I assume these are the tomorrow's crowner options?

Not sure if Disambig page needs a brief explanatory description (Bob Haircut has one) if what's the page is about should be obvious from pages linked.

[up]I agree, except I'd add the main Fandom-Specific Plot page in addition to those two subpages.

Voted the disambiguation option down as I don't see why people would want to use the page to get to another one - it defines a concept, and the concept is not an undefined term that applies to several works.

I don't mind disambiguating, but I'm not sure I want to add the Fan Works page to the list.

My primary reason for opposing making it Fan Speak is that the TV Tropes definition doesn't align with the main definition used by the actual fandom that makes most of them, so I'm just going for a straight disambig.

Does this work as a rewrite?

A "fuku fic" is a specific subtype of Ranma ½ fan works that centers around Ranma wearing an embellished Sailor Fuku costume, akin to the ones worn in Sailor Moon. Because of this specific convention, fuku fics often (but not always) include Ranma ½ / Sailor Moon crossovers in which girl-form Ranma becomes a member of the Sailor Senshi, or otherwise takes up the role of Magical Girl.

This is a variety of fic particularly prominent during the '90s, as these were the two most prominent Shōjo and Shōnen series at the time; it still remains surprisingly popular.

See Magical Girl AU, for fanfics about characters from non Magical Girl works becoming magical girls/boys, Common Crossover, for common crossover fanfic targets and Intercontinuity Crossover for crossovers between two or more completely different works.

If you want the other kind of Fuku Fic, the one that actually takes place in school and doesn't have anything to do with Ranma or Sailor Moon in some cases, check High School AU.

For listings of Ranma ½ and Sailor Moon fanfics and Fandom Specific Plots, see FanWorks.Sailor Moon, FanWorks.Ranma One Half, FandomSpecificPlot.Ranma One Half, and FandomSpecificPlot.Sailor Moon.

That's a good start...suggesting this tweaked version, mainly to clean up some grammar issues:

A "fuku fic" is a specific subtype of Ranma ½ fan work that centers around Ranma Saotome wearing an embellished Sailor Fuku costume, akin to the ones worn in Sailor Moon. Because of this specific convention, fuku fics often (but not always) include Ranma ½/ Sailor Moon crossovers in which girl-form Ranma becomes a member of the Sailor Senshi, or otherwise takes up the role of Magical Girl.

This variety of fic was particularly prominent during the '90s, as these were the two most prominent Shōjo and Shōnen series at the time; it still remains surprisingly popular.

See Magical Girl AU for fanfics about characters from non-Magical Girl works becoming magical girls/boys; Common Crossover for common crossover fanfic targets; and Intercontinuity Crossover for crossovers between two or more completely different works.

[up]That sounds good.

Edit: I added it to the Definition-Only Pages index and updated the description, and removed examples. I also edited its entry on Fanfic Tropes to account for the fact that we rewrote the page to use the term's original definition.

Edit: Main/ is taken care of.

This didn't take long due to the low amount of wicks, so locking.

Trope Repair Shop: Fuku Fic
4th Mar '22 2:25:33 AM

Crown Description:

Fuku Fic lacks wicks and has a very narrow definition (which raised concerns that it's Too Rare To Trope and The Same But More Specific to Intercontinuity Crossover, Common Crossover, and Fandom Specific Plot), and it's been pointed out that our definition of the term doesn't match up with how it's used elsewhere on the Internet. What should be done with it?
