I... attempted to build a giant ARMY Bomb in Minecraft. Key word being "attempted". I tried to copy a thing I found on the internet with my own little spin on it (sticking beacons inside it to make it light up) and it just... looked awful, and my attempt at fixing it made it look worse. I'm hoping someone will draw me up a template for one so I can dismantle the failure and build a better one.

I once tried to build a castle in Minecraft a couple years ago, it ended up looking like a slightly modified version of a toaster.

Well, that’d be jus’ a waste. Why would ya want to deprive the world of such anomaly as yourself?

When I was in 3rd grade and me and my siblings and everyone was obsessed with Minecraft Pocket Edition. Around the time when the "nyan" lava cave seed was a big thing - I had a really good world with that seed.

Well one of my sister's friends showed us a glitch how to duplicate items by using chests and crashing the game. I did the glitch and I ended up cloning so many diamonds that I had entire chests full of diamond blocks. And you couldn't get cheats or anything back then, so it was the best way for a 9 year old (me) to get infinite diamonds.

Also, I've always been a big fan of Minecraft, even when it was considered "cringe" by cringe culture (cringe culture is bad.)

Im on a long hiatus/quitted because im burnt out sorry

I traded all my The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel games and Tokyo Xanadu for Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. This one I came to later regret because I loved Falcom's creative use of Worldbuilding in those games, but at the time, I was in a tough spot because of Atelier Ryza and all the press it was receiving. So with no money left, on Ryza's release day, I made the ultimate sacrifice. They were limited editions too with valuable merch.

I've been using the Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Grand Prix events as a means of staving off having to do the rest of the relic races in adventure mode. Why? Because I'm not good at time trial stuff. (She says, having already beaten more than a few Oxide ghosts, including Oxide Station...)

[up] I never really got past the Dodongo's cavern at the start.

Whenever I tried Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask, I had to have a walkthrough open which I found so tedious it took the joy out of it all.

I think what got me was the boat ride in the huge room with the guillotines. I kept falling off, not making it to the ledges in time, or some other thing happened. Farore's Wind at least helped me get back to the guillotine section without having to walk there.

The Shadow Temple is meant to be creepy and scary. Nothing to be shameful of, imo. It just has its intended effect on you. It's not going to scare everyone(creepy stuff just is shrugged off for me, but I literally am a Halloween baby and find a lot "creepy" stuff kind of cute too, so eh). In fact, I've seen even less scary stuff in comparison have effects on kids. How old were you at the time anyway?

I was playing OOT at around age 7 but I was never GOOD at it until years later XD I was scared of tons of things in games as a kid—Baron von Blubba from Bubble Bobble, Dr. Robotnik in Sonic 1 and Sonic's Schoolhouse, the Bowser trap door in Mario 64, the Angry Sun, Phanto, the Lunge Fish from Yoshi's Island...It's a wonder I even played them at all given how much stuff in games scared me as a kid.

Aw, don't feel bad. I remember getting very upset at the part in Majora's Mask when Link got turned into the Deku Scrub.

Well, they did remake the game with the rating e10+ later, so it's likely it was just one of the few things that was a bit much for many kids to handle.

I honestly would say many of those were meant to invoke fear in itself(can't say on the Bubble Bobble one, though). Hell, Bowser's laugh as you die always gave me the creeps to this day. Robotnik was presented as very dark in the US releases compared to his more cartoony self in the Japanese ones. It doesn't help that one of his cartoon versions is SATAM, which is the epitome of his US characterization. Whereas AOSTH encompass his Japanese design better, albeit not the exact same character design, just the characterization moreso. The Sonic OVA is exactly what he's supposed to be like in the Japanese versions. Can absolutely be cold and calculating, but is super cartoony in general. Even matches his design in Sonic CD. The weird thing about his Sonic 2 portrayal is the cover shows him dark and deadly like SATAM, but he is more cartoony in the game itself at times(of course, that's due to them not changing his US sprite either. That'd be a waste of time anyway, since he has barely any animations nor do they overly go into his dark self among the manual to justify it).

[up] Just the game in general. Hoo boy. And then you have the creepiest character of all, the Happy Mask Salesman. Though it's due to the constant character expressions changing with the camera angles changing that helps sell him perfectly. Otherwise, he wasn't that bad, if you only saw the basic model. Just a bit of a creeper instead.

I think it was the music that scared me more than anything in Sonic 1, cause I thought the Sonic 2 Robotnik music was so awesome I'd pause the game to dance to it (or put on the equivalent music in Sonic Advance's sound test).

I remember Baron von Blubba gave me actual nightmares once, but the Life Keeper in Chocobo's Dungeon 2 for PS 1 gave me recurring nightmares that occasionally persist. (Why did they have to make the Grim Reaper the embodiment of Shoplift and Die and randomly appear in treasure chests and Doom cards, which could be unidentified?)

I remember one time, I accidentally saved while dying when I was swarmed by enemies in that one part of Wolfenstein 3-D, including the crazy man in white, and whenever I loaded it, I was got swarmed and died. Whenever I did that, I would hide under the desk because of how scared I was. ^_^;;

Something that still gets me to this day is being in nothing but a black abyss in a game due to walk-through walls codes. I'm not scared of darkness in itself, mind you, but I can always see outlines of things with my eyes anyway. So...

That said, Quest64 has its share of nightmare fuel. A few monsters are pretty demonic, including the Hell Hound and Ghost Hound, and all of the Mammon's World monsters. Mammon's World itself is a desolate redeco of many other areas. And some weren't actually in the final game, like two Windmills and the War Room from Brannoch Castle. Other times monsters are just silly; King Beigus has a mohawk. Yes. A freaking mohawk. In medieval times.

As a kid I actually believed the mass media and thought that violent video games are evil.

I couldn't beat the final level in Prince of Persia and thought it's because I got there using cheats (but was too lazy to beat all the levels without cheats, it was one of the few games I didn't really like). Much later I started thinking that it happened because I had a pirated cartridge. But even later I looked a walkthrough on Youtube. DAMN YOU, INVISIBLE PLATFORM.

At the early, safer levels I cannot force myself to not farm points. This is why I die at the early levels more often than on later, harder ones.

I play mobile games. Also I actually prefer to emulate games on mobile devices. Emulators are small and light, I don't like to use a big PC for them, and smartphone is almost like a NES controller. Yes, there are no buttons, but for me it is rather pro than contra. The only console I ever had was a bootleg Mega Drive, the controllers had weak rubber parts that got quickly worn out and had to be replaced, so I have bad memories about gamepads. And I did beat several games on a smartphone.
