Here was the original format.

• Cruella turns evil because Dalmatians hurt her.^note It was often joked that Cruella would turn evil because something would happen to her involving Dalmatians. It turned out to be exactly correct, leading to a resurgence in the meme after release.
  • "Because Dalmatians killed my mom, okay?!"

It doesn't belong because the original meme entry should cover it. Its another work being quoted when there is already an entry to use.

It could be conflated into the entry, maybe in the note, by highlighting how common that specific wording / meme crossover is.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

Bringing up the following example from Infinity Wars (2018):

• Memetic Mutation: Why is Gamora? ^Explanation  Requiem is Gamora. Fans knew that she wanted to get that piece of her soul back, but her reason or lack thereof for getting all the Infinity Stones, wiping out half the universe as if she was Thanos, and being all around Ax-Crazy has left readers scratching their heads.

I feel like the line doesn't need to be spoilered, although the explanation can mention that it has some.

Bringing up the following examples from Mortal Kombat: Conquest:

• Memetic Mutation:
  • Shao Kahn's speech at the end of the final episode has been oft-quoted on Mortal Kombat message boards, especially in the wake of 9.
  • Siro the greatest Mortal Kombat character!

Both of them seem lacking in context.

Update on UHF: Decided to spare the countermeasures example, since I do watch ProtonJon and can confirm that he has variants of it (so it qualifies as a mutation). A second opinion is always welcome.

However, the quotes are given the commented-out treatment.

Marvel: A Fresh Start

• Memetic Loser: Between Marvel getting the film rights to the X-Men back due to Disney's acquisition of Fox, the increased focus on bringing said X-Men back, and the Death of the Inhumans event coming after years of Character Shilling in an attempt to turn them in Marvel's mutants due to film rights, and not to mention the epic failure of the show starring them after it was supposed to have been a big movie, the Inhumans have become the official whipping boys of a very vocal portion of the Marvel community.

This is misuse, yea? It's less them being portrayed as weaker than they are and more just bashing them.

While I don't care much for the Inhumans enough to know about them, I'm inclined to say that, yes, it is misuse as what made them "losers" is caused from outside the narrative and not in-universe.

On Memes.Genshin Impact.

• Unplayable Minigames ^Explanation The Midsummer Island Adventure features minigames scattered around the archipelago that reward the player upon completion. Many players skipped the tutorial upon receiving the Wind-Blessed Harpastum (An item required to complete them) and have no clue how to play these games.

Is this misuse? I don't know, but it sounds like a case of Guide Dang It! than a meme.

So I'm looking through Memes.Tumblr, and so many of them are memes that belong to specific fandoms that just happen to be popular on Tumblr. Should we give the page a cleanup so that all the memes there are actually Tumblr-specific, or does it not matter?

I think we could clear out memes that aren't specific to or about Tumblr. I see rage comics there and I'm pretty sure that wasn't a big thing on Tumblr as much as other sites.

Yeah, those and other ones could be moved to other pages to make the page tumblr-specific.

I was also surprised to see no mention of the 3 Weed Smoking Girlfriends, but that's another story and I don't know the site's culture well enough to do anything about that

That can be moved to Pop Culture Holiday.
