...I actually liked Out of the Shadows a bit more than the first one.
I mean, it's still bad, but not bad in a way that make me feel like I need my ass kicked for watching it.
One Strip! One Strip!True. I did have fun with Out of the Shadows, although I felt that they could have organized the story a bit more.
Sort of similar to how I feel about the Sonic movie. I really enjoyed this movie, but they could've had a more original plot that was true to the games.

I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!I remember around the time the first design hit everyone was talking about how it was a Robotnik origin movie XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.I've come up with a fantasy casting list for characters yet to appear in this series and I wonder you all would think.
Tails - Tara Strong (she's the only actress I can think of that gets nerdy and cute characters right)
Knuckles - Either Laurence Fishburne or Ving Rhames
Amy - Amy Adams
Cream - Sarah Silverman
Big the Cat - Brad Garrett
Shadow - Keanu Reeves
Rogue - Lisa Zane
E-123 Omega - Taika Waititi
Charmy - Stephen Root
Vector - Michael Chiklis
Espio - Bradley Cooper
Infinite (assuming Paramount has the rights to him) - Jack Nicholson
Metal Sonic - Willem Dafoe
Mephiles - Mark Hamill

"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherSorry, but the only ones that got me hooked are Shadow, Omega, Mephiles, and Vector. (Espio isn't so bad, but I lean more towards Steven Yuen.)
Everyone else just seems miscast...
Charmy should NOT be voiced by an adult male.

Now I can only imagine Sarah Silverman as Vanellope von Schweetz as Cream, and like says, it really doesn't work in my mind.
SoundCloudBrad Garrett as Big the Cat and Keanu Reeves as Shadow sound awesome!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Maybe increase the pitch like in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies?
Yeah, I feel like of all those casting choices, those two are the best cast. Everything else was just pulled out of my scrambled brain.

"The devil's got all the good gear. What's God got? The Inspiral Carpets and nuns. Fuck that." - Liam GallagherMetal Sonic should imo always be played by Sonic's actor, just with a very different inflection and maybe some vocal modification.
It's interesting that Sonic was recast but [REDACTED] wasn't, but I guess they wanted Sonic to code younger so they cast an actor more known for that "wild kid her" voicework.
On the flipside, I kind of want Carrey to be the official voice of Eggman Nega in the games now (I love Pollock too much to see him replaced). Though he's almost definitely way too expensive for that, even if he did do voicework - which as far as I know he never has.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Pollock is too amazing to be replaced in the main role. It says a lot that he's vocied eggman since 2003 since he's just that good in the role.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."They actually tried to replace him for colors, BUT NO OTHER actor could come close to what he could do.
That's awesome.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Whooof now that's long-standing.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."More accurately, when they re-auditioned for the roles of all the characters post-4Kids, Mike Pollock came in to audition for the same role, and got accepted again.
We almost got Ryan Drummond to voice Sonic again in the same fashion, but So A didn't want to co-operate with a Union, and "offered" him to drop the union for benefits (I say "offered" because the benefits were a straight downgrade from what the Union already gave him).

I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniI am... not as endeared to Mike Pollock as some are.
He's good but he's not the only person who can play Robotnik well. It disgusts me that they kept him and got rid of everybody else. What a slap in the face. It's fine when the company throws everyone out, screw them right? But keeping that "main person" would make me feel like garbage.
Jim Cummings, Edwin Neal, and Deem Bristow voiced him during a time I was far more invested in the franchise, so I guess I just got accustomed to them. In an ideal world we'd have different versions of Eggman being voiced by different actors. Unfortunately what few opportunities we've had for that were either ignored, or the actors weren't available or willing.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Why doesn't Sega like to work with Unions?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Control, probably.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The same reason any corporation doesn't like working with unions.
they want Chaos Control!
New theme music also a boxWell, they can't work with Deem Bristow anymore even if they wanted to.
Pollock is the only one of the 4kids actor who's stuck around. That has to say something about his work...though the issues with unions may also have something to do with it.
One Strip! One Strip! There were a few things I remember really liking this film:
- Robotnik's first fight with Sonic happened in stages - each machine getting broken and replaced by a smaller one - felt like a nod at some of the boss fights from the games
- Robotnik transitioned from being an egotistical Jerkass to the wackier, balder villain we know and loved from the games.
- The "Eggman" nickname caught on real quick - I'd always head-cannoned that he started off as Robotnik and Sonic just kept dubbing him Eggman mid-fight, so this was kind of wish fulfillment for me.
- The shot of Sonic falling down the building and all of the rings hitting the ground is a neat visual reference to losing all of your rings in the games.
- As someone else pointed out Tom gave as good as he got from Robotnik
- Echidna villains. Enough said.
- The movie even gave us a Hand Wave for why Robotnik can fight Sonic, by using the energy from the quill - something the games never bothered with.
- Robotnik had the gall to fight Sonic head-on in spite of the odds being against him.
- Sonic was actually on the backfoot and fleeing for most of the movie- an interesting reversal from what we normally see in the games where Sonic is chasing Robotnik
The only thing that bugged me about this film:
- Sonic has super speed electricity which seems to have become a thing ever since The Flash premiered on The CW. I don't know why. More visual spectacle I guess. But the movie pretty much turned Sonic into Quicksilver, which in my opinion looks a lot cooler.
True.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!@Soble Oh please plenty of characters are voiced by the same VA even over the period of decades.
Pollock being Eggman’s most consistent voice isn’t that worth being disgusted over.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I have to say this, but did anyone else think that Sonic was so ADORABLE in this film?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Yeah, he was xD He was like a little kid which I think helped endear him to a lot of people. Just this lonely orphan kid who really just wants friends.
Speaking of Sonic movies, I hope the OVA gets rereleased some time.
The Protomen enhanced my life.
Well forgive me Ink Dagger but your post certainly came across as a rant against the film success
