I'm not sure how that's the case. If an example says "______ argues that ______ is ______", it's pretty clear that it's just somebody's opinion.
It's been a week and the top option has 14 votes. Should we call the crowner?
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Bump. Are there any objections?
I don't think so, no.
Yeah, safe to call.
Since the entries are not mutually exclusive, we could do both IUEO and NRLEP, since both have ratios higher than 2:1.
And of course, the cleanup afterwards.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI added the trope to the IUEO and NRLEP indexes and provided a link to the above post in my edit reasons. I also added notices to the description. Cleanup is all that's left.
I went with the "Tropes Attracting Flamebait, Complaining, and Natter" category for the NRLEP index. If a different folder fits better, move as necessary.
Edit: I cut the Real Life folder, since it was the easiest section to clean up.
Edit: Can the two long paragraphs (one continues where the other left off) regarding Tropes Are Tools be deleted? They were presumably put there to reduce complaining, but it's a moot point now that further measures have been taken.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. That's the NRLEP folder I would have put it in too.
Also, scrub those paragraphs, please.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!I cut the paragraphs.
Edit: As a side note, a bit ago I cut the two Useful Notes wicks the trope had per NRLEP.

Working on cleaning up off page examples. There are some out-of-universe but acknowledged examples that need further review:
- Capitalism Is Bad: In the trope description.
- Classically-Trained Extra: In the only example under "Advertising".
- Digital Piracy Is Evil: Under "Neutral", the Taylor Swift example.
- Do Not Do This Cool Thing: In the trope description.
- Misaimed Fandom: Under "Related Tropes".
- The Generation Gap: In the trope description.
- ComicBook.Crecy: Examples list. Does This Count? I can't tell.
- Creator.Karl Marx: Examples list. Tip-toeing Real Life much?
- Film.Trumbo: Examples list. I can't tell if this is even an example.
- Franchise.Assassins Creed: Examples list. In-Universe reference to out-of-universe example.
- Music.Beggars Banquet: Description. Out-of-universe. Leaning towards no.
- Music.Rage Against The Machine: Examples list. Creator-acknowledged out-of-universe.
- WesternAnimation.The LEGO Movie: Examples list. Creator-acknowledged out-of-universe.
- YMMV.Dumbo 2019: Out-of-universe reference. I deleted a reference on the work's main page.
- YMMV.Tron Legacy: Out-of-universe reference.
- Misaimed Marketing: Under "Films — Live-Action", the Speed Racer example.
- Creator.Francisco De Goya: Examples list. Again, can't tell if this counts.

Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand! The Francisco de Goya one I'm pretty sure was added under a misunderstanding of what the trope is about, so I removed it. I may have jumped the gun on Misaimed Marketing, though.
Resolved the first eight instances in your list. I'd agree that the Crecy example is a misuse; it technically describes in-universe events, but it's phrased as a criticism of the story's themes (and their execution) rather than a description of intentional themes within the narrative. So I deleted it.

Resolved the rest. The lampshade hanging is about the work/creator(s) in real life, so I think it'd fall into real-life use of the trope, which is not permitted.
I think we're good then.
Motion to close, please.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Okay, will do the honors.

Crown Description:
Many examples amount to Complaining About Shows You Dont Like. These options are not mutually exclusive.
My issue then is with how the examples are worded. They present the conclusions reached by the authors as objective truth, rather than just opinions.
