Misused: Bug Buzz

That works for me. And the related tropes/compares will fill it out. E.g. This is not just Bothersome Buzzing Bugs [or whatever] or noises used for Loud of War; these buzzing bugs actually physically damage the target. ...

Another thing—I don’t think we need to bother making anything for for Flies Equal Death. We only found one relevant example on the sandbox. I don’t think we need to launch a trope like that in order to fix Bug Buzz. I think we should move to disambiguating after the TLP drafts launch and just put “insects signify death” idea in the salvage yard or something.

MacronNotes, Is Buzz Attack a superpower controlled by someone else? If that's so, then its user must be some sort of a Pest Controller, or the bug works for their master as an Attack Animal. Also, idk if this is helpful, but something like "Expect the victim of such an attack to scream in pain from Sensory Overload and yell: 'my ears!' while covering them."

Uh in some cases it’s controlled by someone else but I think there’s plenty of works where insects/insectoid creatures do this on their own. I will try to incorporate some of what you said into the description

I haven’t been feeling well mentally lately so I haven’t been on the site much. I will try to pay more to the Annoying bugs in-universe draft I have now. Not sure if I want to donate time to making one about buzz attacks anymore though but don’t know if anyone else would want to. Might just consider writing one when I feel up to it.

Would anyone object to me switching the sandbox description with the trope's? It's short, but without the list of insects, the current would be even shorter.

I guess it can be swapped.

All right, no objections, so I swapped them and added related tropes.

I've added the misuse from the sandbox with tropes attached to those tropes. Portent of Doom, etc.

So since Bug Buzz is basically like my “annoying insects in-universe” draft now I’ll just move examples from that TLP to Bug Buzz and then discard it.

In order to close this thread, I think all we have to do is clean the wicks and make sure they fit the new definition.

OK, wicks checked, leaving 31, "Standing". Gonna cut list Sandbox.Bug Buzz and keep Sandbox.Bug Buzz Sorting (Imperial Majesty XO's neater arrangement of the former).

I moved examples from Bugged by Buzzing Bugs so I’m going to discard it now.

I don’t think we need to make a “Bug Buzz Attack” TLP (or any other TLP for that matter) in order to close this thread considering how few examples were actually about that trope. We can just yard the concept for later.

Sounds good to me. Anything else that we have to do, or are we ready to close?

We have Make Me Wanna Shout and Make Some Noise, so the handful of buzz attack examples can go there for now (and later mined for Bug Buzz Attack TLP if anyone wants).

What are we doing with Bug Buzz's wicks? Are they being removed with the examples on Bug Buzz Sorting being sent to the Trope Idea Salvage Yard?

Tabs already went through them but all that was done was misuse cleaning so any wicks that weren’t about insect sounds annoying people in-universe were removed.

I think the examples on the sandbox could be moved to Trope Salvage Yard
