And of course the original pair being remade here were DP, which is pretty bad already.

Toony Explorer 24 re-added some Radar examples to Wild Woody and added "(THIS IS STILL KEPT HERE FOR WHATEVER REASON)" to the end of the commented-out note saying GCPTR is on-page examples only until June 2021. That said, I believe "A very convoluted series of actions in the second level will allow Woody to draw a topless mermaid with visible nipples." is a valid example, considering the game is rated K-A (equivalent to today's E).

[down]Wild Woody came out in 1995, not 2005.

It's rather strange the box art shows the K-A rating when the that rating was replaced by E in 1998; the ESRB does indeed list its rating as E.

Hmm. Looking at the ratings from September 2005, when the game was released, it seems like a topless mermaid would warrant an E10+ rating. This is how to do it (SFW) and here's the result (NSFW). OK, yeah, that's valid. It still shouldn't be on the game page until June, but we can put it on the GCPTR page and re-add it when June rolls around.

Why are we commenting out examples, instead of just removing them outright with an edit reason? That's just leaving a bunch of text that'll sit there with no purpose once the misuse is nearly gone, and this has happened thousands of times so there will be tons left.

[up]He's not commenting-out the examples, he's removing them and leaving this note where the trope would be alphabetically:

  • GettingCrapPastThe Radar: Due to overwhelming and persistent misuse, GCPTR is on-page examples only until 01 June 2021. If you are reading this in the future, please check the trope page to make sure your example fits the current definition.

This example on Getting Crap Past the Radar is incorrect, as there is no "Android 18 movie". Is it possible the example meant Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!?
  • Funimation's dub of the Dragon Ball Z Android 18 movie included the word "bitch", the kind of "infrequent coarse language" that warrants a TV-PG rating at minimum; somehow, it only got a TV-Y7 rating when aired on Nicktoons.
On a related note, the TV-Y7 Nicktoons broadcast of Dragon Ball Z Kai left in Future Android 18 saying "Now I'm pissed!"

Ah. See, that's why history-checking is important. nw09's post claimed the examples were being outright commented out, not just deleted with the note added. That's why I thought, well...examples weren't being deleted.

[up][up]See my post two above yours. People are less likely to re-add a bad example if there's a comment saying "Don't do that!" (My pronouns are he/his/him, by the way).

As for the example, I know nothing about Dragonball; I just kept that example based on the fact that TV-Y7 doesn't allow cursing, and assumed it makes sense to fans.

[up]Where did you originally find that example? I think you got some details mixed up (like I fixed an example you added to Getting Crap Past the Radar claiming Wild Woody says "All I did was bust a gut!", after drawing the naked mermaid, when he actually says it in an unrelated cutscene).

[up][up]I think the Dragonball was already on the page when we did the rewrite.

Thanks for fixing Wild Woody; that example came from the work page, and I mistook a separate example for natter.

[up]So it was on Radar.Anime And Manga? I replaced it with Future Android 18 saying "pissed", as I think whoever wrote it was thinking of that and got details wrong.

The page has a commented-out note saying "The example section is sorted by radar system, not medium. This means that some examples might be listed more than once if they violate different censorship bodies. This is acceptable." Did this thread or TRS decide examples could be listed more than once? It's a pretty basic TV Tropes rule that examples can only be listed once.

I found two possibly valid examples. This one on Radar.Sailor Moon would need to be rewritten as one bullet, and the image link is dead:

This one on Radar.Rugrats. The Rugrats Movie is rated G, but is the lyric "So fast the wind'll blow dry your asshole" in the actual movie or only on the soundtrack?

Personally, I never like example sections being sorted by anything but alphabetical order or medium. That's why I dislike "type" systems. I get why we do it here but I think it's going to make the page bloated and difficult to organize.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

[up][up]It was discussed in TRS. It's a measure to inhibit bad examples; rather than just sticking "This cartoon made a sex joke!" under Western Animation, editors will have to work out which ratings agency dropped the ball. It also makes citation easier, because in many cases we can just put a link to the ratings board at the top of the example section rather than having to linkt to it in every single example.

Furthermore, as an extension of this, I figure that Radar/ subpages should be for ratings agencies rather than by medium, since when you get right down to it, the trope applies to ratings agencies rather than works per se. Sorting the example section by radar system makes splitting off subpags in the futur easier.

As to your specific examples, The Rugrats Movie is rated G in several places. If it includes the uncensored lyrics and not just the instruments, then yeah, that's a valid example.

I have to go to work now, so I'll come back later and see about Sailor Moon.

OK, to Sailor Moon. Since the example specifically refers to Sailor Moon S, it would appear this is something from the Japanese version.

Japan does not apply age ratings to TV broadcasts, and they also don't seem to have any body equivalent to Ofcom. However, IMDB tells me that the DVD release was rated G.

This page shows the English test, and gives some context; more at Wikipedia.

The example seems to take issue with two aspects - new-half and nanpa. New-half can refer to both transgender and genderfluid people, with some connotations that those terms don't have in English. Japan is a bit weird about LGBT issues; however, Sailor Moon is well-known for being very pro-LGBT, with gender-nonconformists among both heroes and villains. As such, merely mentioning a new-half in a brief sight gag doesn't appear to go beyond what the show is known for.

The person who wrote the example seems to think that nanpa refers to soliciting a prostitute, but the links I posted say it just means looking for a date.

So the question on the test isn't about a john being shocked that his prostitute has a penis, it's about a bloke looking for a date and being surprised that the woman he approaches isn't what he expected. Pretty standard anime shenanigans.
