This thread is a metathread for Trope Repair Shop discussion. Things like TRS policy, what is needed in a TRS opening post, questions about whether a certain topic is TRS-worthy and questions about why a thread wasn't opened go here.
Some guidelines for when/whether to use TRS:
- If the trope is fine, but has some bad examples, feel free to clean them up or to start a cleanup project at Projects: Short-Term
. Trope Repair Shop is for when cleaning isn't sufficient.
- If you think there's something wrong with the trope that systematically attracts improper examples, start a discussion at Trope Talk. Use a Wick Check to see whether there's an issue present (and if there is, what the issue is), and post the results on TRS Queue and wait your turn if a problem is present. The following methods are two possible ways to do a wick check (though not necessarily the only ways):
- You can go ahead with the Wick Check without a discussion if you know what you're looking for. While it's not mandatory, feel free to ask someone for help confirming that you got the issue and the numbers correct.
- Consult the Wick Check Project thread to collect evidence if you need help.
- If a wick check is too much for you, you can leave the issue at Tropes Needing TRS citing the discussion.
- Depending on a trope (or non-trope) in question, a wick check may be determined to not be required, such as for tropes that are not thriving (per the standards for trope health listed on the Wick page). However, there is no problem if you want to do one anyway.

Yeah, I brought The Dragon's thread back from the Morgue after Nintendo Hard's thread was made. Thankfully, at least two threads have relatively low wick counts if we want to get a slot freed, since Just For Pun and WTH, Casting Agency? don't have terribly high amounts of wicks left.

Since I brought back Broken Aesop's thread since the condition for bringing it back was coming to a decision regarding what to do with An Aesop (which happened recently), we're at 51 threads, but since I called the thread for The Great Player Versus Player Debate, which is a wick-starved page, we should be back down to 50 threads soon.

I closed the God Is Evil thread because I noticed that the thread actually didn't make any changes to the trope, and the decision was to make a TLP draft that ended up with concerns regarding redundancy with God of Evil. That conversation ought to be taking place in the comments for the TLP draft and not a TRS thread that had no action being take for the trope it was for, and if God of Evil needs TRS, it needs its own thread. That, and if anyone wants to move examples from God Is Evil to either Evil Gods or God of Evil in the future, that can be done through Short-Term Projects or Wick Cleaning Projects.
Anyway, paging ~good-morning since they're up next.

No big deal. WTH, Casting Agency? doesn't have too many wicks left to sort through (and it forbids on-page examples, so only wicks need to be sorted through) and I've been chipping away at Bonus Boss (and I think others have been working on the latter), so you should be getting a slot soon.

Shouldn't Comic Strips be the main page instead of Newspaper Comics? I mean, even disregarding how comic strips can be distributed digitally now, see modern Garfield, Foxtrot, and AJ & Magnus'', comic strips even before the internet can be published via Magazines. So I'm not sure why we don't use the more inclusive nane.

The definitions between Comic Strips and Webcomics are becoming very blurred, given that those in the Comic Strip namespace are often also available digitally (including on the same day as the print version of the same strip) and Webcomics are sometimes also available in print.
Yes, Newspaper Comics should be moved to Comic Strips.

Anybody else thinks that VideoGame examples of Armor Is Useless suffer from quite a lot of misuse? Especially on work pages.
Or is it just me being too nitpicky? I mean if an armor does reduce the damage taken, then it's not really useless, is it?

It's been ages since Recycled In Space got renamed to Recycled with a Gimmick, but far as I can tell the cleanup never happened (prolly because we kept the main trope as a redirect despite it having been spammed everywhere) . Do we make/resurrect a thread? Stick on Wick Cleaning Projects and hope someone picks it up?

There might. My thought though is that it's really just dewicking and cutting misuse, the type of thing that tends to lead to slow threads since most can just be axed on sight.

I'd be up for a cleanup thread of some sort, but as you said, it's debatable as to where to put it. Short-Term may not be right, as project threads tend to focus on bringing up questionable examples for evaluation. At the same time, it's unlikely that those 5300 wicks are going to go away on their own, so I think a thread of some sort is needed to draw attention to it.
