In this case, should their edits regarding Schneider’s controversies be reverted on Creator.Dan Schneider?

I saw their edits, and messaged them about it since they commented them out instead of deleting them. There's a difference between troping real-life people on a Creator page, and this trope, which is specifically about people getting kicked off a project due to real-life controversy (which Schneider falls under, thereby making him legit).

I don't think it was confirmed that he was kicked off his shows due to the sexual abuse allegations. The only thing that I think the network confirmed was the verbal abuse, as well as creative differences, and any further official investigations seem to have happened afterwards. I could be wrong though cuz all the sources I'm finding are unclear on what exactly the network's saying, even the official outlets.

• This trope happened to two Ohio State University football head coaches:
  • For the near three decades he spent as its coach, Woody Hayes was no stranger to controversy both on and off the field. But the crux of his temper—and, with it, the nadir of his career—came during the 1978 Gator Bowl, when Clemson's Charlie Bauman intercepted OSU's Art Schlichter and was driven to the latter team's sidelines, where an irate Hayes wasted no time in punching Bauman in the throat, sparking a brawl. While Bauman wasn't injured, the incident was caught on national television, and Hayes was fired the following morning. His teaching career wasn't affected, and he was ultimately inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame five years later, but the altercation hung over Hayes for the rest of his life: he would never coach another game before his fatal heart attack in 1987.
  • Jim Tressel, who coached Youngstown State's football team from 1986 to 2000, became OSU's head coach in 2001. In May 2011, however, his 25-year coaching career was abruptly halted when the NCAA investigated improper benefits violations involving some of the Ohio State football players during the previous season, accusing Tressel of withholding information from them. Once Tressel resigned from Ohio State, the university self-vacated its victories for the 2010 season (including the 2011 Sugar Bowl), and the NCAA imposed both a show-cause penalty on Tressel for the next five years and the football program on probation for two years. OSU alumnus Urban Meyer replaced Tressel as coach in November 2011, while the latter retired from coaching altogether when he was named the 10th president of Youngstown State University in 2014. Tressel was eventually inducted into the College Football and Buckeyes Hall of Fame one year later.

A Role-Ending Misdemeanor has to be "off the job." Hayes obviously doesn't qualify under that criterion, while Tressel probably doesn't as well.

In that case, I've removed them.

Do we have an equivalent for on-the-job stuff? Because this would also disqualify Dan Schneider from REM as his stuff was about abusive behavior on set (as well as Creative Differences, IIRC).

See, I think this trope should be expanded to cover on-set stuff.

There is a bit of a dispute about the example on this page [we received a complaint about the example about Nicole], anyone here know how to source it?

• Dream quickly rose to popularity through his "Minecraft Manhunt" video series, in which he would try to speedrun the game while being hunted by a group of other content creators. At the same time, he attempted to develop a serious speedrunning career in the game. In October 2020, Dream would devote 6 entire streams (24 total hours of gameplay) to lowering his time in Any% Random-Seed 1.16,^note A category that involves loading a random world seed and trying to kill the Ender Dragon as fast as possible. The 1.16 version is one big Luck-Based Mission due to the bartering mechanic, which has a small chance to grant the player Ender Pearls, which are an important tool in Minecraft speedrunning ending with a 4th place time on the leaderboard. ^note  In fact, he was actually really close to beating the world record up until reaching the End Portal, losing time due to there not being enough ender pearls in the portal and being forced to look for more. However, some noticed that he was getting a suspiciously high amount of Ender Pearls from bartering with Piglins, as well as Blaze Rods from killing Blazes, the two most integral items for the run. The moderators of speedrun.com, the website where the speedrun was posted, analyzed all 24 hours of footage and, after a two month investigation, concluded that the favorable drop rates in the run were so unlikely to be recreated^note There was a 1 in 20 sextillion chance of the two favorable drops occurring at the frequency in Dream's speedrun. Tests have been used with over 1 trillion simulations performing the same amount of Piglin trades and Blaze kills within those 24 hours, and none of them came even close to Dream's success rate. that the only possible conclusion was that the game had to have been modified to give Dream better drop rates for Ender Pearls and Blaze Rods. The mods ultimately removed the speedrun due to cheating, and the Youtuber became a pariah in the speedrunning community, not helped by his questionable response, in which he denied everything and accused the moderators of lying and bias (even trying to get an astrophysicist to prove that the probabilities were possible), although he has since accepted their decision. This incident most likely torpedoed any chance of a future for Dream in serious speedrunning, although his general career remains extremely healthy. He would later release an apology admitting to using a mod that boosted Ender Pearl rates, explaining that he normally used it for his challenge videos and had not meant to leave it on for a more serious speedrun.

I don't like Dream myself but this didn't hurt his career in the slightest other than drawing attention to how dishonest he is. If anything he's bigger than ever, with his fanbase trying to this day to justify the cheating. The entry even admits that this didn't hurt his career other than him being shunned by the speedrunning community. Remove?

Yes, remove. "Mask" is more controversial than that (I've heard of "Mask" and I don't even watch Dream) and Dream's career survived that one, so the entry you brought up should be an easy cut.

....does it count on the "sticking" aspect of REM? Given that even after he's removed from the team, there's the bolded sentence (note that it happened after the mod was announced to be cancelled), and he's also been permitted to show footage of some of the cancelled build's content.

Would this be worth adding to the page in two weeks time?

The waiting period on Scott Adams' racist comments getting Dilbert cancelled ended today (counting from its overall distribution being pulled, rather than the first individual papers to drop it).

I've added another troper's previously cut RoleEndingMisdemeanor example back onto Trivia.Dilbert, with slight tweaks to wording - e.g. adding dates. Let me know if it looks ok.

So, is it just me, or do we need to trim down some of the Wall of Text entries on the RoleEndingMisdemeanor.Sports page?

It feels like an "Esports" folder on the Sports page makes the most sense.

For what it's worth, I've moved the e-sports entries to the sports page, citing this cleanup thread.

Also, a couple of weeks ago, I brought up the Ime Udoka example up on the Example Indentation cleanup thread and per RAMChYLD's recommendations:

Given that, I think we should trim down and re-alphabetize some of the sports entries (the edit history for the sports page is here). Thoughts?
