Nah, I think that's it? Ask for the moves on Locked Edits thread, do any splits yourself, and clean up the wicks when the moves happen?

EDIT: Oh, and make sure that the sub-page splits have good context-ed tropes in them. Not sure how good YMMV.Nameless for the web animation is.

[up] Oh yeah. You're not expected to read through an entire page, but if you can glance at it and it doesn't have any good examples, it'd be a good time to not move that subpage.

ComicBook.Mystery Men is clashing with Film.Mystery Men. The comic page is relatively new and subpages all seem to be for the film.

I'm wondering whether to move it to Mystery Men (Marvel Comics) or Mystery Men (2011).

Thoughts?

Seems like an obvious split.

No arguments that with the upcoming 2023 The Super Mario Bros. Movie, the 1993 film should be moved to "Film/SuperMarioBros1993" so that it'll be Super Mario Bros. (1993) as well any of its subpages? Asking here as well, just in case.

They don't share a title, so from that perspective, it's not necessary.

Except the titles contain exactly "Super Mario Bros." in their names, even though the 2023 version has "The" and "Movie" in its title. (And that's not even getting into some of the other non-game materials that also contain "Super Mario Bros." in their titles.) Some of the subpages like Trivia and YMMV under the umbrella "Super Mario Bros." contains film-specific entries that's better suited to be split off under the 1993 film, like how the 2023 film already has its own subpages of Trivia and YMMV. That way, if a person wants to find tropes Trivia specific to the 1993 film, they can look under "Trivia/SuperMarioBros1993," "NightmareFuel/SuperMarioBros1993" for '93 film only Nightmare Fuel, and so forth. In fact, there's already a disambiguated characters page for the 1993 film using "Characters/SuperMarioBros1993"!

I notice Metropolis, the film and Metropolis, the musical based on it, share a name but Metropolis (2001) got split by year. Is it worth disambiguating the former two based on their release years (1927 and 1989, respectively)?

[down] Appreciate it! Corrected the Theatre/ namespace accordingly!

Since both Anime/ and Theatre/ are based on the film (though the former loosely) Film/ can stay where it is, but Theatre/, the other adaptation, should be disambiguated.

Likewise I'd like to add the year for Lone Star (1996) as it's unrelated to the other work of the same name Lone Star (1952) and I'm unsure as to why one's got a year and the other doesn't (It's also now sharing a YMMV page with Music.Lone Star).

So kind of an issue. I made a page for action Die Hard ripoff Chaos (2005). The issue is that there already is another film Chaos (2005) which is a horror film and rip off of Last house on the left. This is causing some wicks to the later to be included on my page. Any idea on how to fix this.

DerivativeWorks.Beauty And The Beast's "Golden" entries seems to split things based on distribution company or something?

@eagle108: Disambiguating is not necessary for distinguishing between WesternAnimation. The Super Mario Bros Movie and Film.Super Mario Bros, since they have different titles. However, that doesn't mean you can't disambiguate Film.Super Mario Bros to distinguish it from Franchise.Super Mario Bros

I've considered disambiguating Film.Super Mario Bros for a while, but it wasn't exactly a big priority. The 2023 movie makes it more likely, if only to avoid a "you may be looking for" line at the top.

@Twiddler: bwburke94 pretty much echoes my point on needing to avoid the "you may be looking for" line at best.

While the 1993 film is already disambiguated from the franchise itself, the subpages themselves for the '93 film - Trivia, YMMV, Funny, etc. - are not disambiguated. If a person wants to find Nightmare Fuel specific to the '93 film, they have to go to the franchise's Nightmare Fuel page and scroll down, instead of being able to go directly to the '93 film's own NF page. If a troper wants to edit Heartwarming tropes specific to the '93 film, they have to go the franchise's entire Heartwarming subpage to do so instead of directly on the '93 film's own Heartwarming page.

When I click on "Characters" while on the '93 film's page, it directs me to the franchise "Characters/SuperMarioBros" page instead of directly to "Characters/SuperMarioBros1993". We already have "Characters/SuperMarioBros1993" specifically for the '93 film and "Characters/TheSuperMarioBrosMovie" for the 2023 film, and that the 2023 film already has its own subpages. So why not also the subpages and the film page itself specifically for the '93 movie?

@miraculous: Wikipedia distinguishes them by adding the genre: "Chaos (2005 action film)" and "Chaos (2005 horror film)". So maybe Film.Chaos 2005 Action and Film.Chaos 2005 Horror? Country of release wouldn't work because one is American and the other is American-Canadian-British.

The other option I can think of is using the name of the director, with or without the release year:

[up] It looks like I wasn't clear: I'd support moving Film.Super Mario Bros to Film.Super Mario Bros 1993 to separate it and its subpages from Franchise.Super Mario Bros.

I just don't think "distinguishing Film.Super Mario Bros from WesternAnimation. The Super Mario Bros Movie" is — on its own — sufficient reason for the move.

But that doesn't matter because "separating Film.Super Mario Bros from Franchise.Super Mario Bros" already is sufficient reason.

@Twiddler: Ach, so apparently I wasn't as clear on my own end as well. Yes, I was basically promoting on moving the 1993 film to "Film/SuperMarioBros1993" and its subpages. That's what I was trying to get at.

Should David Lodge Actor be moved to David Lodge (American Actor), because David Lodge (British Actor) exists?

I'm going ahead and making the move to Film.Super Mario Bros 1993 and disambiguating the old page. Usually I am against moves like this if the work is part of the same franchise, but I support here it for one reason: there already exists a distinct page of Characters.Super Mario Bros 1993. Besides two works of the same medium sharing the same name, the second best reason to make this sort of move if there exists two distinct character pages that should not overlap due to the stark differences with the adaptation (much like the similarly situated character pages of Characters.Sonic The Hedgehog and Characters.Sonic The Hedgehog 2020).

[up] - 19 wicks left.

Any reason not to turn Creator.David Lodge Actor into a redirect to Creator.David Lodge? Why have both disambigs?

We need to move Webcomic. The Walking Dead because it's a fanwork and not related to the Franchise, I'd say "The Walking Dead (Equestria Girls)" because not like there's other stuff with the same fandom and title:

https://www.fimfiction.net/stories?q=%22The+Walking+Dead%22+%23equestria-girls+&order=relevance

But I guess "The Walking Dead (PaulySentry)" is even less likely to duplicate?
