it has gotten over 70 million views in total on youtube and has been the subject of multiple conventions. I guess that isn't notable enough.

It's hard to find an online word processor that plays nice with Grammarly and Dragon NaturallySpeaking I'm tempted to just use posing here is a word processor.

If you excuse the RPG jargon. I've been falling my perception checks for the upload image button and the important links section of the pages probably since I joined the site.

In fact, they’ve apparently deleted the page about that show no less than three times.

In that same vein, Inanimate Insanity had its page deleted five times.

Furthermore, SuperMarioLogan has had its page deleted several times despite making headlines a few times, whereas it took until 2018 for them to deem JaidenAnimations sufficiently notable.
