I'm okay with cutting or doing sugar wiki.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Purenessto a Sugar Wiki move
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallEither a cut or Sugar Wiki move sound alright to me.
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."I'd be fine with either cutting or moving to Sugar. I mainly think this isn't something that belongs in Main/.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I get the impression this is trying to be a Useful Note, but is based on too subjective a standard to work. If it were just an index of people involved in anime it could stay in Main, but it's trying to identify people important in anime, which is a bigger can of worms.
I didn't know this page even existed before now
Cut preferred
Move to Sugar Wiki
This doesn't belong to Main. Sugar or JFF. Half of it kinda useful and other half is just Gushing About Shows You Like.
Wouldn't complain if cut.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupWorth noting I am also OK with a cut if that's what the majority consensus picks.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallCut or move to Sugar Wiki, leaning toward the latter.

I'm leaning towards cut. I don't think it's right for Sugar Wiki since it's trying to claim notability and isn't strictly a gushing thing.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Cut

CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorsPut me down for a move to Sugar Wiki.
I'm fine with it being on sugar, it's harmless and isn't causing edit wars even with concerns it be be trying to establish notability.
"Grandmaster Combat, son!"I'd say cut it. I could as well start some other subjective list for names to know in video games or somewhere else (because anime isn't inherently more deserving of such a list outside of being mostly based on a specific country IMO), but that would probably be too much to manage.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Cut the page. It cannot be Trivia as it lacks a definition.
Move to sugar wiki.
*shrug* Move to Sugar Wiki.

Crown Description:
The fact that Names To Know In Anime is a subjective index in Main/ has led others to question its status. Cutting it and moving it to Sugar Wiki (the latter because of gushing) have been suggested. What should be done?
~GastonRabbit gave others permission to launch the thread as long as the OP is credited so that's what I am doing.
(Gaston's OP)
As has been established in the past, subjective indexes aren't something we want on the wiki, which is why Sturgeons Tropes was cut, Writing Pitfall Index was trimmed and locked so it could be curated, Scrappy Index was purged of entries that had nothing to do with The Scrappy and were simply Pet Peeve Tropes of whoever added them, and Pet-Peeve Trope itself was given an Example Sectionectomy.
Yet here's an index of assorted people who have worked on anime and are claimed to be notable, despite the fact that There Is No Such Thing as Notability when it comes to creators and works, resulting in Fan Myopia. As a side note, there are a lot of red links on the index. Red links are perfectly fine for trope pages and work pages, but indexes are generally for keeping track of pages that already exist.
If we don't cut this entirely, I suppose moving it to Sugar Wiki is an option — we already did that with Essential Anime and Music of Note.
